I have had other seafood for most of my 50 years of existence but this was the most bland seafood I have ever had. I did get it blackened, recommendation from the waiter, and it was disappointing."

  • "We eat at Mitchell's once a year on our visit to Destin. We have never had a bad meal. If you are a seafood lover, you won't be disappointed. This is not one of those fried seafood hole in the walls, but a little more upscale. The raw oysters, bacon wrapped shrimp and calamari are a must for an appetizer. The spinach salad is the choice for a salad, and decisions, decisions for an entree!"

  • "This is the third time we have dined at Mitchell's this year. The quality of the food is average. This is a decrease from what we had come to expect from Mitchell's. I had seared tuna. It was very very average. My wife had the planked salmon. She also felts it was very very average in taste and seasoning and presentation. The two guests we brought who were visiting had the Lobster and Macaroni dishes. They ate about half of their dishes. The service was very good but the food was below our expectations."

  • "Three of us had the Shrimp, Cod and Scallop Samuel Adams Batter fried dinner. Excellent value includes hush puppies, fries and coleslaw. Plenty of food and I brought home enough for lunch the next day. The fourth person in our group ordered the Lobster Fest Cod stuffed with lobster and shrimp, mashed potatoes and veggies. Everything was great; just shouldn't have eaten so much bread prior!"

  • "We had a nice dinner and our waiter, Robert was fabulous. I had the scallops and my wife had the steak and lobster. Both dishes were tasty and juicy. The spinach salad was very nice also. The gumbo that wife had was very good also. We are on spring break from Houston and when back in town would definitely return!"

Three of the adults ordered from the special lobster menu with lobster and shrimp stuffed cod. My husband ordered the salmon entree."

  • "We've visited Mitchel's Fish Market - Sandestin for 3 of the past 4 years. Each dining experience has been great. My spouse had the Clam Chowder and I had the Oysters New Orleans. Both were fantastic. We both had Lobster Tail and Steak Medalions for our entree. The lobster was sweet, the steak tender and cooked to perfection. I will definitely go back."

  • "My wife and I dined at Mitchell's on a Sunday night after attending Mass. It was our 41 st anniversary. The service was excellent, the food was very good. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had Scallops. They were prepare in an advertised Asian style. The food was over seasoned with the Asian sauce, this is why the food did not get an excellent rating. While service was excellent we were not offered any bread until half way through our meal. We have dined at Mitchell's before and the food this time while very good was a little below our expectations."

Notonly was it loud, but the lighting level was too high. There were three other couples in this room - all were unhappy being seated there."

The Cobb salad is small but excellent and the lobster tail is wonderful. Take advantage of lobster being reasonably priced this year!"

  • "We have a Mitchell's near our home at Newport on The Levee that is just top notch. So, we're spoiled. Our waiter was really excellent, but they were out of oysters which was very disappointing. I got a tuna steak that was really great. I would say the only reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars was the fact that they had no oysters. I will definitely go back though and will certainly recommend to friends."

  • "OUR FAVORITE SPOT WHILE IN DESTIN We have come to Mitchell's ever since the restaurant opened during our winter stays in Sandestin. Over the years we've gotten to know the management, and many of the food servers. Every meal we have had, we have been very happy with. As seniors, we always order from the lunch menu. It gives us sufficient quantities of this quality food. We were first attracted to the restaurant since original owner, Cameron Mitchell's mother, was a friend of one of our family members in central Ohio."

She has a great sense of humor and was spot on with her care of us!! Do yourself a favor and save room for carrot cake. Ok unless you have a never ending stomach you'll need to take some home. But ITS worth ordering it!"

  • "I had the ahi tuna extra rare and she had excellent rock lobster tails. The tuna itself was great but not the way it was served. IMHO any place that serves sashimi-grade tuna should serve it sliced with soy sauce and wasabi, preferably with small soy sauce bowls. Mitchells didn't have any soy sauce in the house (!!) and there were no small soy sauce bowls. It was served all by itself unsliced with wasabi and vegetables and potatoes. The only knife provided was a butter knife. Then they brought me some ponzu sauce with citrus in a mid-sized rammiken. I asked for a smaller one so I could adjust to my taste. I also ordered a sharp knife. They tried to make me happy. We had the seven layer carrot cake with lemon creme frosting. Delish."

  • "We had reservation for 9 and to our surprise, we were seated in small private dining room. The family really enjoyed having our own space. The food was off the charts excellent from the delicious crabmeat, spinach and artichoke dip to the entrees. To name a few, we had cedar plan salmon, blackened grouper, lobster bisque, caesar salad, clam chowder all of which were fabulous. Beware of the carrot cake, it was a mile high ----- enough for a large group to share --- for sure - well worth it!!"

  • "Two couples went to Mitchell's Fish Market and had a great time! There was a fixed price menu ($29.95) with the feature being Chilian Sea Bass. Three of us ordered that and I got the salad, dessert, and wine for an extra ten bucks. The fixed-price entree was excellent and the fourth entree which was a shrimp, crab and pasta combination was just as good. The waiter was attentive and entertaining in just the right amounts and we were not hurried from our table once we had finished eating. Two managers checked on our happiness with the experience. Seems odd to go to a chain when we are in one of the best places for fresh-caught seafood in the southern US, but the experience was exceptional and we will be back!"

The food was outstanding, from the appetizers right down to the coffee, really brilliant. We are foodies and appreciate good dining and Mitchell's holds their own with a lot of the places we have frequented in the area."
