This casual bistro is not only warm and welcoming, but also offers guests scenic outdoor dining during the summer months with a great view of the Lincoln Park Conservatory. Please Note: Reservations are for indoor seating, only. Outdoor seating is on first-come, first-serve bases. Guests of Mon Ami Gabi will enjoy the airy interior with its large French windows opening out onto the Lincoln Park Conservatory, or in the summer months, the lovely outdoor garden. Having never been to Mon Ami Gabi, I didn't know exactly what to expect. The place on a Tuesday night was hopping. The place is intimate to say the least so if tight spots for eating are not your idea of fun, steer clear. The food was excellent, wine superb, service top-notch and noise level, fairly high. All in all an enjoyable experience. Valet is $12, which is typical for the city and helpful since parking in this area is nonexistent. I'd give it an A.

We went for the special Passover meal and it was just wonderful. The chicken liver was delicious and even the vegetarian pate was quite pretty good. The brisket was really tender. The matzo ball soup was the best. I can't wait to come back to Chicago and try the French onion soup and some other menu items
