Diner Reviews
  • "Hello, Moksha is one of our best restaurants. Last sunday was great, but I did not like the service. The food came in one big plat where they put a small portion of rice, chicken masala and naan. I was not happy to pay for this lunch. More better to pay a normal lunch than eat special for $15 for 3 entrees. Thanks for good food and ambiance"

  • "To be honest, I did not have high expectation when I went to Moksha because I had not heard much about this new restaurant and had yet to see a full house there. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and loved decorations. Why are they not more popular? Well, my husband and I went in after lunch hours on 12/31 so it was unusually quiet. There were a few tables at the front end of the restaurant where either the owners or maybe their friends were all spread-out, chatting obnoxiously loud in their mother tongue, which made it really awkward especially when the whole restaurant was very quiet. I would understand the unusual emptiness in an otherwise vibrant location if this happens on normal days."

  • "Our food was delish but experience could have been better. Our reservation for 7:30 on a Friday for two of us. We were seated at a small table next to a families with several small children on both sides of us. With kids running around our table we considered leaving. One of the families was finishing and once they left we moved tables which was larger so we could sit next to each other. As a mother of 3 I understand however if I'm leaving my children at home I don't want other peoples children running around my table. I understand the children's behavior is not the restaurants responsibility however I feel that many times when we dine out with our kids we end up in a 'kids section'. Maybe this is something Moksha could consider."

  • "This is my favorite Indian food in Bellevue. Great place to go after a movie at Lincoln Square. Very friendly service. Food was served quickly after ordering. Very tasty food."

  • "The location is excellent and so does the ambiance. But the food quality is not so great for the price you pay."

  • "I felt like this restaurant needs to work on food, ambience and table settings. We ordered chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo with plain naan. Chicken tika masala was not what we expected; distasteful and meat was not fully cooked. Lamb vindaloo needs to find a balance between lamb and greenies. There were more veggies than lamb. Naan was not thoroughly cooked. I ordered masala chai and it was plain tea with cream, very disappointing."

  • "The Lamb Karaikudi and the spiced naan took the chill out of a wet, cold, blustery Saturday night!! Food is VERY GOOD and the service is going up to higher standards. Good atmosphere and lovely furnishings."

  • "I made a rez at Moksha while waiting for our movie to begin at Lincoln Center, Bellevue. What a delight to have dinner where normal conversation wasn't drowned out with overwhealming kitchen clatter and shouting ! The food was very good and the lamb tender. Wait staff busy, yet attentive. A definite positive experience."

  • "Our first time at Moksha with a group of friends during valentines evening and we were extremely satisfied with the quality, service and ambience. Pros: Great food, good service, good ambience. Improvement areas: Level of spice does not match with number indicators, Chairs are too short for tall people. Overall rating: 4/5."

  • "Went here on a Friday night and really liked the food. The lamb and the eggplant were excellent, and the Biryani was pretty good too. Would come back again just for the lamb and eggplant."

  • "The food and service were excellent. I will be enjoying it with friends."

  • "This was our fourth time eating at this restaurant and the standards have dropped significantly over the few months it has been open. The service is now incredibly slow and unreliable (>30 mins for food, extra rice order never arrived one time, and one time a naan order arrived after most of the food had already been eaten), the tables are too close to each other and to add to that the staff often puts couples next to families with loud kids (the acoustics amplify sounds, which doesn't help), despite requests for a quiet table."

  • "A new restaurant can be frightening but Moksha hit it out of the park on every level. When you enter it seems sparse but it's totally opposite. Beautiful design, you feel private yet not excluded at your table, noise level allows for conversation without raising your voice, no clanking plates, machines. Service was wonderful and knowledge of dishes, wine list was flawless. Then the food arrived - fantastic!!! Most enjoyable experience!!!! We plan to go back within the week."

  • "We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Had diverse tastes in our group and found something for everybody. What the kitchen serves is competent Indian cuisine, however we wondered at the total lack of tandoori offerings. Perhaps the dinner experience is quite different, which we'll try next."

  • "It would be a big mistake to look down on this as a restaurant at the Mall.... If you like Indian cuisine, this is a must try."

  • "We Love this place! We'd not found any Indian we enjoyed on the Eastside and those which were decent were typically in a strip mall, no frills, tragic setting- not exactly where you want to spend an evening. Enter Moksha, hip, relaxed, elevated and consistent. The Lamb dishes are the stand outs as well as the aloo gobi. All items are prepared with care and you can actually see the ingredients. The cocktails are as good as the food and the salted, lime sparkling water is my favorite bit. We cant eat here enough. I love meeting my husband here for lunch. Not very spicy, true, but our kids love it too. When I know I have Moksha leftovers, my day just looks like a rainbow!"

  • "We had lunch with friends from out of town. Everything was well-prepared and tasted delicious, and the server was attentive. Unfortunately they were out of the pumpkin soup that our friends had wanted to order."

  • "Nice interior decor but lots and lots of families with kids, which is great if you are one of them but not so great for a couple seeking an adult dining experience. Liked but did not love the food -- chicken tandoor was good, as was the aloo ghobi, but the eggplant was not to our liking and the nan was just fair."

  • "Great food! Nice environment. Just know that it's more like a chain restaurant than an individual owned."

  • "Fantastic food, service, and really appreciate that even tho it was fairly busy when there, I could still hear the conversation with dinner companions! Bravo to you for bringing this gem to Bellevue!"

  • "Made reservations for a Friday evening with my wife based on Seattle Times recommendations. The food and service did not disappoint. We had the saag paneer and lamb karaibura (spelling?) and both were fantastic. Add in the garlic naan and the meal was complete."

  • "Terrible service especially when the resteraunt was practically empty at lunch."

  • "Dined here for girls night out last week. Perhaps the best Indian food I have ever eaten. Fresh, flavorful, beautiful and creative variety. Super attentive service in a beautiful atmosphere. Friendly bartender who personally came to check on our drinks! Who can ask for more!"

  • "This is one of the best Indian Cuisine experiences we've ever had and extremely reasonably priced! Wine, apps, entree for two for $60 in Bellevue? Wow!! Also, outstanding service! Thank you!!!"

  • "Don't know if I came on an off night but three of us choose to celebrate my wife's birthday this last Saturday. We ordered the tandoori chicken, lamb marsala and eggplant along with samosas for an appetizer and garlic naan bread. I'm a big fan of Indian food and I had high expectations for Moksha. But it was just ok. Certainly not bad but nothing jumped off the charts. I did like the location, ambience and the service....all excellent. Wish I could say the same about the food which I will rate as only fair. It seemed more like "Americanized" Indian food because it was on the heavy side. Also didn't see any people of Indian nationality eating there which is not a good sign given the number of Indians living in Bellevue."

  • "The classics made better. The kitchen honors the classic with modern presentations, high quality ingredients and a drink menu that perfectly complements the deliciously spicy food. Food can be tailored to more or less spice. The ambiance was a balance between large, round open tables for groups throughout the middle, and smaller tables in dimmer lighting around the perimeter. Dining is in the back, past the bar."

  • "Most important, the food is amazing and comes out of the kitchen expediently. However, the ambience, while beautifully decorated, is too noisy, perhaps due to the ceiling height and cement floors. The servers weren't quite at the same level the rest of the place suggested (dropping utensils, reaching in front of me at the table, not as attentive as I would have liked). Overall, however, I was pleased and will visit again."

  • "Expected really good modern Indian food. The atmosphere was modern, but not the food. The food was a bit on the sweeter side. Overall, it was okay, but I don't think we'd go back."

  • "Finally a good Indian food restaurant in the Bellevue Square area! The butter chicken was delicious. My friend liked the pan-roasted baby eggplant, but it was a little too spicy for my taste. The service was excellent and friendly. The surroundings were exotic and fun; good for groups and famly."

  • "This was my first experience with Moksha. The food was both artistic and delicious. Clearly the kitchen considers more than just fine food preparation. The meal was planned to be a visual feast. The environment captures the imagination with a suggestion of India rather than the traditional Indian visuals. The atmosphere is set through lighting, gossamer panels and the right hints of color. I like this place. A lot."
