Mitch's on El Paseo Prime SeafoodAwesome outdoor atmosphereService was a little off but the food and the setting are top notch. Our table had the Dover sole which was excellent. The ahi I was told was good but not great. The rack of lamb I was told was very good as was the bone in ribeye. The appetizer took forever to arrive but was good. Very pricey.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSeafood at it's best! This is a beautiful restaurant with great food and unsurpassed service. Perfect for al fresco dining outside. Food was fantastic! The Scottish Salmon and Dover Sole were prepared just right. The 'no rice' protein sushi role was to die for! Everyone who appreciates great Sushi should have one! Can't wait to return.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMitch'sGreat outdoor setting. Food is expensive and maybe even a little boring. I've tried it twice now, there are more appetizers that look like things I'd like to try than their are on the dinner menu. The ahi taco appetizer was great.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic Anniversary DinnerEnjoyed a wonderful evening with outstanding food, phenominal service, and beautiful ambiance.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time in less than aSecond time in less than a week and my guests and I were not disappointed. Service was slow and, I thought, a bit unattentive but the food made up for the wait. Will most definitely be back and have already highly recommended it to several friends.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful new restaurant!Three of us had a delicious dinner at Mitch's two nights ago. We each started with the Caesar salad which was very good. I had the Ahi Tuna and the other two had the salmon. They were excellent. The service was also great. Pleasant and right on it yet without hovering. Desert was the chocolate lava cake and bread pudding. Wonderful! We sat outside on the patio with the misters on and were very comfortable temperature wise. The view was lovely as well. I highly recommend Mitch's!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFish Dishes better than meatFish Dishes better than meat dishes. Mitch should stick to what he does best !! No recognition as an Open Table Reservation4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA cousin recommended Mitch'sA cousin recommended Mitch's to us, and she was not wrong! What a great assortment of appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. I ordered the beef tenderloin, and it was, without a doubt, the most tender I have ever had. Mitch was on hand to welcome us and wish us a wonderful anniversary celebration. We absolutely love this backyard setting on a warm desert evening.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMall five of us had somethingall five of us had something different and had nothing but good things to say4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant with outdoorGreat restaurant with outdoor seating and good food4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHeavy dressing!Lunch was great except there was too much salad dressing on both our salads. There were lights built into the menus though, which was a nice touch.
Overall we really enjoyed every minute--and we had two young boys (tweens) with us and they loved it too! It's a treat to find such a lovely place for dinner.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely ladies lunch spot! This is a lovely setting with great food and good service. The sushi is especially good but go to Acqua Pazza for Lobster Salad.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful area for outdoorBeautiful area for outdoor dining but they need to do something about the flys. They were everywhere and we constantly had to wave our hands over our food when it got to the table.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I went to Mitch'sMy husband and I went to Mitch's for lunch. We were seated outside on a beautiful patio that was a perfect temperature and artistically decorated. Food was wonderful. It's a great place to have sushi. we had the "808" and the "Surf and Turf" sushi rolls. i would suggest both! For dinner we enjoyed rack of lamb, tasty fish and steak. Everything was cooked perfectly. Server was very attentive and a manager stopped by every table to ensure everyone was enjoying their evening!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, great food and greatAs usual, great food and great service. Great place for a special lunch, or just for lunch!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA New Desert Dining GemWe dined on the patio where the ambiance was exceptional; the soft yellow/apricot colors where a lovely choice against the greens of the lawn. The service was stellar and the food --salmon salads, ahi tacos where scrumptious. The Chinese chicken salad was rather bland, though.
Attention to detail(s) is apparent and appreciated. Pleasantly well priced menu for lunch.
Bravo.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT FOOD AND SERVICEWe got there early to try the Happy Hour while we waited for our friends to arrive. The sliders were very good; the bar service was great; the manager came over to check if everything was good.
Dinner was outside on the large patio with a great view of the mountains. Jason offered a brief history of the restaurant (after checking that it was our first time). He and the other staff served us well. The food was great; we can personally vouch for the salmon, Dover sole, and ahi. They provided a beautifully prepared lava cake for my birthday.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been there five timesI have been there five times and love everything about it3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMitch has taken the old AugustasMitch has taken the old Augustas and jazzed it up. The luncheon menu is basically the same. Service was excellent and the food outstanding.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMRight on MitchThe very best on El Paso. Best price for Happy Hour with to die for Sushi platters.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is Prime Seafood!Wonderful creative menu, loved the Seaweed Salad and the Asian coppino. Not be fooled by the name, Jalapeno Poppera are not the stabdard bar fare, beautiful presentation and amalgum of flavors, the Tuna outstanding! So much more is offered than the typical seafood restaurant. Mitch makes sure your experience is outstanding. Wait staff very knowledgeable. Had a great evening.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an awesome eveningWe had an awesome evening here. The chilean sea bass was out of this world. The entire meal was outstanding. Love the patio. This could become one of our favorite restaurants in the valley. Service was great!!!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been here five timesI have been here five times since it opened. Twice for lunch and three times for dinner. Each time has been great.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFour of us had dinner at Mitch'sFour of us had dinner at Mitch's on a Saturday night during the tennis tournament. We were afraid it would be too crowded and noisy -- and it was filled, but the noise level was no worse than similar restaurants. It may have been more quiet outside -- we were inside. The service from the two Davids and the food were oustanding. They have a sushi chef so we started with that and it was delicious. The crab and lobster salad, shrimp and scallop entree, and rack of lamb were all superb. Service was great. The wines were a little pricey ($48 for Sonoma Cutrer chardonnary is usually less elsewhere. We'd go back as a special occasion treat.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGood experience--want to go back--Was pleasantly surprised-thought it would be a neighborhood overpriced place. 2 in our party had the grilled scallops and shrimp with a beet salad appetizer, which was proclaimed very good. I had the mussels appetizer and the duck (2 leg/thigh portions) and we had 4 coctails. My husband had the onion soup and the Lobster and shrimp/avocado salad as an entree. All of it was good. Unfortunately, the waiter accidentally spilled a plate on 1 of our party, and Mitch was there in seconds with his card to send him the bill. We were seated outside on the outer perimeter b/c I cannot stand deafening noise while eating dinner---I'd go back again. I think where we were seated really added to the ambience. No noise!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFine Dining at it's BestThis is a new restaurant that is doing great! They have it together and the food is wonderful as well as the service. It has it all and should be rated a top restaurant in Palm Desert. It is a sushi restaurant as well as other popular choices of fish, chicken, and beef dinners. The potato soufflé is dreamy. My salmon was outstanding. My husband said his beef was better than Flemings! If Mitch keeps up what he's doing he will have a top first choice restaurant in a town with many many choices.
The patio dining is so lovely but the inside dinning is equally as nice in colder weather. It looked like they had a separate seating area near the bar. They might have a different bar menu, I'm not sure.
Good luck Mitch, keep doing what you're doin3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThere was confusion over theThere was confusion over the reservation so we had to wait for a table. Was handled by Mitch, the owner. Food and service was great. Would cat inlay dine there again. Hope they can keep serving up great food!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a fantastic experience;Always a fantastic experience; both food and atmosphere. Mitch's is a must for visitors and locals.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBravo!I have been to your restaurant three times and every time the food has been excellent for all of us. I recently brought two ladies for both of their birthdays and your restaurant was generous enough to give them both beautiful dessert plates. This made a great impression on all of us. Thank you; this kindness will go along way towards good will. We will all think of Mitch's as a first choice in the future. Keep up the good work and the absolutely delicious, beautifully presented food selections. Bravo!

Thanks,3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to Mitch's twiceWe have been to Mitch's twice in the last two weeks. The atmosphere and food were outstanding and we were seated at 6PM as scheduled. Our only complaint was on the second visit when we felt a little pressure to order before we were ready.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the two lobster tail entree!Everything about our first "Mitch" experience (there will be many more!) was outstanding. Truly one if the best meals I have enjoyed in the Desert.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service, wonderful foodGreat service, wonderful food (been there three times - my new 'go to' restaurant. Patio is a bit overcrowded....tables too close together.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMNew noWe wee there on the 34th day after opening and the place was marvelous! The service was friendly and efficient and the food was excellent! The decor is unique and awesome! So glad to have a dynamic eatery on El Paseo. We will make it a definite go-to on our return visits to Palm Desert,CA.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful extensive menu.Wonderful extensive menu. We were lucky enough to get a table by the lawn, and it made our experience so much better.mitch does an amazing job of making this our favorite restaurant . Will be back and have been back many times.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful menu...Mitch doesWonderful menu...Mitch does it again with the food. The wait staff was excellent the night we were there. Was disappointed as we got seated way back in dining area, next to a person on the phone. What a downer for dinner. Hoping next time to have a better dining experience. Again, food and presentation were great.2/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLove your restaurantI'm so glad this restaurant replaced Augusta! It's now one of my favorite restaurants in the desert. Love the black mussels too!2/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOur second visit to Mitch'sOur second visit to Mitch's was as delightful as our first. The appetizers were slow in arriving due to the popularity of the sushi and sashimi. However, the evening was beautiful in a picturesque setting and the food was well worth the wait. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and actually I have.2/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMitch is Back! Our first of many (I hope) dining experiences was delightful. We were seated outdoors on a beautiful patio complete with a fire pit looking out onto a grassy yard. Our waiter, Raoul, was very attentive and delightful to talk with. We had not visited the restaurant when it was Augusta as the chef and wait staff are still on site with the addition of a sushi chef as the menu now includes sushi and sashimi which was very tempting to my husband. He instead ordered the shrimp and scallops which he raved about. My son and I ordered the duck. Not only was the duck moist and flavorful but the portions were very generous. Mitch has another winner on his hands!2/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAugusta, part IIOur first visit since Mitch Epstein took over the old Augusta Restaurant. The place looks virtually as it did, which is a good thing. The menu has loads of interesting items with an emphasis on sushi. We liked the food, but were not wowed. The shrimp and lobster salad had cold lobster, but the shrimp was hot...not a consistent taste experience. The Caesar salad was uninspired and needed a few more flavorful ingredients. The shrimp and lobster fried rice was nice, but also lacked something. The service was fine and the wine list looks solid. Mew will be back, as we know Mitch will continue to fine tune his new venture. Next time we will try some of the sushi.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
