Mon Ami Gabi doesn't try to be everything for everybody. It has a fairly compact menu, but still manages to keep enough variety that there's something for everybody. The wine list is extensive. That's refreshing. Service was terrific and so was the food. Unfortunately, something must have gone astray in the kitchen, as one plate was several minutes late arriving at the table. They made amends with a free desert and otherwise tried to bend over backwards to satisfy both the diner and the table. I'm ready to return for another great dinner.

Its always feels like a vacation day when you happen upon a great movie and Landmark and eat outdoors at Mon Ami in late September...Out waitress, Rebecca was outstanding...Ordered a relatively expensive Bordeaux and she suggested the house which was a better vintage and lower price...good thing because we had two bottles...

I've had some great meals here, but this time around the food was not up to par. I ordered their Duck a l'Orange and although the potatoes au gratin were fantastic, the duck itself was, unfortunately, quite dry. On the bright side, the service was quite outstanding, with servers quite attentive - with the one exception that no one ever came around to ask how the entrees were.

The soup of the day was potato leek. It was not very flavorful but was fixed with a dose of salt. All three of us in my group had the steak and I was disappointed in it. Very thin and fatty. We did share the brie which was excellent.

I had had a birthday and birthday dinner a week later, but my daughter was in from New York, so we did it again. She also loves the restaurant and we all ordered our usuals - escargot, steak classique (for me), a Manhattan, Bordeaux Superieur, and profiterolles. Service was excellent and he chose a great wine for me. We like to go there for special occasions even though the atmosphere is comfortable and prices reasonable. Thanks again.

My husband and I, along with another couple, dined here for our anniversary. We had reservations and got seated immediately. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming. Service was efficient, friendly and the waiter gave us helpful suggestions. The guys had the onion soup which was delicious and we each had a differently prepared steak for our main course, all cooked to order. My friend and I asked to exchange the frites for mashed potatoes and that was no problem. For dessert we shared the creme brulee which was delicious. Only minor complaint was the paper which covered the white tablecloth--don't love that. Everyone was happy with their meal and we had a great time.

We appreciated being seated in quiet part of the restaurant, allowing for easy conversation while enjoying the meal. Choices were salade nicoise, praised by my guest as being very good. My own choice was petite salade verte, decent size for a starter, nicely mixed and with a delicious dressing, plus seafood crepe which I have ordered several times before and once again found to be a delicious choice. To be candid, experience was marred to some extent by server who was attentive when we first came in but after having served my salad drifted off and we had to ask another waiter to check where our entrees were since it took so long. We also had to ask a passing supervisor for check. Not the kind of service I expect in this restaurant.

Our party of four was accommodated in a quiet part of the restaurant which was very much appreciated due to hearing difficulties on the part of two of our group. The meal was excellent; we all enjoyed the very delicious gazpacho, a banner offering here, and various crepes -- seafood, chicken and mushroom, and ham and cheese, and we were all in agreement that the dishes were very good. Service started out being quite attentive and timely but tapered off to the point where I had to go hunting for the waitress and dealing with the reception to finish our transaction.

Hot & muggy inside. Server forgot my iced tea. Water on table warm. Artic char was good but server said it came with sliced cucumber & I got radishes (don't care for them, would have told him to leave them off). Creme fraiche on plate was completely watery. Bread as always was excellent- best part of meal that night. Usually stay for dessert but too hot!

$37 for a couple of not terribly substantial lamb chops? They weren't that great. The chicken liver pate was not recognizable as such by taste or appearance. I had the carmelized onions and red wine sauce over my steak - it was still a bit cold from having been made in advance, and was sweet, almost as if sugar had been added. Didn't care for it. For $180 for two people, we should have eaten much better than we did. Our server was great, and I've always liked the lively ambiance of MAG, but they need to do better.

Food is consistently good and the bread and slaw is a nice touch. We sat outside on the side and it was lovely. The only problem was our main courses came out too quickly as we were just done with our appetizer and the plates had not been cleared. Substituting a vegetable for the fries was easy. Also, the scallops could have used a little starch on the plate in addition to the red peppers.

One of our party was paralyzed on one side, and was in a wheel chair. She had asked to be seated outside, and we put this into Open Table's request. There was no problem unloading the folding wheelchair on Woodmont Avenue, the valet parking person was right there, there was a ramp over the curb at the pedestrian crosswalk, and the maitress D came out to get us, rather than having to go inside to meet her. I had worried that having a table right at the curb would be noisy and uncomfortable, but it was a great dining experience.
