  • "two of our group arrived early for a before dinner drink and when I arrived asked me to make sure we were upstairs because the band was way too loud. It was very enjoyable upstairs."

  • "Delicious Irish Dishes. Had the Trio, which was a sampler of Irish Stew, Steak and Guiness, and Shepherd's Pie. Outstanding. Service was fantastic, also."

  • "We've been to Molly Maguire's in Phoenixville and loved it. Our Irish Nachos were okay, but chicken sandwich was borderline burnt and my son's pizza was cold. We didn't want to finish our meal. The hostess staff seemed very disorganized."

  • "Waitress was polite. 1st round of cocktails took 20 minutes. Ordered food. Apps came out cold. A friend ordered a fillet, 20 minutes later she was told they were out, so she ordered the sirloin, 5 minutes later she was told they were out of that too. Dining area was LOUD! Waitress did remove a soup from the order for not having 2 items. Really!! a soup! No manager came to talk with us. Another waiter walked passed delivering a pasta dish and his thumb was in the pasta. Who is watching these servers? Apparently no one. We will never be going to any Molly McGuires again."

  • "The Chop (PorkChops) were very dry - the ribs were a lot better."

  • "We've been there several times and the food had been great. The last two times we were there, however, we've had a guy (relatively new) who has been less than efficient and friendly. I'd still go back because the food and beer list is great. I love the atmosphere. It reminds me of the place I wasn't born: Ireland."

  • "Beers are over priced. It's a bar in a small town and the prices should reflect that."

  • "We went to Molly Maguires for my birthday and were pleased to hear Irish musicians and see Irish dancers. The food was delicious, our server was excellent. I am definitely going back again. The only problems were the uncomfortable chairs and the fact that we had to wait 20 minutes, even though we had a reservation."

  • "Local singles met up for lunch - first time having lunch there. Great place, good food. Would go back to try other dishes. Second floor was much quieter than the first floor."

  • "We chose this location because of the Sunday Irish music from 4-8pm, along with the atmosphere. We arrived at 3pm, so the crowds were small. The menu selection was vast, including great irish dishes like shepherd's pie and cornbeef and cabbage. The big beautiful authentic-looking bar was a great addition (on both floors). The beer selection was good. The servers were all very nice, just very slow to serve despite the smaller crowd. They didn't seem to be in any hurry and needed to be reminded on a couple of occasions to replenish our beverages (which typically is the first thing they ask). They seemed to be used to a local clientele that were used to a slow and easy pace. Attire--very casual."

  • "A typical Irish pub setting good food, excellent beer selection and live traditional music For a quick drink or casual meal this is an excellent place Have been here several times and always had great service"

  • "I ordered a gluten free meal since I have Celiac. The menu said my ribs came with mashed potatoes and baked beans. I got neither. The server said she didn't know if the mashed potatoes were GF. She offered a salad in its place. Then I remembered the beans but the server said it was only 1 side included, so I still never got those. A manager even came over and seemed just as clueless as the server as to what side items were gluten free. The ribs weren't even that good."

  • "This was my boyfriend and I's first visit to Molly Maguire's in Downingtown. We had a great time. We had reservations for 8:30pm and we were seated right on the dot at 8:30pm. The drinks were a bit expensive, but tasty. The fried pickles are the best I have ever had! I got the veggie burger, which was delicious! It was more oats/beans than veggies, but it was tasty and the bun was buttered and toasted to perfection. My boyfriend got a "Rachel" with fries and loved both parts of his meal. The bar got crowded fast, but we just went to the 2nd floor bar where there were less people. Overall, it was a good experience and we will go back."

  • "Great Irish food menu from Corned beef and cabbage to Irish Stew. Well prepared and delicious. And they know how to serve Guinness Ale and Irish Coffee. Fantastic building with several small private dining rooms.....a large banquet facility for large gatherings......and a wonderful bar if you are "parched". Not an expensive fine dining place.....but a fun evening out or place for a party. Food is well prepared and the service is very good. Love the décor.....and makes you feel like you are truly in Ireland!"

  • "Service was slow. Waitress forgot to bing soup order and suddenly main course arrived. Food was good. Good Irish beer selection. Good place for casual night out. Would go back despite slow/inattentive server."

  • "Our crew went for dinner and it was a very good time for all. Food was great drinks were good and service was very good. A problem with the billing but it was taken care of promptly and with a smile Using the Open table reservation on the internet was awesome no waiting. I received an email confirming and a phone call the day of our reservation also confirming. Molly McGuires is on top of it. My hat is off to you and we will be back."

  • "We have been to Macgiures a few time before without any problems. This time the food was awful. The coconut shrimp was raw. Our sandwiches consisted of unmelted cheese on beef with a stale roll and a cold cod fish sandwich. The cod fell apart. I don't think it was not cooked properly. Deep fryer issues maybe? We were offered free dessert but after the shrimp we just wanted to leave."

  • "Ate at Molly Maguire's with my family while passing through Downingtown, PA. The food was tasty and filling, the service was warm, and the ambience was authentic Irish Pub (without the customary haze of smoke!) I will go back on my next pass through Downingtown, PA, and will recommend it to my friends!."

  • "First we'd like to sing the praises of our server Byron. He was so personable, pleasant and eager to please. He is definitely an asset to your business there at Molly Maguires. He went the extra mile of getting me a glass of champagne even though we did not order the Valentine special and answered so many questions we had about the menu, etc. We really enjoyed every bite of our meals. The bacon wrapped scallops were awesome. Our entrees - Roast Beef Boxty and the crab cake sandwich were delicious! Then we split the the bread pudding which was very tasty and a very ample portion that could easily be shared by two. Following it up with an Irish coffee made with Jameson - the perfect meal! We will definitely return to Molly Maguires again!"

  • "My wife and I went to dinner here and had a disappointing experience. The food wasn't even as good as a chain restaurant. The staff seems very inexperienced. The ambience is extremely loud. We have learned our lesson, this is a Bar that serves food not a restaurant . It is clear this will be a thriving spot for the community to come and party. In fact we will find a reason to meet friends here and party the night away. But we will not come back with the sole purpose of having a nice meal. That does not seem to be their focus even though they have shoved in as many tables as the place could possibly hold. (We were so jammed packed together, I accidentally ate three bites of a strangers salad next to me.) Ok not really, but close."

  • "This would have been a wonderful evening had the waiter given us some attention. He was busy helping other tables and could never find the time to follow up with us. Then when the bill came. He charged us for beer refills he never gave us. The food was great. But this server really needs a crash course in providing good customer service."

  • "We were there on 1/31 for a friends 40th birthday and Steve was our server and turns out it was his birthday and 27th Wedding Anniversary and he was awesome, very entertaining, sweet and funny, not to mention very attentive. The establishment was kind enough to send him home early to be with his wife which was very cool of them but we were sad to see him go. The server that took over his shift was not attentive at all and screwed up our tabs at the end."

  • "Great bar for fun! The food is good to very good, but they need a little more consistency. Beer is plentiful, with lots of specials at great prices. Booze is a little on the high side. Neat "hide away" booths!"

  • "Have been to Molly's now for the second time and first time at a high top table at entrance with an open table reservation, although the food was great the table too close to mobs of people entering, the wait staff bumping into us often, by the end of meal we were ready to go. Second time, again open table, upstairs, our table waiting and it was great, seated immediately and served promptly. We do know that just opening there will be growing pains and proper table locations to be reviewed, but on the whole we did enjoy and we will be back. Happy to have you in the neighborhood, you are our first family/night spot to arrive in Downingtown and we love that!"

  • "Food was fantastic. Beer selection was solid, though a little limited as far variety goes. I'd love to see some more local craft beers on the menu. Service was outstanding. The only complaint was that we were seated close to the front of the bar area and there was a chilling breeze every time the front door was opened. It wasn't that big a deal and I' m not sure what could be done but I figured I'd mention it"

  • "We met another couple there for dinner & drinks. Place was packed on a Friday around 6:30. Service was great in the beginning but did falter a little toward the end. Food is very Irish Pub-like, but good. Appetizers where excellent - recommend the Spinach/Artichoke dip. Nice wine selection. Approximately 20 beers on tap, mostly local brews. There was a nice mix of IPAs, lagers, wits and porters. The only downside was the noice level. It grew in intensity by 8:00 and was very hard to hear each other across the table."

  • "So the food was ok, at best. But the service was horrible. The messed up our bill, and then couldn't fix it... prolly won't be going back here."

  • "Molly's DTown is fairly new to the borough and still in the novelty phase in terms of a destination. It gets crowded fast, there is not much parking and local businesses are very protective of their own reserved parking (which is posted). The food is good, standard pub fare, but done pretty well. Good beer selection, staff very nice and service is very good. Nice local gathering spot."

  • "Our reservation for 4 was for 5:30pm. Seated at a table on the second floor. Finished about 6:30 just as the number of patrons was increasing. Service was prompt and wait staff were friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. On this visit our goal was conversation so the timing was appropriate."

  • "One of our friends recommended Molly Maguire's. We did not know of it prior to the recommendation. Tried it out and had a very pleasant experience. Felt just like an Irish Pub, comfortable elevated seating, excellent beer and good fare (Shepards Pie and Fish and Chips). Service was excellent. Servers were very pleasant. Plenty of parking. Great ambiance. We'll be back."
