"The first courses we had - small house salad, duck leg salad, frisee salad, were pretty good but main courses need work. The signature bistro dish, steak-frites, was a too-thin hanger steak (why bother to ask how you want it cooked? - it will be "well" if it gets more than 10 seconds on the grill) and the fries, by coincidence also cut far too thin, were overdone and rubbery. The day's fish special, arctic char, which was also dried out.

The hostess staff was friendly and welcoming; table service adequate. There's a large wine selection, by the glass and the bottle, though I'd suggest for the former, prices could be lower or pours more generous."

"Our waiter was attentive and had a great personaity. The food was good-presentation simple. The melted goat cheese with tomato sauce and garlic bread was yum-o. We had the special-braised shortribs served with delicious mashed potatoes and a shallot hash-the shortribs were cooked perfectly. The only drawback is that tables are TOO close together-not only can you hear each other's conversations but you must squeeze by the table next to you to leave-I am 5'2 110lbs."

"Good food, generous portions, excellent service...mentioned in passing that we were celebrating my friend's birthday and she was served a lovely dessert with a candle. Nicely done! We were seated near the bar and it was pretty noisy but not unbearable. A very good experience overall."

"This is a perfect restaurant for a special occasion as the menu is a little pricey. My favorite time to come here is for brunch. The eggs benedict with smoked salmon, and the waffles with banana foster are a few favorites. There is a lot of activity inside the restaurant, but you are still able to have a conversation with the person sitting across from you without trouble hearing them. Overall a good experience, and I plan on returning."

"I really like the food, atmosphere and location, but the service is very frustrating.

Dinner a few Fridays ago with a few girlfriends turned in to us having to tell the server our orders when he brought the food, a mix-up despite asking for confirmation that we had the right steaks and frites that arrived halfway through the meal.

Brunch this weekend had the wrong food served, mine sitting about 10 minutes while they corrected the order, empty coffee cups and a very delayed check... all led by an ambivalent server.

I think I'd go here a lot more if I didn't let myself be annoyed by the poor service and could just enjoy the food."

"went for anniversary, it was very nice to see the restaurant recognize our occasion. Server, forgot name, was great!! He was very professional, well versed, accomodating and not at all imposing but always seemed close by - checked in at all the right times. He was great!"
