  • "We were looking for a Japanize hibachi restaurant in the Lone Tree/Parker area and chose Miyama based on their web-site claim for ambiance. Their claim was well founded. I'd call it elegant contemporary Japanize. But that was just the start. We were a party of eight including the grandkids, 7 and 10, celebrating our son-in-law's birthday, and all were well entertained by the hibachi chef. Everyone loved their food choices, even the grandkids. Their is a very nice wine list, reasonably priced, and the cocktails are generous. The service was outstanding. We made a good choice. Hope you do too. We'll be back."

I would recommend getting the Monkey Brain appetizer - it leads to discussion, yet it's really good. I've been to Miyama before, but have always had some sort of teriyaki. This time I tried the Take Sushi platter with California, Yellow Tail, and Crunchy Roll sushi. It was delicious."

  • "Tried out this tepanyaki grill experience for Restaurant Week, and did enjoy it. Food was good, grill chef was capable and entertaining, other staff remarkably courteous and efficient. However at the new Restaurant Week price of $60 for two this was more expensive than usual dinner deals or even regular menu. The restaurant really did not/could not add value to this dining experience from the cost angle. They should throw in a bottle of wine to make it any kind of deal--in the meantime they oddly upcharged the bottle by $1 over what was on the printed wine list, and indeed on their website--do they not think their customers are observant? But we enjoyed it, it would be fun for out-of-town guests, especially with children."

  • "We ate at one of the Teppen tables - was fine but nothing special. Egg rolls were not good. Gyoza may have been good but no dipping sauce came with them so took a lot away from the full flavor for us. Can't talk very easily among a group because that room is so noisy but if going for the show of the chef and don't want to have to make smalltalk, this would be a great place. If we get down there we may try their regular dining room."

  • "We eat at The Mt. Fuli Japanese Steak House in Westminster at least once a month. So we thought we would try a new Japanese Teppan restaurant. We were just a little disappointed with the service and quality of food. We watched several chefs put on great shows for the guests at other tables but when our chef did his show for us it was just a little lacking from what we saw. We were also looking forward to fried noodles and they don't even offer them. That might be my fault for not looking to see if they serve them I just assumed they did..."

  • "This was our 3rd trip to this location. The prior two trips in 2012 and 2013 were routinely pleasant dining experiences, but the staff on this most recent trip was either having a bad night, or they had the B team in. From the waitress to the bartender to the sushi chef to the hibachi chef, they were ALL having a really off night. The waitress messed up our order, the sushi chef didnt roll any of the rolls correctly and they fell apart, the hibachi chef knocked over several water glasses and the broken glass bounced off the floor and landed on our plates, in our food. to top that off, throughout the night it took 15-20 minutes to get a single drink back from the bar. the manager comped our alcohol, but that isnt enough to bring us back."

Believe me I'm not expecting great food when I walk into a place like this, but the food just wasn't good. I think a lot of these restaurants have turned into a Bobby McGees type place, if you're old enough to remember them, great for entertainment, not so great for food."

  • "We planned a special evening, made reservations and were looking forward to dining here. We arrived and checked in. It took an extended period of time to be seated even though there were open areas and we had reservations. We finally get seated and handed our menus. It was very loud in there so the waitress had a hard time hearing our drink orders. We get our drinks and make our dinner order. The soup arrived which was good and along came this salad which was nothing more than lettuce drinched in soy sauce. We both put ours aside and waited for dinner. The food was overpriced and everything was drinched in soy sauce and some sort of white grease to the point where neither of us felt well after we left."

  • "Well. i had reservations at 7:30 for my date and I. Finally we got seated next to a bunch of kids in a corner room. It was extremely noisy and there was no privacy.. not to mention the kid next to me was playing video games. Eventually , we requested to move to a more quiete table where we were seated next to a family with children. Long story short.... the chef never arrived until 75 minutes after being reseated. I complained to the manager who asked "what do you guys want in return?" Who asks that. I said, as a manager it is your responsibility to restitute the situation, not mine. What a joke. I felt bad for the poor family next to me. They had young children and by the time we ate, it was way past their bed time. Last time i go there."

  • "My husband and I chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner based off recommendations from friends. The food was absolutely amazing, the prices were competitive, the open fireplace was very romantic (didn't sit for the habachi grill), and the staff was very pleasant. One thing we didn't like so much was that the waitress spilled my husbands full glass of sake and didn't replace it free of charge. For folks on a tight budget, every drop counts in their celebration. However, this will not keep us from returning. Next time we'd like to sit at the sushi bar to be able to interact with the sushi chefs!"

  • "We went for NYE dinner and everything was very nice. Our reservation was on time, we actually went to the bar but the hostess came over as we were about to order our drinks. I had requested a teppanyaki style meal to which we were shown to a room with a teppan table that had two grills and could seat a total of 17, really 8 per grill but plenty of room for the odd number. Being in the room was awesome, the noise level is contained to the group dining in the room. We were seated as the other party of 8 was near the end of their meal, their timing was perfect. The service and the food was fantastic, the restaurant is very clean. I hope it's successful and is around a long time."

They never came out to sing, yet they came twice to the surrounding tables. Very disappointed in the service. I informed who I thought was the manager and while he apologized, I didn't feel it was sincere for how upset I was."

  • "We stopped by this restaurant on a whim one night and it was awesome! They have excellent teppanyaki (where they cook the food on the table right in front of you) and the chefs are also talented with little tricks and shows as they cook the food (they even make a volcano out of onion slices!) Our chef (Ricardo) was very friendly and prepared excellent food, and Kaoru, our lovely Japanese waitress was awesome! I loved the fact that she was also willing to practice speaking Japanese with us, since we had interest in the language. Everyone was friendly and skilled in their work. The food was delicious! I recommend it to everyone, it is a real treat!"

  • "Japanese hibachi is one of my favorite cuisines,but this restaurant missed the mark. The miso soup and the salad dressing were not very good. Every thing else was just OK. I can't quite place my finger on it but the food was just not as tender and tasty as I have eaten at other similar restaurants. Nothing so wonderful to make me return. Usually I crave these flavors and savor ever bite and sauce. We ate there at 7pm on Saturday night and the restaurant was not crowded at all. I'll be surprised if this restaurant stayed in business for much longer. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and quieter than other hibachi restaurants with it's lower ceiling, it just needs to really improve the quality of the food or the chefs."

  • "We have been going to the restaurant for several years on Christmas Eve. It had become a tradition. Our son looks forward to catching shrimp in his mouth as the chef flings them but this time we got someone with less experience. The way he served the table some people had to wait a lot longer than others to eat, and he did not do the trick with the shrimp or spinning the eggs -we were shocked. I know people have to have time to get up to speed but Christmas eve is not the time. We were very disappointed and think next year we will try a different place."

Our chef was personable and funny and did a great job entertaining us. The food was amazing. I like that a small scoop of ice cream is part of the experience. It was the perfect amount to satisfy a sweet tooth. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "We have dined at Miyama before with friends and had a great time. While it is expensive it was a special occasion. We must have gotten a chef that was in training - he was very slow, did not make a show of it and didn't divide the chicken correctly so that I didn't get any. I realize that not every cook is going to be great every time, but since we don't eat out often we were looking to have a good time and did not. It was disappointing to the girls that had never been there before since we told them how much fun it would be. Icing on the cake was that as we were leaving a couple and their 2 sons sat at the table next to us and their chef started right up with the show and was everything we had hoped to have at our table, but did not."

  • "My father told me to pick a place to take me out for dinner for my 33rd birthday, I love sushi, and the Teppan Tables. I have been everywhere in Colorado Springs, and Castle Rock! After moving to castle rock area, i drove by this place when i was up shopping in the park meadows area. What can i say EXCELLENT!!!!! Great staff, Great Atmosphere, AWESOME FOOD! Friendly cooks. SAKI kept coming and coming.....I had a blast. Thanks Miyama for the best sushi night out. I had a great time."
