Mothers Day dinner - wife, daughter, two year old grandson. Reservation at 4:00PM honored promptly. Waiter Devin - professional, friendly, not stuffy or pretentious. He was pleasant, and patient with questions regarding menu items and food prepartion. Bread was hot and very good. The crab, spinach & artichoke dip were just ok as was the seafood gumbo. The lobster bisque and twin lobster tails were both very good. The sea food Americana was very good. The halibut was fresh tasting, buttery, moist, and sweet. The service was excellent, but was rated as very good due to an extended wait for our entrees due to the number of large groups in the resturant. I cannot believe how many people bring very young children to a higher end restaurant like Mitchell's. I have been there many times in the past and now I tell the receptionist that we want to sit away from young kids. It may sound rude but I don't get to go to Mitchell's very often and I want to enjoy the experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAttention to DetailWe went to Mitchell's to celebrate mom's 81st birthday. There were 8 of us, and they had a private room for us, which was wonderful. As the parent of a 4 year old, I was immediately able to relax. And, during dinner, we were able to carry on a conversation so easily. The private room was great!!! I noted that we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation. Well, the menu's all said Happy 81st Birthday, and our server immediately wished the birthday girl a "Happy Birthday." The attention to detail was outstanding and didn't end with the service. The food was delicious. With 2 kids and a vegetarian, we had our share of special diets. All of the special dietary needs were met easily and deliciously-with no hassles. We felt completely pampered from the moment we walked through the door. We had two servers who attended to our every need. Now the FOOD! Oh my! We both had the stuffed Sea Bass! Not only was it beautifully presented it was excellent tasting!! The bass was cooked perfectly with an outstanding lobster and shrimp stuffing. I loved the stuffing because it was mostly the lobster and shrimp! Desert we selected the Shark Fin Pie. Which was an ice cream pie with vanilla ice cream, peanut butter and coated with salty peanuts, chocolate and a wonderful chocolate crust! It was amazing! Go anyway.I am not a big fan of seafood or fish, but I went to Mitchell's Fish Market for a dinner with a few out of town family members, and we had a fantastic meal. Everything we had was delicious. I had the Lemon Pepper Chicken, which was perfectly seasoned, and red mashed potatoes and green beans, which were just the right crispiness. The waitstaff was extremely helpful, professional, and service-oriented (I think his name was Chris). The view, from a booth by the water, was great at dusk, and it wasn't too crowded, so the noise level was really reasonable.
I will most definitely go back to this restaurant. It was a special time for family and for her. The private room area was very nice. The main waitress was awesome, friendly, overall sweet. The other waitress was wonderful as well (I wish I could name them). The food was great. I loved the touch of putting congratulations on the menu for our daughter Olivia and then gave them to us! How perfect for a family that loves to keep relics of stuff! Thank you very much for making it a special time for our daughter who graduated with honors, cash awards, dual degrees and who landed a job with PPG! Our waitress was great. She rolled with the punches as our husbands tried to give her grief (goodg grief). She helped us decide what to order and we all really enjoyed our meals.

We had a seat by the windows with a nice view of the river. So when my family was looking for a place to spend our Easter Celebration, I thought of Mitchell's Fish Market. Although we had been accustomed to having the traditional ham dinner, all but one of us ordered some type of seafood. Every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The Barramundi, the Tuna and the Salmon were among our favorites. Even my son who ordered the Angus Burger enjoyed his meal, especially the Fried Calamari he had as an appetizer. We had a very enjoyable family time together with great food. Have eaten here twice before, but this time the Chilean Sea Bass (Shang Hai style) was absolutely incredible.
