The sophisticated dining room is located on the second floor overlooking the city’s spectacular views.

    If your plans include more than 50 people, mk’s main dining room is perfect for a lunch or evening event. Evening events are subject to a food and beverage minimum. mk’s staff can help pair the perfect wine with each course. Event planner Kate will coordinate any flower arrangements, AV and sound equipment as well as special food and wine menus for your event.

We have renovated our bar, lounge, and dining room and Chef Erick and his team have a beautiful new spring menu along with a small bite menu available only in the bar and lounge. Our new bar features window seating and more than 60 new craft spirits to choose from. Our private dining room with its skyline views is suitable for all of your catering and special event needs.

  • "I selected MK for our anniversary dinner during a weekend in Chicago. We were not disappointed. Our waiter Scott was outstanding, attending to every need without being overbearing. I chose the chef tasting menu which was outstanding. My wife ordered a la carte. Perhaps it was the tasting menu, but I rate this in my top three dining experiences. The swordfish was the best fish I have ever put into my mouth and I told the waiter that, with fish like that who needs beef."

  • "From the moment we walked in the door, our experience was above and beyond all expectation. We were looking for something in downtown Chicago that was more than just a steak house. The service here is something to take special note of. Our napkins were refolded when we came back from the restroom, our water never made past half way, bread was presented throughout the meal (as opposed to all at once), and the server know the menu like he owned the restaurant. The suggestions made were all based on what we were telling him, not what was popular. The food was no different. Proteins melt in your mouth, portions were generous, dessert was off the charts, and the selection at every turn was impressive. Easily what I consider 5 star dining."

  • "A recent last minute decision to visit MK was very nicely rewarded with a refreshed interior to the classic reclaimed warehouse style restaurant that was its original signature, beyond food and wine. To our delight, the wine list was modern, approachable, with something for everyone in taste and price range, food was the very freshest and innovative but not pretentious, and the staff was friendly almost jovial, and helpful. It was surprisingly loud, which surprised us although it later was minimized. Overall, we'd give it high marks and encourage others to visit knowing they will have a great meal to remember. We won't be shy of re-introducing others to this fine icon of the Chicago dining experience."

  • "It had been three or four years since my last visit to MK. The menu changed to be more Mediterranean than before. Lots of seafood in the menu. They became more capable to express the nuance of the broth, and we liked it. We ordered White fish/Lobster and Duck for main, and both of us were extremely satisfied with the taste and presentation. Dessert was too big for us. I wish they can serve in a more decent portion and in more sophisticated way at least for the last course. Oh, also, they have not idea between Cointreau and Grand Manier. Bad. The overall experience was good. I decide not to give full score on service only because we did not get the table we liked. I booked three weeks ahead of time, the reservation was 5:30."

  • "Went here for GF birthday . Was seated by 4 top turned to 5 top. Servers constantly squeezing by to serve rest of dining room and bumping into chair. Asked to be moved as soon as this occurred and before even being seated and offered isolated table on second floor so stayed put. Food was standard interesting but heavy on salt. Salt with bread; salt in summer salad; salt with soft shell crabs."

  • "I celebrated my birthday here with my parents and we were all so pleased with our dining experience. The food, cocktails, wine, dessert and service were all top notch. We also were seated upstairs in the restaurant which had a great view of all the tables below. Moreover, the restaurant was able to customize the menu headings to mention it being my birthday and I was able to choose the two desserts I wanted brought out with a candle to seal the celebration. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great date night spot or celebrating a special occasion."

  • "Good food - great presentation - slow service. My wife ordered the white fish and lobster - great dish. I ordered the chefs tastings menu - very good but not worth the price tag nor the wait. I actually preferred my wife's dish compared to my 6 dishes - not to mention it was 1/2 the price of mine on top of it. Our biggest complaint for the evening would be time...3 hrs for a dinner for 2 is very long...My wife was finished with her meal and I still had 3 more plates coming...she was almost asleep before dinner was over :)"

  • "We came to Chicago last weekend to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. MK was the crown jewel of the weekend. We'd made a reservation, but our show got out early, so we got to the restaurant early. We had a drink at the bar and they got us a table far earlier than we anticipated. Everyone that worked at the restaurant was friendly and personable. When we were seated, they provided us with a personalized specials menu that said "Happy Birthday" to my wife, which was a really nice touch. The wine and both our meals were wonderful. I had a steak, and the flavors jumped out at me on the first bite. Desserts were very good, and were presented wonderfully. They even wrote happy birthday in chocolate on my wife's plate! Highly recommend!"

  • "MK provides the perfect balance between friendly and formal with its exposed brick walls of a former paint factory crossed with lovely linens, smart service and fine food. Soft shell crab was on the menu as an entree, and they agreed to make just one for my husband as an appetizer. It was not breaded so just the crab flavor came through, and it was beautifully presented with pea tendrils. He then had the duck breast which was perfectly cooked. I opted for the seared tuna which was also just right. We ordered their famous s'mores dessert (yum!), but because it was my birthday, we also received a second dessert for free... a nice touch! Manager Jennifer stopped by for a chat; all in all a wonderful meal!"

  • "My wife loved her tuna. My steak was cooked perfectly, but it was severely over salted. The fries were over-salted as well, but the aioli dipping sauce was delicious. My garlic soup with lobster was bland. Our server was extremely nice, as was the hostess who chatted us up about the desserts. But unfortunately our server had too many tables, and she could not balance. Our entrees arrived before we finished our appetizers. And we waited a long time to order. Also, our water glasses were not refilled until after we had finished our meals. Overall we still had a nice time, but for the price, we expected a little bit better."

From the knowledgable and articulate bartender to the well dressed Host / Manager our experience started off with excellent energy and attention. As we proceeded to the table we were greeted with a very engaging, knowledgable server with an accent that was very charming. As the Sommelier / GM Paul, assisted us through our experience he Expertly paired bottle after bottle of their AWESOME wine list with Chef's AMAZING Dishes. In my opinion it was the most perfectly seasoned food overall that I've ever enjoyed at any restaurant. If you want to have an amazing dining experience MK WILL Deliver!"

  • "MK lived up to our expectations...superior dining & service without totally breaking the bank. We loved the design & layout. Very imaginative use of space. I have only two criticisms: 1. The entree portion could have been larger. The duck, which was perfectly prepared, must have been the smallest duck on the farm, as each thin slice, without the fat skin pad, was no bigger than my thumb. Lentils are cheap; why did I get only about 3 tablespoons full? I thought the background music selection was too loud & choices of music did not match the elegance of the room & staff. We appreciated the recognition of our special occasion. The octopus appetizer was superb, but again, could have been larger. Service was perfect."

It was really nice of the pastry chef to come by at the end of the meal, but was disappointed that chef Erick didn't stop by to say happy birthday as we spent a bundle of money (seriously - a bundle on just three of us!) while he was visiting the table across from us that ordered hardly anything but was obviously a VIP of some sort."
