Amazing dishes starting with the Sirloin Carpaccio, one of the best I ever eaten, then the main dishes, The Salmon was cook to Perfection, lot of flavor, really enjoyed , My wife had the Sirloin Steak, she really can't stop talking about it how delicious was, and to complete a perfect night the Profiterole dessert with inside ice cream very yummy. The service was outstanding, was never bother with interruptions and at the same time we were taking care all times with courtesy and professionalism. We are from Sunrise Florida and when well back to Boston, this place will be in our top destinations.

My friends and I went to Mistral for restaurant week and it was a great choice. It was $38 for a 3 course meal. The portions were very generous. My friend got the sirloin and it was the biggest piece of steak I have seen a restaurant serve for restaurant week. I got the salmon, which was also a good portion. Food was very good and I highly recommend Mistral for restaurant week due to the generous portion sizes and high quality of food.

I had the salmon and my date the steak. Started with meat salad and ended with peach cobbler. Paired with their recommended Merlot wine. Romantic high scale dining short walk from Back Bay mbta station. Was a bit loud for gregarious conversation but acceptable for casual conversation. Staff were polite and helpful.

Tried the restaurant week menu with my girlfriend. Ordered a corn soup for appetizer, which was good but had to wait about 5 minutes until I finally asked a passing waiter for my waiter to get a spoon. Otherwise, the salad was fresh, the pork milanese and salmon was delicious, and the peach cobbler was perfectly moderately sweet and delectable.

I went to Mistral for Restaurant Week for girls' night out. The service was impeccable! Waiters were very attentive and accommodating of our requests to take multiple photos of the group. The food was delicious and presentation very appealing. Also, Mistral has such a warm and cozy feel!

The restaurant was incredibly hot and there was also no air conditioning, and we were sweating throughout the meal. We ordered an appetizer but that never arrived, and when the meal was delivered we mentioned it to the waiter, who informed us that it would be taken off the bill (I should hope so!). Our drinks were removed from the table while they were nearly full and we were still enjoying the items we paid for. We had a reservation and had only been there for just over one hour. The best item we had was the muffin that served as the complimentary bread, and the drinks we great too and arrived as requested. Overall, we were very dissapointed in the service and will not be dining there again.

  • Terrible Service!

This was the first time dining at Mistral. We were celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. Our server started out being attentive, but everything quickly fell apart. We had dirty dishes sitting at our table for an extended time. Someone refilled our water glasses but did not pick up the dishes. We had another server clear our table and bring us dessert menus after being ignored for at least 15 more minutes. We were originally going to get dessert, but was worried about how long it would take to receive it. We finally flagged down a different server to receive our check. The food was excellent and we would of returned if we hadn't received such poor service!

My husband and I went with another couple during restaurant week. We had a late reservation in the evening and were seated only about 15min late which is to be expected, especially during restaurant week. Our server was pleasant, professional, and attentive and let us enjoy our meal. The food was excellent, from the salmon tartare to the nectarine crumble. I ordered the sirloin for my entree and was somewhat disappointed....it tasted delicious and was fork-tender, however I ordered it medium rare and it came out on the verge of medium well. Also of note, my husband had ordered the caesar salad as an appetizer and the dressing was absolute perfection. Looking forward to going back and enjoying another delicious meal!

I dined at Mistral several years ago and it was lovely. Unfortunately, it's gone way downhill since then. My friend and I dined there last Saturday and the food and service was mediocre. On top of that, the bartender accidentally charged my credit card $140 for two glasses of wine (actual price $23)! THEN, our server double charged my credit card for the meal! I'm glad I kept my receipts because now I'll have to dispute the charges. What a headache. I will not be going back. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Boston and Mistral is dropping off that list.

We've been there at the dine out Boston week and tried the 38$ three course pris fixe menu. The food was really good but nothing very special to us. The service was friendly and quick. Later at the evening (it was a friday) the restaurant turned full and quite loud but even though it was a great evening and definitely worth the money!

I had the salmon tartare for appetizer, it was a little bit salty and very acidic in taste; Grilled salmon for entree, which was pretty good; then I had vanilla ice cream for dessert, that's was the best part of the whole meal. Overall, I rate it 8 out of 10. 1 point off for the salmon tartar, and 1 point off for the noisy level, and tables were too close to each other.

A busy restaurant week and Mistral is so popular it can't keep up with the volume and while foood was good it did not measure up to standards. When asked to substitute vanilla ice cream for buttermilk I was told that this could not be done.....ridiculous! I just don't like the flavor of buttermilk.......

Everything was terrific, would've been 5 stars in all categories, except that the party across from us had a baby with them (between 1 and 2 yrs old) that fussed a lot throughout the meal. I found it distracting in such an upscale place (it wouldn't have bothered me at all at Applebee's). To single out one notable menu item: the chilled corn soup with crab, avocado and jalapeno oil was truly outstanding.

Went for Dine Out Boston (aka Restaurant Week) and found the food to be a little disappointing. Appetizers (tuna tartare and the chilled corn soup with crab and jalapeno oil) were very good. But the mains left a lot to be desired. The pork dish was basically a breaded chop and was very tough. The sirloin was prepared so blandly; I could have grilled it at home. We've been to Mistral many times (both Restaurant Week and not) but this time around was definitely a let down.

I truly love Mistral, and am their number one fan for brunch. The appetizers and desserts were delicious, as well as most entrees, but all three steaks ordered in our meal were dry and harsh, even though we ordered medium rare. Yes, it looked pink, but there was 0 juice in it and it was just hard to swallow. Wishing I got the pork Milanese my sister got :( but regardless I love the gem and everything else..just not the steaks. It looked so good before cutting and eating it!

I went to Mistral as part of the DineOut Boston promotion. I was impressed with the menu selection and the cold corn soup was AMAZING. I also truly appreciated the service. I've been to other high end restaurants that didn't seem to appreciated their "DineOut" customers as much. Me and my guest received comfortable, attentive, service.

I had the Gnocchi with Lobster and Summer Corn Sauce, the Cornish Game Hen, and the Profiteroles with Vanilla Ice Cream. The gnocchi and the profiteroles were beyond amazing - especially the gnocchi, I don't think I've had better in my life! The hen was good but not as amazing as the app or the dessert and I really wish they cut the portion in half. One hen was simply too much for me, but I honestly did not want to bring it back home.

The food was prepared and presented meticulously and the result was superb flavor and texture (duck, corn soup, lobster app). The trio of chocolate dessert was outstanding. The dining room is wedding reception-style tables in a big rectangular room with a very high ceiling - - boring, cold, and loud. Service was knowledgeable but unenthusiastic and a bit slow and sparse. The wine list is pretentious, with no selections less than $60. The bar also is cold and uninviting. Foodies who want more than just food will not like it. The very poor ambiance makes it not a good place for a date or guests. Noise is loud (not pleasingly energetic).

Went for anniversary dinner, got a pinot grigio bottle, classic escargot, game hen, swordfish, and desert sampler. The wine was slightly overpriced for its brand/year/quality, escargot and hen were amazing, swordfish was good but not amazing, the desert sampler was disappointing. The profiterole in the desert menu is a fake; ice cream is not the proper stuffing for this desert and the dough was stale. My wife makes better chocolate mousse at home, and the berry-sauce and creme brule were ok. Escargot and hen are highly recommended. Don't bother with deserts, nothing special. Wines need to be marked down. We had much better bottle-wines for 2/3 of the price at other places around Boston and vicinity at comparably high quality venues.

Although Open Table says Mistral is "French", the menu is more of a Mediterranean cuisine. All good, but seeing pizza and French cooking together is a bit disturbing. However, thdbusiness meeting I had went well. I ordered the grilled Cornish Hen. My wife ordered the pasta, while my business associate ordered the Salmon. All good. Even the ravioli appetizer and Cesar Salad were big hits (even, with white anchovies). The service was superb and the prices are moderately high. Although Mistral had a great selection of wines, very few were under $60. Very unreachable for a reasonable customer. The glasses of wine were very pricey also. The food is worth the visit, but you'll be limited on a reasonable wine selection. Reservation suggested

Mistral came highly recommended as a top restaurant in Boston from multiple sources. It did not disappoint. Well-paced service, nice ambiance, excellent dishes. Deep wine list. Entrée variety for everyone. We had a group of six and needed multiple credit cards for the check--no problem. I had a huge prime sirloin, but was jealous of the duck and swordfish dishes at my table too. This is not an inexpensive spot--but if you are looking for a top flight restaurant in downtown Boston, this is the place.
