  • "Was able to get immediate seating which was great. However, our server got our order wrong, didn't offer bread, and brought us another round of drinks when we said no. The manager was excellent in fixing the menu order mistake and comp'd the order on our bill. As far as food quality, nothing to write home about. Salty lobster bisque, chewy scallops, so so spinach artichoke dip. Would not be returning in near future, given all the other options."

  • "We went with a group of 8 to celebrate a birthday. I had the lobster tail and tenderloin skewer special. It was ok. The steak was a bit chewy and the lobster a bit over cooked. I should have stuck with my standard shanghai scallops. The drinks here are expensive but delicious. Love the peartini!! Our waitress's was fantastic! Friendly and efficient. Overall a great time was had."

  • "We had reservations for 7:30, and they were a bit backed up. Then the service was slow, we didn't get a drink until after 8. Still overall a good experience, the waitress was pleasant and knowledgable. And, most importantly the food was good and wasn't over priced. Several of us ordered from the Lobster specials menu and they were a good deal. They do pack in the tables a bit tight, wish there was a more room to move."

( stop it) crab legs ......AWFUL Served.......as an unrecognizable inedible mess .....so much so my nearly full order remained uneaten Brought home for the cats... Even they refused to eat it Soggy, salty, awful The best part of my uneaten meal ......the baked potato..... Will never return...."

  • "We ordered the Ginger crusted Salmon and Pecan crusted Trout. I was happy to see that the Salmon was still an option because I really like that. My wife liked both but preferred the Pecan crusted Trout. We also order the Calamari as an appetizer and then split the shark fin dessert with our friends. The food was good and we all walked out very full."

When I was seated no one greeted me for at least 10 minutes, then a mananer came over and apoligized. After that they were very nice. Food average."

  • "Met old friends haven't seen in years, and it was the perfect venue. Warm and inviting environment, heavy wood, but a light balance of light and space. Comfortable chairs, space between tables, and service that makes you feel comfortable to hang out, relax and have a good time. We did. Oh, the food; my scallops were seared (grilled, blackened options) and perfect (a little more garlic would have been nice, but better to err on not enough than too much - scallops were awesome), my fiance had the grilled salmon and loved it, not rare the way I like mine, but not overdone and dried out. Our friends had the specials, one sampler seafood and the other a surf and turf mix; both raved. Five drinks and great dinner w/old friends, $150. Worth it."

  • "My wife and I reserved an early table at Mitchell's for Valentine's Day evening. I hadn't eaten at Mitchell's before, so I was excited to have good seafood again (twenty years in Boston had left me unable to satisfy my taste for fresh seafood in Michigan). We had the crab cake appetizer and the lobster bisque; the former was excellent, the latter a little too salty for my taste, but had excellent flavor and chunks of lobster meat. I had yellowtail grilled then presented with their Shang Hai plating, and it was very good. My wife had the special dinner of lobster tail stuffed with shrimp and crab, which was prepared well (for that type of dish) and quite tasty. The Sharkfin pie was rich and indulgent, and the key lime pie was superb!"

  • "The food was very bland. I ordered the shrimp and lobster stuffed cod. The stuffing came on the top, cod was very dry and the dish was tasteless. My wife ordered plank salmon which was better than mine, not as dry, but again tasteless. Service was ok, but for $80 for the two of us we won't go back, mainly due to the meal. The bar scene seemed lively and we might try their happy hour menu. Disappointed in the fish market!"

  • "I have eaten at Mitchell's before and was looking forward to a repeat dinner of cod stuffed with lobster and shrimp, which is what I ordered. Unfortunately this meal did not remotely replicate my original meal. The cod, even with the light sauce, was bland and tasteless and barely room temperature. The stuffing was dry and the red skin smashed potatoes were gummy and glutenous. For whatever reason, this meal was the polar opposite of the last time I was at Mitchells for the same dish. Maybe the chef just had an off night...hope that's the case. I will go back again, but will not order cod. Fingers crossed this disappointing meal was just a fluke."

  • "Our shellfish trio and surf and turf were delicious and cooked to perfection. My boyfriend and I went at 4:30 on a Saturday on Valentine's weekend - I don't know if that's why it was such a great price (lunch time hours??) or Valentine's weekend Specials. Either way, I was happy to see that the bill was very reasonable after a mussels appetizer, two soups, two wines, and two entrees. I would go there again and recommend it to a friend. Nice environment and quality food."

  • "From the Grapefruit Basil Martinis to the Great Michigan Beer menu this place gets it right, right from the start! The Seared Ahi Tuna was the best that I have ever tasted! Would have had another plate, but I already ordered a lot. Lobster Bisque was rich and creamy and amazing! Main course was the Seafood Americana. This was fantastic. So much flavor and just the right size portion. I would recommend Mitchell's to anyone for any occasion."

  • "I visited on 2/12/14! I thought this was an upscale restaurant other than the prices! No tablecloth on the table or place settings or flatware before being seated. The only upscale experience were the price for the food. To much wait time between drinks & appetizer, to much time between soup/salad and entree. I wouldn't say I had a bad experience, but I definitely won't make it a point to come back anytime soon. The Food was good and hot when it arrived. And I'm a clean freak, and I noticed the carpet needs to be cleaned and restaurant aired out. I do realize it's a restaurant where Food and Drinks get spilled, it just shouldn't smell like it."
