Food was good, service was excellent. We had a very nice dining experience at Mitchell's!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA Wonderful Favorite!!!I have to begin by saying that I've been to this Mitchell's on a number of occassions and it's one of my Mom's favorite places to eat. Upon arriving a little early for our 4:00 reservation my Mom was given a singel red rose for Mother's day (nice touch) and we were seated immediately which was great. our waiter Michael was great it was a very busy Mother's Day but he made us feel very special. I started with the Charboriled Oyesters which were fantastic, reminded me of being in Martha's Vineyards. My mom had the Parmesean Crusted Whitefish and I opted for the Lobster & Steak combo. Both dishes were amazing and left us very satisfied. For dessert we chose the Key Lime Pie & the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee, awesome choices. We love that you can make a reservation because sometimes waiting lines in Birmingham can get very long. We've eaten in the main restaurant and bar and both have been fine - just depends on your mood as the bar is a little more casual. Make sure you save room for the sharkfin pie!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA great birthday dinnerWe went to Mitchell's for the first time for a birthday dinner. When I pre-booked online, I noted the special occasion and asked for a little extra recognition. This was noted and carried out, with the staff wishing my wife a happy birthday and offering a free dessert. Linda enjoyed her specialty cocktail (a grapefruit-basil martini) and we both loved our entrees - I had the sea bass Shanghai style; she had the stuffed bass. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. It was all done excellently and we'll come back again!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOur First Anniversary DinnerWe went for our first Anniversary, although the place was very busy with weekend diners, it actually had a romantic feel! My wife and I enjoyed drinks at the bar; we made a reservation and were on time, however had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. However the bartender was great and knowledgeable about wine. The crab,spinach, artichoke dip was some of the best we have tasted. My wife said her steak was done to perfection as was the lobster tail. My King Crab Legs made me quite happy!! The waitress was so very friendly and offered a free dessert for us to share in celebration! We agreed that the Creme brûlée (and the key lime pie that we purchased) were just ok. We've been to a few of the locations in this chain and it has become a regular stop for special occasions.
