MitsunobuExcellent goes above and beyondThe hostess called me in advance to talk about my vegetarian options and they created a separate menu for us. The waitress was SO friendly too. Service doesn't get better than this!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding experience, againWe've come a few times for lunch and dinner since it changed names from Kaygetsu, and we're still fans. Indeed, the food and service are exemplary. The sashimi moriawase was so good that it brought tears to my eyes. Incredibly fresh. The restaurant doesn't have quite the high polish in either overall food or service that Kaygetsu consistently offered, which used to easily rival our favorite top restaurants in Japan, but this is still a truly outstanding and totally satisfying experience. Highly recommended.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMKaiseki Dinner--SuperbWe enjoyed a wonderful Kaiseki dinner, superb tasting and artfully presented. The service was excellent, and the sake pairing was very enjoyable.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe 8 course kaiseki menuThe 8 course kaiseki menu is very good if somewhat pricey. You might want to save that for a special occasion. Waiter was good, but it was a bit difficult to understand his English. Fish was super fresh and each course was a work of art.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for an anniversaryWe went for an anniversary dinner. As always, the food was wonderful and the staff very attentive. One of us ordered the multicourse kaisekei menu and the other ala cart. They were very successful in timing the courses to dovetail. The last (dessert) course was served in a box, with a custom message in the lid, written in Japanese with green tea powder. The food and the experience are well-worth the money.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious! Sashimi was outstandingDelicious! Sashimi was outstanding. Uni was yummy. Everything was artfully presented. Service was polite and unobtrusive, yet available and attentive. Every dish was delicious. Dessert box commemorated the occasion.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was done to perfection.Food was done to perfection. Flavors were balanced and light. Fish was done to the right degree, not raw nor overcooked. Because I have numerous food allergies (including shellfish), they were very careful about the ingredients used in each dish, checked with me before ordering and serving, and made sure I had a wonderful dining experience. A definite do-again place!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good clean food.Food was very good clean food. I found nothing spectacular but everything we had was high quality and yummy. The menu lacks true specials and some of the signature dishes that Kaygetsu used to have.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always love the food andWe always love the food and quality of food whenever we eat here. The chef has a unique spin on traditional Japanese dishes and everything is always of the highest quality of anywhere in the bay area.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for a late lunch! We enjoyed our late lunch. The sushi was fresh and proportioned nicely (rather than American style slabs of cold fish on too much rice), but the rolls could have been a bit tighter. We had our 11-month old with us and they were very nice to him. We will come again.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
