MJ's Steak and Seafood RestaurantAmazing ExperienceThe food was great. I had a scallop with lobster mashed potatoes (large chunks of lobster) and it was the perfect. The waitstaff was extremely friendly and knowledgable concerning product as well as food allergy information. I would definitely go there again. They are supposed to have live music on the weekends, but with the weather they did not. We had clam chowder, grouper, rack of lamb and angolati pasta dishes - all were outstanding. The desserts and French pressed coffee were excellent. The service, wine list and ambiance were great. We sat outside - they have a fantastic patio! The food for our meal was good although I felt my salmon was without much flavor. Everything else served was very good and had some unique qualities such as homemade pimento cheese with prosciutto and dried fruit for an appetizer. The desserts were especially good. At our table, we had the vanilla bean chocolate cake and the pineapple coconut cake. Very good. The service was superb. We were very well taken care of. Perhaps this is because I really didn't know what to expect of a restaurant in Greensboro, as we were visiting. It was very good, indeed. My family of four had salads, salmon, fish of the day, and a steak. All were very well prepared and presented, and were quite yummy. Nice wine list. The restaurant is in a charming house, and the back porch area looked like a fun place to dine, had it not been chilly. The food was excellent and prepared to your liking. I definitely recommend the pimento cheese appetizer.
