The service is always excellent and the fish and seafood offerings are extensive. Most recently, I was there for Mother's Day. Each Mom was greeted with a long-stemmed red rose, and at the conclusion of our meal, we were presented with a $15 gift certificate. We really enjoyed it, the food was great, we didn't wait long to be served and was just an all around great experience. We were seated at a booth next to the window and it was the best seat in the restaurant I think. My mom love seafood and I think I made a great choice because she really enjoyed herself. The Parmesan Chicken came in a large portion that looked and tasted very good indeed. Our waiter, Jarrid, made our stop a real pleasure, meeting our every need. All the staff here is top notch, but he is a special gem.
Dessert was Carrot Cake and the portion was huge, moist and absolutely delicious. She was funny, laughing with us when we asked about the difference between the "Mountain Trout" and "Rainbow Trout"; it's the same fish. The carrot cake is HUGE. One couple ordered a piece to split, and each half (served on separate plates) was way bigger than either one wanted to eat after an ample meal. The key lime pie was perfectly sized, and both were delicious. After that, the salads took forever to be delivered and the meals were delivered quite a long time after the salads. It appears that the restaurant was very short on their wait staff and it showed. We've not had a complaint with the menu and have received excellent service during each visit. Mitchell's is a seafood house but also does very well on the balance of their menu. True, the entree was ham, which is too salty for me in principle, but the sides of smashed redskin potatoes and green beans were perfect, the house salad was generous and interesting, and I was delighted to have creme brulee as dessert. Portion sizes were just right: not too much, but no one could call them skimpy. First off, the prices were better than the Columbus location. I felt like the fish/crab were fresher, better prepared, and served with more appeal. The service was very professional, and it was a great start to a Easter weekend with my family. I won't hesitate to return.
