A word from Moderne Barn
The Livanos family, owners of Oceana, Molyvos and Abboccato in Manhattan, are opening the Moderne Barn, American restaurant and an extensive wine cellar. Personal wines are welcome, corkage fee applies, $45.

For your next special occasion, inquire about our specialty cakes. We would be happy to assist you with pricing and details. We do require one week advance notice. If you are interested in bringing your own cake, we do have a $3 plate fee per person.

  • "Great place not far from our home, we only knew it existed because of an advertisement at Westchester County Airport. We went in a group of three adults, two children. Ambiance on a Saturday night was buzzy, to the point of being loud. Food was good, plenty of choice for everyone. I had Sea Bass, which was cooked and presented perfectly; the accompanying carrot ginger saffron sauce was a little bland though. My son's pasta Bolognase was really tasty, and the were able to serve a half-size portion which I appreciate. My daughter's hamburger was great, and came with the most delicious rosemary french fries (and there were almost enough for the whole table). Table service well-paced and attentive. Definitely be back."

  • " Open floor seating. So if you want a quiet place this is not it. The staff is friendly and accommodating, but not of 5 star caliber. Typical American fair. Good, but not great and somewhat pricey for what is offered. Beautiful restaurant and busy bar."

We handled our special dietary restrictions and food allergies to perfection. Double checking with the kitchen and made sure our table was handled correctly from begginning to end. The food was creative and delicious. I can't wait to return and we will be sure to ask for Marrissa again."

  • "We have eaten here many time and always loved it. Not Friday night!! Not sure what was going on this evening but the service was horrible. We were a table of six. The check w/o tip totaled $450 so we weren't skimping. Left feeling cheated The waitress was sour, didn't smile, didn't pay attention to us and was all around miserable. Bad service certainly casts a spell over the evening. One of our party had to send his steak back to the kitchen. What was ordered as medium rare, arrived well done. They were very courteous and made this happen without issue. question is what happened to begin? Our wine service however was terrific..."

Even veal milanese was well below par. Service level matched the food...so no help there. We love the place but frankly will think again before going."

  • "Whenever I go to Moderne Barn I still get surprised by the depth of their menu. From pizza to salads to gourmet entrees; everyone can find something here to eat. The good is consistently good to very good but the Nonna's meatballs are outstanding. The noise level is lively but if you prefer a more quiet area, ask to be seated upstairs. Eating at Moderne Barn can be a weekly visit or a special treat depending on your craving!"

  • "Excellent food, and attentive service make this a favorite of locals and foodies who come from far away. Reservations are definitely recommended as for both lunch and dinner, tables fill quickly and diners tend to linger over conversation, for meetings or celebrations. It can get very noisy at night, but there is an option of dining on the balcony, which cuts down a bit on the noise, but takes you out of the action! Ample parking on site, too."

  • "I've been to Moderne Barn a half dozen times for dinner and loved it. But yesterday I tried something new...as in, lunch at Moderne Barn. I took two, perpetually hungry, foodie college students there and ordered a couple of appetizers for the table....calamari and the Thai crab egg rolls. Excellent sandwiches followed and a Barn salad topped in the hangar steak I so dearly love at dinnertime. The bill was a lot lower than I expected and yet, with the very full lunch menu, we still got a wonderful Moderne Barn experience."

  • "We, party of 2, were seated at one of the banquettes, comfortable enough but likely a challenge to enter or exit with a full house. Our martinis were competent but a touch weak. Large menu. We began with mussels and chicken wings. Mussels came on a thick slice of grilled sourdough--nice touch. The wings had a tasty ginger glaze but came with an incongruous blue cheese dip. Kale salad was nice if slightly under dressed. Our entrees of duck and pork chop were well cooked. A "locally caught" striped bass was offered as a special, only no striped bass was being caught near Armonk NY in March 2014. Beignets for dessert were perfectly sized but lacked sweetness. Good service, both table and wine. Can recommend and will return but with no rush."

  • "Moderne Barn had a very relaxed feel - it was an extremely comfortable place. We had the Lobster Bisque with the Bread from the table. It was delicious. We both chose the the thick pork chop with the polenta. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The polenta was an excellent side dish. The wine was good as well. We were too full to enjoy the dessert but did take it to go. I would definitely go to Moderne Barn again to try their other entree's."

  • "4 of us had dinner on 3/23. The meal was fine in every way, except that my piece of perfectly cooked salmon was underseasoned. I've eaten there several times, and would not judge this too harshly. This is the only disappointment we've ever had there. The service was excellent. We will definitely return."

Some restaurants, not all, I feel like they are not happy to see you during Restaurant week and this was one of them. I felt like we needed to apologize to our waitress for showing up during Restaurant week. She was not pleasant or friendly. Even thou the service was unfriendly we will go back because we really enjoyed the food."

The Meyer Lemon cheesecake was a winning choice, but the other two diners did not enjoy the beignets, they were over done and hard. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, even though it is a large space. Great wine list. Overall I would recommend Moderne Barn."

  • "Food for Restaurant Week was good. Salmon a bit overdone, but replaced with enthusiasm. Wanted to tip bartender for the perfect Godiva Martini, but was advised that all tips are shared. That's OK, only we were not impressed with our waiter. Waitress from another table was far more helpful. Lighting was very very dim, could not read menu w/out flashlight. Hostess was very pleasant, we were seated immediately, even though we arrived late (did notify them). We understand that it might be a bit quieter on upper level, will try that the next time!"
