A word from Mixto
Mixto is a two-story natural wood and exposed brick building located on the east side of downtown Philadelphia on the historic Antique Row. We have been opened for ten consecutive years. Our vision has been to bring an array of flavors of the Cuban, Latin American and Caribbean cuisine to the Center City area.

We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with bar service and an extensive wine selection.

Mixto offers outdoor dining with a South Beach Miami ambiance during the spring, summer & fall when the weather permits.

Diner Reviews
  • "A friend recommended this restaurant to me so I took my family there to check it out. It was Very Good! The food, service, and atmosphere made for a great evening. I will definitely go there again."

  • "Mixto never disappoints. We are from Baltimore and every time we are in Philly we eat here. Have gotten different dishes and have never been disappointed."

  • "I came here with my best friend and boyfriend and everything was great!! I usually get take out orders from here and the food is always great but I actually sat and had dinner and the experience was amazing. Great food, strong drinks, spectacular service. I usually didn't understand how people leave things behind at the table once they leave but after sharing two pitchers of amazing alcoholic drinks I could see how it's easy to leave your credit card, sunglasses, keys, and sobriety (whoopsss). It's a great time just don't come in to expect so much despite all the great reviews (even though I stand behind all my stars given). Just enjoy what comes your way and you'll understand what I mean. Thanks oscar 😘"

  • "I enjoyed my meal and drinks during each visit. Great place for date night. Groups tend to gather there as well."

  • "This was my second time at Mixto. We had gone for brunch previously (the food is just as awesome at brunch). This time we went for dinner. The prices are reasonable. The food is incredible. We ordered the mixed platter of appetizers; everything on it was delicious. Also, we were able to request a menu substitution without any problems (tostones for maduros). The portion size was perfect. My son had the steak-it was incredible! I had the vaca frita, I had never had that before but would definitely go back to have it again. This is one of my family's favorite spots to eat in Philly. It is a small cozy setting and the service and food are wonderful."

  • "The food is amazing! Great deals on mimosas and bloody marys. They had the best mojito menu I've ever seen!"

  • "You can find all kinds of international flavors at Mixto. The food is really good and so as the drinks. Everything is good so don't hesitate to try new things and experiment! Thank you Julio (General Manager), he made our dinner very special!"

  • "The food was bland. Their homemade hot sauce, a definite must, was good. Cuba Libre has better food. Mixto makes a great Mojito. Portions are large."

  • "My party of six had a great time at Mixto. The Ecuadorian breakfast was a big hit!"

  • "Was there with wife and another couple as the first time for 3 of us. The food and service was outstanding. Will be going again. I don't see anyway that anyone will be disappointed."

  • "Mixto has consistently good food. On this visit, we made a meal out of the happy hour appetizers, and it was great. I highly recommend Mixto for a fun, casual meal. Good prices, good food. Great mojitos!"

  • "Happy hour is great- good selection of options priced at $5. For example 3 empanadas were $5 (I ordered cheese) and they were delicious. Main courses run from $16+. I got the scallops and they were good. Service could be better. I'll be back."

  • "Excellent spot for a Friday night out dining with friends. I love the energy here. We ordered the ceviche and guacamole as appetizers and they were excellent!! The food sounded promising, but I give it only 3 stars -- tasty, but nothing to brag about."

  • "My girlfriend and I ate and drank at Mixto recently. The Mojitos were the best I have had in Philadelphia! The waiter really took care of us and his recommendations were perfect. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant for dinner and drinks."

  • "Loved the decor/ambience and it has a nice cocktail menu (and cocktails were large and very good). To the food: Had the seafood Paella which was mediocre at best. The seafood didn't taste fresh and the lobster, in particular, had a chalky, frozen taste. Too much money charged for the quality. Also, Mixto, please use small clams and mussels and not giant ones like you do. Bigger does not mean better when it comes to shellfish. The mussels tasted like low tide, a bit overcooked and mushy, and the clams were rubbery. When you have to cut a mussel with a knife to eat it, it's too big. Might go back to try some of the other items on the menu as it has some interesting options, but won't be in a rush to do so. Service was decent."

  • "The waiter, Lenny had great personality and gave an awsome service, service was quick and on the spot, food was amazing. Very hispanic touch with the avocado which you hardly find in a restaurant.... it was me and my wife's 2nd time we will deffinetlly be there again and again. "

  • "Decided on Mixto when we couldn't get into el Vez but still wanted the latin flavor. The cocktails here are delish and offered in both traditional flavors and exotic. With such good drinks I was let down by the appetizer menu, would have liked to see less fried and more fresh options as the ambiance and mood lend themselves to a place you want to start you night with friends. Nice entrees with fair size portions. "

  • "Spent $95 on dinner and the waiter forgot to put my paella order in with the other entree. I had to get it to go by the time it came out. No apology and nothing was offered to be comped like the salad. I still tipped the full 20% but wish i had not. Disappointed!"

  • "Have been at Mixto twice last week -- once for brunch and once for dinner. Such a nice place. The food is good and the service while not perfect is usually fine. I love the food. The atmosphere is great; everyone seems to be having a good time. There are outdoor tables and the large inside windows open out. Mixto is a great place to go for authentic food and a wonderful atmosphere."

  • "E went to Mixto to celebrate my daughter's college graduation. The service was great and the food and drinks superb. They even alter a couple of the brunch items to suit the particular tastes of members of our party. Mixto is definitely a place we would return to."

  • "I was responsible for finding a restaurant for Saturday night for college friends coming into town for our 25th reunion. Its always hard to find a place that will make everyone happy. I had not been to Mixto before but the reviews prompted me. Mixto was a hit and every enjoyed their food immensely. They were also very accommodating as we arrive about 30 minutes late. It was a busy weekend in the city and getting cabs and traveling through the city took time. We appreciate their understanding. I can't wait to come back."

  • "My family enjoyed dinner here on a Friday evening. We were a bit surprised at just how noisy it was. The waitress said if you think it's noisy down stairs, you should hear it on the top level. That said, the food was very good."

  • "Food was quite exquisite. However, our entrees came out more than an hour apart after we got our appetizers. Even though the server took the entrees off the check, the overall experience was greatly affected. I took my mother to celebrate Mother's Day, and she was less than impressed, even though she did not say anything. It was a bit embarrassing because I had raved about this place to her. "

  • "NO COSTUMER SERVICE SKILLS!!!! i was a little late and they cancelled my reservation on mothers day, they don't offer any parking so the city can be a little difficult, they had about 4 to 5 tables available but instead they told us we had to wait an hour, i also explained that they never called me to re confirm the reservation but they didn't wanna hear our reason for being late either, no courtesy or willingness what so ever to accommodate us, They need to have more skilled and professional employees to greet costumers, especially on a day like mothers day!!! unfortunately i will not return to this restaurant, it was a major turn off, especially when we been there several times."

  • "This is the first time that I have been here in 2014. I went with four friends. Everyone was very satisfied with the meals. I had the guacamole for an appetizer and the scallops for an entree. Delicious! The general manager came around to assure our satisfaction and our waiter was very patient. Overall, a terrific experience. "

  • "We all enjoyed the menu and service here. My favorite was the Argentinian breakfast. Also the mimosas with the different fruit juices is a nice touch. We also sampled a bloody mary and that was very good too. Our table was ready for us when we arrived and everything went very well. They could improve the bread served before the meal, but that is my only complaint. "

  • "It is hard to find good Colombian food in philly and Mixto is one of my favorite restaurants for this reason. I love the ambiance, the service, the drinks, and of course the food. They have some of the best arepas and empanadas around here. This is my go to place when I am craving an arepa. "

  • "I have been there many times since they first opened and their food has been consistently excellent. My one quibble is that they stopped serving their crab omelets. Bring it back!"

  • "Mixto was an ok dining experience. There were 5 in our party. Granted we dined for brunch, but when I pay for dining no matter the time, my expectations regarding the quality of food, service, and overall experience does not change. The presentation and the food itself was ok. It was tasty but not hot... actually two of our dishes were cold. The coffee two of us ordered were also warm, not hot. Having said that, the service was very good and the ambience was nice. "

  • "Some friends and I met at Mixto. Most of us had been there before so knew the food and drinks were fab. Atmosphere nice, but upstairs quite loud. Drinks and apps came out within reasonable time, but pretty sure out dinner was forgotten for quite some time as we waited for that...and waited some more! Overall, tasted great but we weren't planning on such a lengthy dinner! About 2.5-3 hrs! Our group was only 5 people. A simple explanation & apology for the wait would've done wonders. We will return but would speak up if it happens again. "

  • "The menu is much smaller & slightly different than what I viewed online. I ordered an octopus salad & they were out of octopus. My husband ordered a talapia sandwich with no pico. The sandwich was smothered with pico where he can't even pick out he tomato chunks. While we were waiting for the food, the waitress wasn't even around to get us new alcohol beverages on a hot day. I don't think she understands that alcohol beverages are very profitable. This was our first time at Mixto & it was also our last time there. "

  • "The food and drinks was great but the server came to our table every 5 minutes rushing us. It ruin the dinner for me and I felt like I had to rush to eat my food. It wasn't a packed night or crowded so I didn't understand why we were being rushed. The food was awesome but not worth being harassed every five minutes. "

  • "Our service was OUTSTANDING! We always had water and drink refills coming just as we were finishing our current glasses. The waiter was exceptional in answering all of our questions regarding their brunch menu - the restaurant is Spanish/TexMex so there were plenty of items listed that were new to me. Our waiter seemed to enjoy explaining what everything was and what he recommends. The food itself was delicious. The menu is a fusion of Mexican, Spanish, and American items. I can only speak to the Brunch menu, but I was very impressed with the unique and creative flavors Mixto provides for guests. This is definitely not your typical brunch place!"
