This is a place that could be downtown, but isn't. The service and food are spectacular. You could comb the quality dining spots in small malls and never find one this good. We are lucky it so close.

The ramen buckwheat was very disappointing. $14 dollars for a tiny bowl and it didn't taste good. The shrimp gumbo was tiny and salty. Short rib wasn't substantial but really thin slices bulgogi. The kimchi pancake was mushi. Our waiter was very nice. Overall, the meal was disappointing and the bill came out to $280+ for the 4 of us (includes two round of drinks). The only saving grace was the foie gras duck dumplings, shrimp étouffée and their cocktail drinks. (White sangria and cucumber mojito)

My husband and I selected this restaurant randomly because we were going to be in the area == what a find! The hostess and all of the wait staff were friendly, welcoming and I liked the tag-team style of waiting our table where they cooperated to make sure we were served well. The scallops were excellent; the roasted kale was excellent; the dumplings were excellent and the lettuce wraps were excellent. The only dish not as impressive was the roast pork. I liked it and my husband did not. But since I'm writing this review and he isn't, it gets 5 stars!

Mokomandy offers a creative and appealing combination of Korean and Cajun tastes. Sounds weird but definitely works. The choice of small, medium and large "plates" allows the diner to construct his or her particular preference. The menu offerings are meticulously prepared and delicious. The cocktails are also outstanding - love the Hibiscus 45!

One of the best dinner experiences I have had in the past several years. We had the Ssam lettuce cups with chicken as an appetizer, the Wild Boar Bowl and the Wagyu Steak Tips for our entrees. The Wild Boar Bowl was well balanced and very fulfilling. Every bite brought my food experience to a new high. I will return to try more. I have already recommended Mokomandy to my friends.

If you were to bottle up the hip culture, stellar drinks, and out of this world food flavors of a typical D.C. Restaurant, and then ship it out to the outer fringe of the city, you'd get Mokomandy. Having dined here a couple times, it's safe to say that the Potomac Falls and surrounding neighborhood adores this place and the people come in droves. The food is phenomenal, nailing the perfect trifecta of color, texture and flavor; showcasing a unique juxtaposition of authentic Korean with soulful Louisiana. The cocktails all have a special flare about them and the servers are incredibly hospitable. Make a date night plan to get here, you won't be disappointed!

Went for dinner. Service friendly, but, sporadic. Foie Gras Dumplings were great as were the Pickled Carrot snack while the Fava Nuts were way too salty. Pork with Hoppin' John was very good, Steak Tips were, too, but forgettable; nothing special. Desserts, especially the Cobbler were good, but a bit too sweet. Oh, the cocktails weren't bad either; the Bourbon Milk Punch was very good. Overall, a pretty good meal. But, I wouldn't bother to return.

1st time for brunch...4th time overall...each time we are amazed as to how good the food is...how great the service is. Everything we have tried, food AND drinks, are beyond comparison. This is a TRULY fine dinig!! Who knew you could have this in Loudoun County??? Home of bloody near every franchise that some folks think are the greatest thing since Betty Crocker!!! HELLLO!!!! Food has come a VERY long way since the typical - and not really THAT good - toll house cookies!!! Give Mokomandy's a chance!!! Expand your palate and your mind!!! Enjoy GREAT food, at a VERY reasonable price and enjoy FANTASTIC service at a local restuarant!!! You will NOT be disappointed -BUT, if you are, go back eat again at Ruby Tuesdays!!!

Sometimes fusion goes way too far. Dishes become so cross-identified that they're just odd and not good-tasting anymore. This is not the case at Mokomandy. The restaurant fully delivers on both fronts: the food is unique and inventive, and tastes really, really good. I would recommend it to any foodie I know. It's especially perfect for those who like to share plates and try a bite of everything on the table. My boyfriend and I ate here when we found ourselves spending the night in Dulles between flights at Dulles Airport. I wish we were local so we could go back and try more.

went there on last Friday evening, the host ( in the flower print dress) was pretty nice, but the other one wasn't original they were trying to seat me near the door, and I told them I preferred the table in the middle ( same person seating), and according to her, the restaurant was fully booked through the evening, meaning I will have to leave by 8 pm if I choose to sit on a different table??? I don't get it, its the same amount of people, why can't we switch table? the food is little over price, however, it was tasty. the waitress at our table was nice and very attentive . will probably return once in a while. but be prepare for the bad host

Went here on a Saturday evening, luckily had a reservation or else we would have had to wait just like numerous others (even though there were empty tables). Food was just ok-way too salty and not worth the price tag. Service was fine, offered some suggestions and was attentive enough. Wish the food was a bit better-great concept.

Truly a neighborhood gem. We tried many items and approved of them all. The best part is that this restaurant is independent—not part of a chain or franchise, and if your tastebuds are as bored as our are of the "same ol', same ol'" of most of our area's restaurants, give this place a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised and leave with a big smile on your face.

We especially like the fact that all the food is fresh. One of our party ordered mussels, chef didn't buy them that day as he didn't like the way they looked.

Although on the expensive side, Mokomandy is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Northern Virginia. The drinks are fun and the food is not only unique, but absolutely delectable. I'm not one to usually try new things; however I never worry about this at Mokomandy. Everything is so good. For your first visit, I recommend eating at the bar so you can watch the mixologists at work.

Multiple visits to Moko have all been very good food experiences. Great drinks compliment the food. But this time the lack of staff attentiveness and old school gaffs lessened the night. Here's the thing; waiting to be greeted is one thing, waiting to be initially served at the table is one thing, waiting for said drinks until after first course arrives is one thing. Using the table to stack, then restack the finished plates to maximize carry is one thing (well actually several to an old school waiter) waiting for waiter to come by so we can request check is one thing, and waiting 15 minutes to hand someone our credit card to close is maybe two things. Maybe short staff is understandable this holiday weekend. But the lack of training?

Food and service was outstanding. Usually we go more to the Korean side...this time we leaned more Cajun and were surprised at how good it was...but the Korean side was still most appealing! The bison dumplings were excellent, and the Cajun pork dish, whose name escapes me now, but had Carolina golden rice, 3 types of heirloom beans and pork belly was more that excellent! Drinks were really good also. The cucumber mojito was amazing, and not, like most mojitos, too sweet!

Excellent food, great service and fantastic drinks. We love the potroast sliders and jambalaya. They also have a great kids menu with excellent steak, chicken tenders and fries. We were a few minutes late for our reservation and the restaurant called saying "You made a reservation and you're not here..." I don't know what she would have said had we not been on our way, but it was confrontational especially since there were a lot of open tables. We had the trio of appetizers, all of which were fried, and all of which just tasted like oil including the kimchi pancakes. We had the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and the short ribs with kimchi and fried egg. They were both tasty, somewhat heavy, and generous portions. Service was slow, and the waiter cleared our cocktail glasses before they were empty (a pet peeve). Décor is nice with comfy chairs. Trying to view the menu on the website kept crashing IE.

I would consider this place a neighborhood gem. It is a small spot in a local shopping center close to my house. This restaurant is very unique and modern. The menu selection was very simple yet very interesting. There were several items on the menu I couldn't make up my mind on choosing because they all sounded so good. Presentation of the food was definitely on point. The food had the flavor but I do have one complaint. Our food was very salty. Not sure if this was a one time thing or if the dishes we ordered regularly come like that. The sliders were extremely delicious. I would give this restaurant a second try.
