A word from Momofuku Má Pêche
Má Pêche is Momofuku’s only restaurant that doesn"t require a subway ride to get to if you're coming from the MoMA, the Theater District, Central Park, or work: it's in Midtown. Má Pêche (which means “mother peach”) opened in 2010 and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

At Má Pêche, guests may choose from a variety of passed plates offered tableside to accompany larger a la carte dishes meant for sharing. Inspired by dim sum, the passed plates and cart service allow for a hand-selected, communal dining experience from Executive Chef Paul Carmichael.

    Food was fantastic as his other restaurant locations. The flavor is fantastically unexpected and delicious. The flavors were great! and the waiter offered to accommodate our individual dining needs after checking with the kitchen. Always excellent! Chef Chang has a unique way of adding flavors and style that I recognize as distinctively Korean that is not too apparent. Ingeniously skilled! Like to meet him one day.

    Planning ahead for family style group dinner was convenient and cost effective for our group of 8. Groups from 6-12 can take advantage of the chicken and or lamb group dishes. You won't run out of food, but if you do, grab some dim sum from the cart. Bonus points for great cocktails at the bar and great desserts.

    Hostess was not particularly warm when we arrived. Although we requested not to be seated at the common table and reiterated this request when the restaurant called to confirm. Over the phone we were reassured that while it was not guaranteed, since the request was in the rez, she didn't think it would be a problem to be seated privately. Instead we were seated at a common table one chair away from a loud couple which totally ruined what could have been a pleasant and chic dining experience. The restaurant was not full so this should have been an easy request to accommodate. The service was average but the food was innovative and quite good. Glad to have tried it but not interested in returning.

    What a lucky find! The food's fantastic, the space is perfect, and though some may say it was a bit busy, I enjoyed the liveliness that was never loud. It's a great place for dinner and/or drinks with friends (small groups), especially if you enjoy great food. It's also a great place to find out what your date is into, culinary and otherwise. We had a really great time and will definitely come back again.

    Having dined here a few times, this will be the last. The introduction of carts of food going round to supplement the main order is disastrous with the people pushing them whispering what is on the cart, and basilar vanishing after I 1 lap. No chance to order more pork buns, and just trying to drive up the spend. Less imagination in the food, poorly presented, such a shame

    Picking a favourite dish at momofuku is hard. Is it the famous pork belly steamed buns, the luscious soft shell crab buns with spicy mayo and slaw, or the crack pie (which as the name suggests is completely addictive)? Fortunately if you have a small group, you don't have to pick one - but get to enjoy a little of everything. The staff clearly love what they do and the dim sum style eating is perfect for a girls who inevitably has food envy.

    We had high expectations. The fried chicken was tasteless, quite dry and poorly presented. The melon salad was also poor with the melon slightly overdone. The lobster fried rice had no salt and no lobster(they used large prawns) The pork buns were to die for. I will not recommend this place except for a quick lunch at the bar and being extremely selective on what I ordered.

    The watermelon, ricotta and chimichurri plate was seriously dissappointing. And the prices for lunch struck me as being too high for some very small plates -like the broccoli salad. Tasty, but not worth the price. I also have mixed feelings about the dim sum cart procedure. The carts can take too long to circulate and may, or may not, have something left on them that you want. I've been to Ma Pêche several times since the carts were introduced. I can see bringing them around for an impulse order --for something I wouldn't have imagined, but In general, I would prefer to order off of a menue.

    I'm a huge David Chang fan. I love the way he talks and writes about food. I agree with his philosophy around dining and eating. I expected his restaurant to reflect this and to have been more innovative. But it wasn't. Don't get me wrong--it was tasty enough, but in NYC I could have gotten a more interesting meal and experience for the same price. The service was just ok. Our waitress was very sweet, but it took 20 minutes for my second drink to come out and my husband's wine was completely forgotten--and we were there on a pretty slow Sunday evening. I'm glad I went because I was curious about experiencing one of David Chang's restaurants and his cuisine, but I'll go somewhere else the next time I'm in town.

    Momofuku's on the LES has to be one of the best restaurants in NYC, but this place was the worst. The food was good, but only when you could get it. You order dishes, but they never arrive. You then get an apology and a promise that they will rush the dish right out…but the dish still does not ever arrive. It takes forever to eat, because we could not get food delivered to the table. We even put in a drink order and it took 20mins for the drinks to arrive. Almost every table around us was complaining and asking to speak to a manager. While the food was very good, it was not worth the aggravation.

    This fusion menu was delicious and delightful. The tastes were familiar and yet uniquely presented. The highlight were the shoft shell crab buns. The milk bar concept was a bit unusual for us and we may still need to be convinced. Overall we loved the night out and wished we were a bigger party than 2 so we could have tried more things.

    First service was terrible we were dine with our apetizers and the wine had not arrived yet. The waiter had very little patience explaining the menu and wine list. $50 dollar fried chicken and on top of everything They charge my card twice!

    If you 'know' Momofuku you know what you're going to get however, as usual, he surpasses your expectations. The 'dim sum' at ma peche is delectable and worth every penny. The service was on point - eager to please yet not hounding you. Had one 'big' plate... Half of 'a bird'. Can honestly say this was the best fried chicken I've ever had in life - seriously. It's been three days and I'm still dreaming about CHICKEN. FRIED CHICKEN. Seriously!?

    Lack of refinement of the dishes. Too spicy chicken makes it hard to taste the next dishes. Strange heavy fried dough without taste accompanies the porgy. Wrong dish came to the table, wrong wine was served, strange choice of white wine (riesling) for the dishes.

    I made a reservation for Sunday Brunch at 10am. When I arrived, no one was there and no staff was in sight. Finally, at about 10:15am, someone finally emerged after I had asked the people upstairs twice if they were even open. When asked if they were actually serving brunch, I was told, "No," and that "OpenTable screws it up; we don't serve the lunch menu on Sundays." They briefly showed me the menu and the only thing I caught a glimpse of was that they were offering granola, which is obviously not at all what I had expected nor wanted when I made the reservation...ended up at a Papillon instead...

    I had dinner this past Saturday night at Momofuku Ma Peche, and it was wonderful! Food was fantastic! Highly recommend the short ribs, the habanero fried chicken, broccoli salad, tomato salad, watermelon salad. and the vegetable rice cakes. Many items are served on the dim-sum like carts which frequent the dining room. Service was very friendly and attentive. Great vibe! Excellent wine list. Wonderful restaurant in the midtown area.

    We went there for breakfast. The place only had about 5 people in it. We sat down at a table for almost 15 minutes without being approached by a single person of staff. In fact, with the exception of some glimpses of stuff for most of the time there was not a single person of staff around. No waiter. No host. No one. As we got up to leave a waitress emerged. She talked to one of the tables, not even glanced at us, and went back to where she came from. Naturally, we continued walking out... I don't know how this place does for dinner, and I can't say anything about the food. But if you're not going to be ready to have people for breakfast, you should not provide that option.

    Shame that my review is negative because the food was amazing, and our server was great. However, the format/operations was very confusing, and dining should never be confusing. It's just food. Upon being seated, there was no one to explain the complicated way of ordering. Our server was a man performing the task of 3 people (barman - taking drinks orders, making cocktails, then taking food order, clearing plates/drinks). We understand that the format of the restaurant had changed recently; and probably needs some tweaking. The two couples sitting on either side of us were equally confused; so I don't think it was just us. Anyway, food was amazing, which is a shame. All the best in future.

    Overall, food and service were good but not GREAT. The cold food dim sum cart never came around to us, and we would've ordered food from it! It's almost like they forgot about us or didn't have enough food from it. Also, we asked to take our fried chicken home, but our server didn't bring it to us. I didn't ask for it -- wasn't sure where the chicken was at that point. The chicken (habanero) was delicious.

    Loved that it operates like dim sum. Had the lobster rice (too much rice), habanero fried chicken (SPICY!!), a pork fried rice of some sort (delish!), pork and soft shell crab buns (OMG AHHH-MAHHH-ZINGG!!), and the crack pie for dessert. I think there was one other dish but I can't really remember it right now. The food was amazing. Service was a bit strange. We had a separate wine server and after we each got our first glass the bottle (and that server) disappeared! When we asked for the rest of our wine, the original server said he couldn't find it and offered us a half glass each. After we reminded him that we paid for the bottle, he spoke with his manager and got us a new bottle. Overall, good recovery!

    Ma Peche has made a nice niche from something that is very common for chinatown brunch. If you have ever been to Dim Sum, this restaurant is essential Dim Sum for Dinner on Crack. For those that don't know, Dim Sum is when the food is carted around and you can order straight from the cart as they come over. They explain exactly whats in it, and of course it looks fantastic. There is a set menu which the waiter recommended how much we should order, (everything is shared). My Fiance ignored that and basically ordered anything he wanted (off the menu and off passing carts) which resulted in a large take out bag. The food was delicious, and had an asian fusion flair to it. Lamb Ribs were amazing. Dessert was the Milk bar's standard fare.

    This restaurant is worth going to! It's high priced, some tables are jammed next to one another and it's noisy.....but try it. You will probably like it. The small plate and sharing concept is alive and well and the food is unusual, well prepared and alot of fun. Go with several people if possible so you can try alot of different things. The check, particularly if you order wine.....can be pretty large so beware.

    Food was good. Some dishes were very yummy and some were just ok. Upbeat atmosphere and the dim sum carts add to the fun. Dessert was uneven too but cake balls were super delish. Service was not good. Our waiter seemed very distracted and not particularly happy to be there. Not sure I need to go back. It was yoo easy getting the reservation... Now I know why.

    I'm a dim sum vet and it was interesting to see this new take on it. Basically, you can order a few (quite pricey but large) entrees off the menu, then choose from several smaller dishes on carts. For our group of three we got the half-fried chicken, a pork bun, the vegetarian rice cakes, an heirloom tomato/strawberry salad and the broccoli salad which was more than enough. The pork bun is a classic and was well executed with an unctuously rich slab of pork belly, the broccoli salad had an umami-rich miso dressing and the rice cakes had a surprising kick to them along with a kale topping. It's fun but clearly designed for a large party that can try everything, and prices could rack up quickly if not careful.

    Like all of Chang's spots, the food is the reason you come, never the service which is usually cold and rather stand-offish. Such a shame especially seeing that DC is such a likable dude. We had to practically beg to get drinks ordered. The kitchen is on point (everything we ate was special) but there seems to be no one running the dining room. We easily would've spent $40-$50 more on drinks but the server really wasn't interested in taking care of us. My GF's drink didn't show up until we were halfway through our meal. Come on son, we understand that you're a cool guy but this is your job. It was one of those head scratchers where you ask "Why am I spending this kind of money to be treated like an afterthought?"

    Dimsum inspired serving style, Two of us, we ordered two items off the chef's selection menu: soft shell crab bun ; fried chicken and waffles. OMG! So delicious. Off the carts, we got a Southern Biscuit and Gravy ( with sausages), and the brioche w/ cream cheese and bacon off the "pastry cart". All delicious. Totally enjoyable.

    Ate here this past week for a late dinner. Showed up at 9:15 with an open table reservation and could only be seated at the bar after a short wait. It was fine, but for being at the bar, the service wasn't that great - we waited a bit for our drinks and to put our order in. There is a short menu plus the rest is dim sum style, so sitting at the bar proved a little awkward for seeing what was coming around. The food itself was amazing. We had the soft shelled crab and oysters off of the menu. The crab was amazing. The oysters were very good, but nothing unusual (I would try some of the more innovative dishes instead). The crispy rice and lobster rice dishes were equally amazing. Come prepared for spice.

    Having dined at Momofuku Seiobo in Sydney, Australia we were really looking forward to having a similar taste bud tingling experience at Momofuku Ma Peche in New York. The main reason we went there was because it was the only option we could actually make a reservation at. The food was good but not mind blowing. The a la carte and food cart options are great and you get to mix and match and try different things. I felt like the carts didn't come around enough, they would make an appearance every 15 mins or so and were more for show than for food. A good experience overall in terms of service and ambience but if you are looking for amazing Asian food I would try other options.
