  • Catering: For small events, a pick up or delivery of food is recommended. For events larger than 100 people, a full service catering can be arranged. This is best coordinated by Chef Massimo Capra himself and can be done so by getting in touch with the restaurant directly.
  • Entertainment: The word "Sopra' in Italian simply means 'Above'. Situated atop Mistura Restaurant, Chef Massimo Capra & Paolo Paolini's 2nd venue was created to accommodate groups of 20-120 people for all types of exclusive events.
    Our baby grand Steinway Piano and DJ equipment are available to our guests at no extra charge, as is our talented roster of incredible musicians.
    We aim to please, and our roster of talent is available to you for booking.

Located close to Toronto's Yorkville area, Mistura opened in October of 1997 to rave reviews and continues today with the same ideals. It boasts excellent quality, seasonal menus prepared Chef Massimo Capra's way and served by the professional and knowledgeable team. Mistura is about hospitality that's fun and comfortable, set in an elegant candle-lit atmosphere. A contemporary Italian cuisine reflects a simplified yet refined approach to taste. An extensive wine list, including wine from some of the world's finest vineyards, and an attentive, knowledgeable staff add to the appeal. Perhaps you prefer a more intimate, private setting.   • "Went here on Saturday night as I heard the food was excellent. Ordered more than a few dishes and all was very good. The best of all was the artichokes and red beet risotto. The service was excellent as well and would like to thank Chris my server for a job well done. At the end of the night my kids even mentioned that the steak they had was very tasty and the cappuccinos with the chocolate covered spoon was delicious."

From the moment we walked in the door (actually, before we had even walked in the door!) we were greeted by exceptionally friendly and personable staff. Our food was BEYOND amazing, and I personally loved that some of the Waitstaff seemed to really know some of the other patrons I could only imagine to be "regulars". We had a really great evening, and will be sure to tell any who will listen of our great experience at Mistura!"

  • "Very pretty, food very good - not excellent - good drinks re taste and portions. Reasonable prices for this type restaurant. Service could have been better - restaurant not crowded so no need to turn tables but felt rushed. As soon as fork was placed on plate after appetizer or dinner finished waiter or busboy immediately removed dishes and next food came very quickly. No chance to relax between courses. Waiter not most personable or friendly, not great on follow up. Would give it another chance."

  • "A group of 10 middle-aged friends descended on Mistura this Friday night. The waiter Chris was fantastically patient with our group decision-making process, made great wine recommendations and kept the atmosphere light and friendly. The food was some of the best Italian food we had ever tasted, and most of us have been to Italy for extended periods. Capping off the experience was the appearance of Massimo at our table, then we chatted with him at the bar at the end of the night (we were the last guests in the place). While pricey, the food and experience made it worthwhile."

  • "The overall experience was in a word, delightful! Cocktails on arrival were accompanied with very pleasant bread and a flavourful artichoke white bean puree. The appetizers, Beet salad/ Crispy artichokes, were such that we could readily split and switch and did. The mains, boneless cornish hen, stuffed and enclosed in pancetta, with roasted root vegetables & a cauliflower puree, looked very good, however my Agnello was fantastic, serviced on the rare side of medium, on a bed of flavourful lentils and garlic rapine, who could ask for anything more? We paired a nice Italian Tuscany wine that we had sampled in Rome. The Arancia with our favourite coffee styles, latte & Americano, wrapped it up for us. DELIGHTFUL!!"

  • "We went to this restaurant with very high expectations. We enjoy fine dining and have no problem paying high prices for a good plate. We tried several dishes and none of them were any good. I should have sent couple of our plates back to the kitchen. The red beet risotto was watery. There was barely any lobster in my lobster pasta and it lacked flavour. All the other plates that we tried were problematic too. I am not sure what was going on in the kitchen. But I don't think we'll go back."

  • "Coming from out of town it is sometimes difficult to find a good place to dine but mistura definitely offered a deliscious meal with excellent service. Servers are experienced and know the items on the menu very well. The staff was professional and welcoming. I am of Italian descent and am very picky at Italian restaurants as I am used to homemade Italian cuisine, yet Mistura has most definitely impressed me! Would definitely recommend Mistura to anyone in Toronto or visiting Toronto that wants a relaxing atmosphere and excellent Italian dining."

The service started out well when we were the only ones in the restaurant, but declined as the restaurant became busier. We were left for too long after we'd finished dessert and practically had to beg for the bill. Definitely not worth the price - we've had better for less."

Each person had a different main course and everything was excellent -- slow roasted rabbit, seared smoked salmon filet, seared N.S. scallops and lamb ribs. Seasonings were lovely. The lemon sorbet was a perfect way to cleanse our palets and finish the evening. The valet parking was worth the money. Our server was pleasant and helpful. This was a special birthday celebration and we enjoyed it very much."

The quality of the food is extremely consistent. However, during our most recently visit during Valentine's Day, the service suffered slightly. This is completely understandable but if you are seeking a Romantic Dinner at Mistura, visiting during a slow week night may be a better bet."

  • "The service was excellent, this was appreciated when 2 of us sent our cold food back. When a plate is brought to the table and you are told it is hot, nothing on it required a broiler, it had been under a heat lamp. The replacement was warm, came relatively quickly and Chef Massimo made a point of stopping by to give us his sincerest apologies. I found the decor very disappointing. It had the feeling of a dated hotel restaurant. The lighting was harsh and the space simply lacked thought. The food was far from stellar and the atmosphere rather blah. There are so many other Italian restaurants that far exceed Mistura that I would not be recommending it to anyone."
