  • "Who would've thought that Korean and Cajun food could be so delicious! Just when you think you've got some idea about what the food may look or taste like, they put in a refreshing twist. It's truly fine food at a great price - sort of like one of those restaurants from an Anthony Bourdain episode."

  • "We love this place. It's our go-to date night spot. There's always something new to try on the menu, though we tend to enjoy our favorites over and over again (kale chips, fava nuts, kimchi, deviled eggs, wild boar bowl, korean scallops, etc etc.) Absolutely LOVE the new Tuna, Veg and Egg dish. And the surf and turf dumplings. So yummy! Drinks are fabulous, too, with too many good choices and more added all the time. Def check 'em out!"

  • "Mokomandy is a smaller restaurant in a shopping plaza, but the food and service is that of a higher end city restaurant. The hostess and waitstaff were super friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks were incredible. We ordered the cracklins, surf and turf dumplings to share. The dumplings were delicious and I love the seasoning they put on their cracklins! They melted in your mouth. I had the beef bulgogi and OMG was the meat tender. It was probably the best Korean food I've had. My husband had the shrimp etouffe. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the dish was flavorful but it could use a bit more heat. Overall, it was an amazing dinner and we'd definitely go back."

  • "Cerebrated my birthday (49) at Mokomandy, Jason's service was excellent (as always) as was the superb food. New discovery: Kimchi Pancakes on the starter menu... heaven!"

  • "We stumbled upon Mokomandy via Yelp, and everything we read was spot on. This stylish restaurant, tucked in a strip mall in Lowes Island, serves a super creative Korean-Cajun menu that is out of this world. The drink list was just as fun - we had a hard time choosing what to get! Service was warm, friendly, and attentive. Prices were great. Dining room is light and airy. Loved it and cannot wait to go back!"

  • "One can never go wrong in choosing Mokomandy for a leisurely meal..whether it's an early or late dinner, or even a Sunday brunch. All the dishes listed on their menu are delicious...best fusion food ever! Will never get tired of their fried kale chips, foie gras dumplings, tuna w/eggs & veggies, & wild boar bowl, to name a few of our favorites. The staff is very friendly and service always excellent...continuously checking on their customers' comfort..and keeping water glass full to the brim!"

  • "Absolutely loved it. Sharing portions great, and even if you don't want to share, it's still edible. The gumbo made me miss the South. It was delicious. I just wish it came in a bigger size. My dinner guest ate his meal after mine, but it wasn't a big a deal due to the fact they bring courses out one at a time."

  • "Absolutely the best meal we have had in a very long time. So different, so creative, and so, so delicious. From the time we were greeted at the door to the moment we left, was perfect. Each employee was friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. Hats off to the staff and the genius that does your hiring! They all made our first experience at Mokomandy very memoriable. The menu is designed to share, divided by size. My husband and I shared Korean Potroast Sliders, Foie Gras Dumplings, and Modern Korean Scallops. Can’t wait to go back and work my way through the menu! What a find and so excited we didn't have to travel to DC for a change."

  • "I had heard great things about Mokomandy so, when the opportunity came to dine out with friends who look for fantastic epicurean experiences, I booked a reservation. It did not disappoint. Everything we had was delicious - the Bulgogi was my favorite and the sliders were a very close second. The cocktails were original and amazing and the service was impeccable. The staff at Mokomandy really care about your dining experience and that is evident in the interest they take in your menu choices as well as the quality of the food."

  • "Delightful combination of unexpected taste delights. Bring friends to share lots of small plates. Works on so many levels. Drinks and small plates at the bar. Weekend brunch. Tasting party with friends. Loved the Kimchi Pancakes, Jalapeno Hush Puppies, Korean Potroast Sliders and Modern Korean Scallops. Topped it off with Beignets and French Press Coffee. Wow. Who knew that Korean and Cajun could make such a happy pairing?"

  • "We tried a mix of Korean and Cajun inspired dishes and they were all delicious! I love the way the menu is divided into snacks and small, medium and large plates--although some of the snacks turned out to be quite large! It makes it easy to share and experiment. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful, and even though it filled up, it was not too noisy, possible because we were in a corner table, but we remarked how nice it was not to have to shout. We will be going back even though getting there on a Friday night from Arlington was quite an adventure. We'll try early on Sunday evening next time!"

  • "You go for the food. Excellent menu with really vibrant and taste filled dishes. From small snacks to large plates you will find something new to love. The wild boar is to die for. The ambience is a little lacking but what can you expect from a restaurant in a strip mall. The food quality could definitely rival some similar DC restaurants however."

  • "Love that there is always something new, crab cakes with scallop binder were light and perfectly cooked. Pots du creme is a yummy dessert addition, of course, we couldn't pass up the barbecue sliders, spicy!"

  • "My friends and I dine often at Mokomandy and know it very well. This restaurant is a true gem in Potomac Falls but on the level of the highest DC, NYC or Palm Beach restaurant in everything .... cuisine, service, wine and cocktails, desserts. The small bites before dining are awesome. Kale chips (to-die-for), cucumbers, fries are a perfect companion to the selections on the fine wine list. I've sampled almost all of the medium and large plates and the presentation and taste are exquisite. Leave room for dessert and the French press coffee. Be sure to make a reservation and enjoy a fabulous dining experience!"

  • "Tried 3 new dishes this trip to share; pepper tuna ssam, crab cake and Korean scallops. Fantastic. Each a new favorite. Tuna melted in your mouth; crab cake...no filler...PERFECT and the sauce to die for and asked for bread to soak it up; Korean scallops were sweet and cooked to perfection with sauces that amazed the taste buds"

  • "The food is innovative, the chef 5 star and the place friendly and super service oriented. The wagu beef tips were to die for and we don't like grits except for Mokomandy's. All dishes we have had were the best and we like the small bites, medium and then large dishes to try a variety of food. Fantastic find that we are lucky to have in our neighborhood."

  • "First our server Jason was outstanding Extremely professional, courteous and well versed on the menu. foie dumplings were fantastic personally I would have preferred a lighter sauce almost like a broth. Drago oysters could have used a little less cooking and maybe a topping for the panko to adhere to, flavors were nice though. Biggest problem of the night was the ocean soup. Clams were nicely cooked as were the noodles, but the broth was screaming for some kind of flavor not to mention salt, I'm familiar with white beef broth and this just didn't have any depth. Maybe a veal shin or oxtails would help bump up the flavor or longer simmer.bone marrow was undercooked and the scallion pesto too bitter and under seasoned. marrow needs a brine."

  • "We loved this restaurant. The food was great and the service was just right. We enjoyed the small and medium plates which allowed us to try quite a few items. The scallops were to die for and there were many items to choose from We highly recommend this restaurant"

  • "Finally - interesting restaurant without drive to DC. No crowds at 4 pm, which meant no noise. Our server was knowledgable about both the Korean and Cajun dishes. His attention during the meal was spot on. Dividing the menu by size of offering is genius...small, medium and large plates are such a smart way to organize a meal. I am so glad to have a creative dining experience, at last. Dumplings, kale chips, sliders, fish were perfect. A little lime on the scallops brightened them. Spicy ginger beer a nice choice for non-cocktail diners. Melty chocolate dessert thing rated an unintended two-spoon sharing."

  • "My wife and I went for our anniversary. Mokomandy did not disappoint! The calamari and kale chips stand out in my mind as does my wife's drink. It was made with rye, orange, and honey. It was perfectly balanced and downright delicious. They also make their own hot sauces, so be sure to ask about them if you order the boar bowl. "

  • "Every dish we had was delicious. Especially notable were the mussels -- the plumpest, most tender I've ever had. The kitchen is quick and the server was very helpful. The fresh and fruity white wine sangria hit the spot on a warm evening. "

  • "This is an amazing find! Wonderful food, wonderful service! We enjoyed it so much, we returned the next morning for brunch! The menu is as unique as it is delicious and the drinks are creative and refreshing. This is the best restaurant I have been to in YEARS! Can't say enough good things about it. Make sure to try the Coush Coush, the Jambalaya, the Bulgogi, and the Gateau de Syrop. Portions are small enough that you can cruise through several scrumptious dishes without feeling overwhelmed. A real gem. Make sure you have reservations though, it gets (and stays) really full!"

  • "We were attending a conference in Wash DC. Mokomandy was the best dinner on the trip (beat out 2 well known DC restaurants!), well worth the 45 min drive from DC. Food was fantastic - creative, flavourful asian/korean-inspired dishes, well-priced, great, friendly, attentive service - even free parking - what more do you need! We had starters (crackling, hushpuppies and kimchi pancakes - all great), jambalaya, dumplings, tuna tartare and sliders (my personal favourite) for firsts, and for seconds, we had wagyu tips, wild boar bowl, scallops and mixed grill of game - all fantastic. Unique deserts as well - try the bochi cake. While the wine selection could have been greater, they had a great beer selection. Will return every time in the area!"

  • "I am a huge fan of Mokomandy. The cuisine is spectacular. Be sure to try the kale, fries and cucumbers while you sip one of their fantastic specialty cocktails or exceptional fine wines! On this occasion, I sampled the Korean Pork Sliders and my friend tried the Gumbo. Both were perfect and wonderful. I love their fish specials and highly recommend. The ramen soup is so very good too. We are fans of the beignets and haven't found any that compare in the DC area! Mokomandy's yummy French roast coffee is the best way to end the meal. Executive Chef and Owner Thaddeus Kim is a genius in the kitchen! This restaurant would get a 10-star rating for perfection if OpenTable allowed! : )"

  • "We went on a Sunday afternoon but ate off the regular menu. Everything was very good. Because we were a larger group we were able to try many things off the menu and everyone got a taste. Might get a bit loud at night if they are full."

  • "My husband and I eat at Mokomandy fairly often. We have never been disappointed as they have such a varied and eclectic menu. This time, we brought two other couples with us. They let us guide them in their ordering as they loved it just as much as we did. Their cocktails are also all amazing and we certainly tried as many of them as we could. Highly recommend a visit to Mokomandy!"
