Diner Reviews
  • "the only issue was the dumplings.. not enough filling inside but the pulled pork sandwich was excellent.."

  • "Grabbed dinner at MoMo's the other night while on business travel. Have eaten there over the years and enjoyed myself. Not this time. The restaurant was fairly deserted--maybe 6 or 7 tables on a Saturday night. Our server was virtually AWOL. She took our order, brought our drinks, then disappeared. She never noticed that my soup didn't arrive, nor that other tables that had arrived after us had been served. When I asked about the soup, she said, "Hmm. I guess the kitchen must be slowing down." A few moments later we got our entrees AND I got my soup at the same time. Hate that. She never returned to check on us or offer drink refills, nothing. We had to flag her down for the check. Disappointing and unimpressed. Will skip next time."

  • "This is the happening place before a Giants game--across from AT&T Park. The food is always good--wide selection and well-prepared. Service is fast, attentive and friendly. Bartenders know their drinks. Been here many times and never disappointed."

  • "Long time favorite before and after S.F. Giants home baseball games, directly across from ball park. Enthusiastic group of fans pack the place and enjoy the upbeat atmosphere. Ample portions of good food, great brunch and lunch items and big drinks. Wear your Orange! ."

  • "This is a great place before a giants game. It's close to the stadium and a fun atmosphere to get ready for the game."

  • "What a pleasure to have a high quality restaurant to dine in before or after a Giant's game. The food, ambiance and overall experience just adds to the pleasure of a day at the ballpark. The food is outstanding. I've eaten there a half dozen times and have always been so pleased with my food selection."

  • "I love my city, and love taking out of town guests and clients to great spots like MoMo's. Service was excellent, our waitress continuously checked our table. Although, there's no kids' menu, this restaurant does everything to accommodate child portions. There's nothing a kid wouldn't like on the menu, and my son is super picky. Everyone had a great time, and being that the SF Giants were playing in Arizona, it was a chill night at MoMo's, we could hear each other."

  • "the server did not check on us at all. didn't ask if we wanted our drinks refilled. i had to get up and find him to ask for our check. terrible. would not recommend. it was sunday at 2pm. there was no one there. i could understand if the place was packed - but it was empty and we did not get good service at all. food was only - eh - as well. i would not go here again."

  • "This was our first time this year, dining at MoMo's before the Giants game and we were looking forward to the good food before the game. What a disappointment - as soon as I sat down and looked at the menu I wanted to get up and leave. The menu stated 'March Menu' so I'm hoping the menu changes for the better in April and coming months. The old menu items of: pecan/walnut salad, pulled pork sandwich, quesadilla to just name a few were not on the menu. Our guest tried the Gumbo - and they said it was good, and our other guest tried the pot pie and received 'good' as well. However, I noticed that quite a few dinner guest were ordering pizza and salad -- and I felt is it was due to limited menu selections. Better menu for April please!!!"

  • "Momo's on a Giants' game day is an extension of the ballpark and just as much fun. The food and service is a bit haphazard because of the natural high-spirited chaos involving fans, restaurant patrons and the drinking-only crowd out front. Just sit back and enjoy it all!"

  • "I've always passed Momo's on game days when it's mobbed inside and out. It never occurred to me to try it out at any other time because of that. We had a wonderful buffet brunch--in the off season--and would definitely go back to try dinner. The food was very tasty, the prices were reasonable and the service was good. And...it wasn't at all noisy. Who knew?! Try the coffee cake, the morning glory muffins and the french toast. They were all really delicious."

  • "I have been to Momo's 25-30 times over the past few years, almost always for business. I try to go at least twice a month. The menu is strong across-the-board and I have never once had anything but praise and satisfaction from my guests, which has been a big variety of people from kids to seniors. Staff is super-professional and courteous. Service is prompt. Prices very reasonable. Strongly recommended."

  • "Enjoyed the small private room which was a nice surprise for our group of 8 and made our working lunch easy. Food was good as always. Service on this day was incredibly slow, so we did have the sense that while we had a private room, maybe they forgot about us."

  • "We came here on valentines day and I was thrilled that there were tables available. We sat down and things went downhill fast. The server was very nice, but took 15 minutes to come by to take our order. Once we ordered, it took another hour to receive steak, a burger and a pizza. The food was delicious and my water glass was never empty, but with only half of the restaurant filled, it is hard to determine what we were waiting for. Definitely go there, but not hungry!"

  • "4 of us ate at Momo's. The two men had the steak special- a great deal for 3 courses at $29.95. Our wives both had the gumbo and both commented immediately that the rice was crunchy. They asked the server and she said the Basmati rice is supposed to be crunchy. But...not so. Just needs to be cooked longer. Gumbo would have been much better with softer rice. Bread pudding was really good for desert. We'll go again."

  • "It was Saturday brunch during baseball off season. Still buffet nicely done with plenty of selections. We truly enjoyed the experience and attentive staff. The manager Ender Mikery was truly outstanding and took great care of making us feel welcomed."

  • "We enjoyed the food and atmosphere there but a little expensive for what you get. That's of course what you get for going to a Resturaunt across from the ball park. Do recommend it tho"

  • "We had a 5 PM reservation, made on Open Table. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk for a good 5 minutes. When the hostess arrived, she was a little surly and uninterested. Sheb took us to a table back in the back of the restaurant. We did not feel welcome! From that point, things improved. We ordered drinks which were great. Our waitress was pleasant and knowledgeable, and had good recommendations. My wife had mushroom risotto, and I had "Pete's" Burger. My wife said the risotto was not flavorful, and was liken oatmeal. My burger was wonderful! We paid and left. It appears that this restaurant must cater to Giant's homeb game fans, because it is directly across the street from AT&T Park. They need to work on the greeting."

  • "Famous place, mostly for being across from ATT Park. Great service in the dining room, but glorified burger joint. Bartender sucked, tall goofy guy, took a long time get his attention, even though they weren't that busy. Finally when he came over, he still tried to finish a silly conversation with another patron, while a waited. Minutes later when I asked again for my drink, he said, oh sorry,I forgot. How does a guy like this get to keep his job????"

  • "I think they have gotten lazy, with a built in audience from the ball park. The service was bad, the food selection mediocre and the overall experience was poor."

  • "When ordering I made sure to tell my waiter I had a seafood allergy. When my food arrived I questioned again asking if it was safe for me. Our waiter said he wrote it on the ticket but would double check. He came back saying it was not. My party finished eating and my still had not arrived. When it finally did it was wrong. After all was said and done they removed my food item only. Lots of choices on the menu. Directly across from ATT park. Valet parking is required there is no lot available. Cost $20"

  • "MoMo's was a good dinner choice after seeing Cirque du Soleil on New Year's Eve. The menu is extensive and offers something for every taste and lifestyle from vegetarian to beefeater. The prices are reasonable and, unlike common practice with other restaurants, they were not jacked up higher just because it was New Year's Eve. Service was very attentive and the food arrived at the right time and temperature. I hope others will choose MoMo's and remember they are open year-round, not just during baseball season."

  • "Having gone by Momo's hundreds of times, I finally decided to go on Sunday afternoon with my family. The 49ers were on and we decided to have the Sunday brunch. The food was no better than cafeteria style. We also had a flighty waiter who got us our drinks, then we didn't see him for a half hr. With all the fabulous places to eat in SF, I'm surprised that Momo's is still in business if this is what they present to customers. I won't be back."

  • "Our family of 5 came here after seeing Cirque du Soleil. The enormous TV screens surrounding the room were annoying, but.. I guess that's what a sports bar is. For starters we had the Caesar salad (good), the French onion soup (VERY good, with rich broth) and the beet salad (excellent, with pale pink beets and they also split it very nicely). So far, so good. The mussels with frites were AMAZINGLY delicious (one of the best ever - the broth was to die for). The chicken wings, also delicious. Margherita pizza - nothing special, but good. We waited for crab cakes. And waited. We all finished. Still waiting. FINALLY another server brought them - they had been sitting under lights for a long time. To their credit they took it off the bill...."

  • "Our waitress Maddy was fabulous. Very efficient, knew the menu well, and very personable. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were attending the Fight The Hunger Bowl so I'm sure things were a still more hectic than on a normal day."

  • "This used to be a good solid white table cloth restaurant with a very good varied menu and consistently good food. Now the only dishes on the overprices (for the quality) worth ordering is the hamburger or the pizza, much of the rest of the offerings are not worth exploring. I have been to Momo's regularly over the years and have witnessed this decline to mediocrity. can no longer in good conscious recommend Momo's to any friends, nor will I return until such time that I hear of new management or a new chef."

  • "they took us to our table right away when we arrived. the outdoor seating and bar areas were really noisy because it was right before a game at AT&T. service was very slow even after the place cleared out. The food was good, though."

  • "This used to be a regular spot for me a few years ago, but food was dissapointing this trip. Dishes not well described in menu nor by wait staff. Beet salad, expected, beets, maybe a little bit of greens. It was a green salad with a few cubed beets. One third of the plate was greens. Crab cakes, so-so, nothing special. Wait staff friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the dishes to recommend."

  • "Momo's is a great place on its own - for any event. But as a prequel or sequel to a day's or night's event, it sets bar for fun and frivolity. Great food. Fun environment. Service is always terrific. It's a place where festivity ensues..."

  • "We had the pulled pork sliders with slaw, lamb meatballs, and sides of macaroni/cheese/ham (great!) and sauteed greens (a huge portion, very mildly spiced). The service was spotty (half of our food came out right away, and the rest was forgotten at first), but the flavors were great in a relaxed, non-dressy setting. Very filling and served piping hot - will return. Great appetizers and small plates!"

  • "We had dinner here before Cirque du Soleil and the staff were wonderful. Unfortunately we hit a lot of traffic on the way and were 1/2 hour late but we were seated and fed within 25 minutes. The food was quite good: burgers, fish, onion soup enjoyed by all. Not fancy but good, honest food. The staff was very attentive and all of our needs were met quickly. The final act that earned them the five stars overall occurred when we realized we had left our printed tickets back home. They reprinted our tickets for us in their office and we made it to the show in time - amazing! We will be back."
