  • "This was a Girls night out for my mother and I, we were heading to a play @ the Wharton center following dinner and chose to come to Mitchells. We were not disappointed at all. Food was fresh, hot and made to order. We also loved the sourdough french loaf (where do you get it ?) My Mother ordered stuffed lobster tails and ate every bite. It was a special treat. Thank you. only thing I would change is adding a little balsamic reduction to the wedge salad everything else was perfect."

  • "My husband and I went to Mitchells for the first time this past Saturday night. I usually have minimal expectations for seafood here in Michigan, but always remain hopeful for good seafood. After spending time on the east coast I have very high standards for seafood. I was very pleased with the quality of everything we enjoyed, very nice presentation and the menu has a nice variety. My only criticism would be all of the seafood was just a bit over cooked. Our server was great, very informative and professional. Our server was attentive without being in our face all the time. Ambience was nice but tables are quite close to each other. Prices were very reasonable and we will be back again!"

  • "The prices at this establishment are a little expensive but I guess you must pay a little more for fresh rather than frozen. The stuffed lobster was just okay. The stuffing tasted like it was pure salt, however, the lobster itself was perfectly done and still moist. For someone visiting this restaurant for the first time, I would recommend simply having an appetizer, soup, and dessert, while skipping the overpriced entree's."

The dish selection I made was a Cajun fish dish with shrimp, scallops etc but the sauce was over abundant and I did not like the dish at all and did not eat it. The server noticed and asked if it was ok and I said no. He asked if I would prefer a new dish but everyone else in the party was almost finished and I didn't want to make them wait so I declined. He was very nice and took the dish off our bill without being asked to (it's not his fault I picked something I didn't like). That was very nice and is a reflection of the class of the restaurant and their staff. Thank you"

  • "I took my sister here for dinner. We both enjoy good food and were in the mood for fish and chips. We did look through the menu, but we decided on the fish and chips anyways. The menu did have a lot to offer and the fish looked good. We did both like our entrees. There was a lot of food on our plates and we ate every bite of it. I also had a margarita which was very good. As a fish restaurant, it can be a little pricey, but we like to spoil ourselves every once in awhile. I would come back to this restaurant for sure."

When we arrived the 1st table was in the center rows and right in front of the kitchen entrance. We requested to be moved to a table in a less high traffic area. We were seated at a table that was very close to 2 other tables and we had very little room to pull our chairs out. The way the tables are laid out is an area the restaurant could improve."

  • "Pros -I requested that they print a special surprise message for both my girlfriend and my menu that pertained to the event celebrated and they graciously did this for us as a nice surprise for her -They put the vase of roses on the table as I requested for our reservation to surprise her as we were seated The manager brought us a gift card to thank us for dining with them -The food tasted great!!! Cons -The service was slow. Our drinks were never refilled. -For the price of items that are available, I was pretty disappointed in the overall presentation of each dish and the atmosphere overall."

  • "I went out for lunch to Mitchell's on Valentines day weekend and was quickly waited on, has a great server, and left feeling happy. Having food allergies (gluten, shellfish, and dairy), this is one place I put my trust in when it comes to getting a "safe" meal. The food had great flavor and was pleasing to the pallet. Unfortunately, I did have cold and dry vegetables. The prices are not outrageous for a fish market. I will come back again."

Not only that but the waiting area was chaos and people bumping into each other coming and going. The wait staff had major hurdles walking through the area with trays. I will thin again making a reservation on a major Holiday like Valentines day for the time we had to wait."

The restaurant is clever in that it continually makes "quiet" changes to the menu to keep the diner interested, while serving dishes they've made for years as if presenting for the first time.
