Diner Reviews
  • "a GREAT place for breakfast.. , fantastic service from people like TWANIA and LUIS. especially.. The NEW LOOK is really ...well..more like a "cafeteria" than a first class restaurant, ALL VERY uninviting, cold and impersonal..... but the service and food[ for breakfast] is a perfect way to start the day...."

  • "Didn't start dinner service till 6PM, which was a bit late. Bar was very noisy, as was the dining room. Outside of that, a really nice place."

  • "I took my daughter for her birthday for brunch, our experience was good. The service was excellent and our waitress she was the best. The only thing is they didn't do anything for my daughter's birthday like bring a dessert out but other than that it was good."

  • "Used to go there all the time for lunch when it was " SEASONS", but the makeover for us is disastrous,, cold stark, very "fast food joint look". took out ALL the romance and elegance and replaced it with different shades of brown tones and black tones, and now looks like a fast food "joint" rather than what you would expect from the 4 seasons... We stopped going, for LUNCH , but we MISSED the fantastic service and wonderful food.. I discovered it again but this time , FOR BREAKFAST . a GREAT place to go for a really wonderful concoction of breakfast delights.. Served by their impeccable and friendly staff.. a spectacular way to start the day..... forget LUNCH, DO THE BREAKFAST FARE.. its wonderful."

  • "My wife and I were celebrating her promotion and MKT was recommended to us by a colleague. They said it was a really nice place with great food. We couldn't agree more. Absolutely everyone who was on staff that night was amazing. Our waiter provided one of the best experiences we've ever had dining out. He was attentive, knowledgeable, very flexible with the menu, and in addition to the great food, a big reason why we will go back. The Cesar salad and french fry appetizers were really good. The steak and swordfish entrees were amazing, and the carrot cake and sorbet desserts were the perfect ending to a great dining experience. Highly recommended!"

  • "New decor is harsh & cold. Noise level almost unbearable. Food & service very good, but won't go back because of noise. It was much better when it was Seasons"

  • "Conducted a business breakfast meeting for 8 people on a weekday at the MKT (4 Seasons). Parking garage is near and access was easy. Clients found the place without issue. Seating was great and they have a open view to the kitchen. Services was nice and food was well prepared."

  • "I had lunch here (by myself) while attending a conference in SF. For a table of one I feel I had excellent service - attentive and friendly. (and quick - they weren't too busy though.)The hostess was very friendly also. Sometimes if you are on your own you don't see much of your waiter/waitress, but the service was great. Loved the salmon salad I had."

  • "This place used to be really good. Now not so much, but still quite expensive. I ordered a waffle with "maple" syrup. I got log cabin. I complained and got a shrug, told that they've gotten complaints before and will "talk to the chef". No attempt at service recovery, no asking if I would like something else instead. This is the four seasons, not Denny's. They should either change the menu or start serving what's on it. My companion's vegetarian panini was "ok". The coffee was burned, even though it came in a carafe. Service was slow and disorganized, far below what I expect of a four seasons. At these prices that's just going to cut it. There are lots of excellent dining spots in SF, this is no longer one of them. Go elsewhere."

  • "bay style omelette tasts very good but a bit greasy. i think if we add jalapeno, it would be greater. overall, our group were very happy to have breakfast! any time we have a plan in town, we will def. go again!"

  • "Been going to the "seasons “for years [ lunch menu] , and was sadly [ like hundreds of other people who frequented the establishment in the past] was disappointed with their new disastrous uneventful lunch menu in the NEW MKT restaurant. So we now have found a way to FINALLY RETURN. It’s the BREAKFAST MENU... . There are Wonderful appointments and always the same fantastic service, with an outstanding crew. Too bad the menu is presented is on cheap newspaper. I guess elegance and the reputation for class has been thrown out the window. The bar makeover is great, can’t comment on the DINNER fare as I haven't tried it, but the PEROGIS look WONDERFUL,. Can’t wait to go back[ AGAIN] for the BREAKFAST. It’s SPECTACULAR"

  • "I had high expectations for this restaurant and there were some highs and some unfortunate lows. The highs were their tapas menu and strong libations. Their lows were the desserts and $7 glass of milk for my son. The best dish was the crisp mani take mushroom followed closely by the bass and the short rib. They sure know how to prepare purees and pickles. And the proteins were perfectly cooked. The desserts were uninspired though their descriptions sounded inspired and delicious. What we got in reality were odd textures and monotonous colours on white plates. And really? $7 for a glass of milk? It was the same price as my cappuccino that required more labour. Hmmmmmm. Overall, the experience was positive so I would come again."

  • "Let me start by saying this is certainly not the cheapest breakfast meal you will have (which you should know since its in the Four Season's hotel), but it is a great place to grab breakfast early and get your day started on the right track. Beautiful big windows that allows you to look out over market street and watch as it gets busier. Food was outstanding - our group had a little bit of everything Bay Omelet - highly recommend! More than enough dungeness crab Steel cut oatmeal - what you would expect, but excellently preparred Fruit plate was big enough to satisfy anyone looking for a healthy but substantial start Lemon Ricotta Griddle Cakes - very sweet but so light and flavorful! yum!"

  • "Noon on Market is normally loud, crowded and uninpressive food. This place is the complete opposite. My salad was fantastic and their Arnold Palmer with both tea and lemon flavored ice cubes was an unexpected treat."

  • "Took me a while to find this place, because it's on the 5th floor of the Four Seasons, and the elevator is all the way in the back of the hotel. This place was fairly empty, perhaps for the reason stated above, but it was great! My cocktails, appetizers, and entrée were all delicious, and our waitress was attentive (I really appreciated that she would come by and update us on the status of our order if it was taking slightly longer than normal). When our drinks took too long to come out, we were offered a window table that had just been vacated without having to ask. It was a very nice place that I would absolutely return to. (PS Try the roasted curry cauliflower - it wasn't what I expected but it was super delicious!)"

  • "On our way to the Orpheum, our group stopped here for brunch. From the seperate room for dining with a beautiful city view, to the OUTSTANDING service and delicious food this was a most delightful dining experience! Additionally, we were able to park at a discounted rate in the hotel garage and enjoy a city walk to the theatre!"

  • "The second day were were in SF we tried MKT and have been going aback every morning for breakfast. The food has been great and so has been the service. They have the best bloody marys I have every had! We try something different every day- love the eggs and the lemon hotcakes as well."

  • "Food and service were perfect. Portions were very generous. It was an off- hour, so quiet. Waiter was, nevertheless, very attentive. Dishes were creative, unlike others' descriptions of "nothing special". Would definitely go back and recommend to others."

  • "After the renovation -- still great food and service, good menu mix, and good down-town big city view setting. Too much noise now. Difficult to converse and be heard. Also, the decor has become too hard/bright. The bar is great for a young bar scene but needs to be somewhat more separated from the formal dining area. Need to soften the interior dining-room environment (carpets?? partitions?? ceiling sound deflectors?? Ask someone who does this for a living.)"

  • "The bar was great. The bartender was fun and helpful in choosing the wine that we wanted. The dinner menu was not good. The selection of foods didn't appeal to either of us, and in fact the scallops tasted very off. We left the restaurant very disappointed."
    Dined on 11/30/2013
  • "We found the experience and food pretty average, and with so many fabulous restaurants in the city, we wouldn't return."
    Dined on 11/28/2013
  • "Be very careful: their wine list will list vintages they are "out of at the moment". They will then bring a sub-standard year and charge you full price for the vintage listed. When challenged on this point they will say you could have made another selection. Yet every premium selection we asked about was "out at the moment". Service is slow, not terribly attentive in a room with only a few diners. The decor is recently renovated and significantly downgraded from what came before. The steaks are good but there are better options in the city. I won't return."

  • "The MKT team were incredibly accommodating. We had several schedule changes and a need to rush food so that my customers could attend other events. It was a great restaurant, located right near Moscone, where we could quickly get away to have meetings without an immense amount of noise. Thanks!"

  • "The bar area is very cozy and vibrant. The restaurant in my opinion is not as private as it used to be but the whole area remake is a success. The food is very good as always. Glad to be able to have lunch there regularly."

  • "The redesigned MKT within the Four Seasons Hotel in SF is simply a delightful and sumptuous experience for brunch. My daughter and I were looking for a "grown up" experience for her 17th birthday brunch and this was the best choice. The open floor plan, huge windows and cosmopolitan feel of the space and surroundings was just what my daughter wanted to mark this special day. She felt grown up, feted and the staff did a great job at wishing her a happy birthday with little touches like a greeting when we checked in with the hostess to the salutation written on her breakfast plate. The food was also really good and fresh. I appreciated the server's honest opinion on what to order and we enjoyed our selections immensely."

  • "Food turned out to be a disappointment. Nothing to write home about or to remember by. Overall a mediocre New American style restaurant. If I can use the Zagat score when it was still membership based, this restaurant would be 21 out of 30, which is a huge disappointment for a top hotel in a top city in the country."

  • "Comfortable atmospher and nice service. The waiters know what their doing, but reception was quite confused. MKT had a wedding event there during brunch and they seemed a little overwhelmed. The brunch was nice, but portions are SUPER SMALL! We all had potatoes included in our breakfast and each of us got probably 4-5 small potatoes. We all left wanting more."
