Mistral - BostonSurpassed expectationsWonderful food. Highly recommend the "whole duck". Service was impeccable and friendly. You'll enjoy the experience so much you won't realize four hours have gone by!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGraduation celebrationWe had a large party here for a graduation brunch and while the food was excellent (especially the yogurt/granola parfait, cinnamon rolls and squash blossom omelet), we have to single out the outstanding service. Mistral's management and waiters went out of their way to accommodate the late arrival of some of our guests whose schedule was in flux (unforseen post-graduation events at the school and traffic caused by a power outage in the Back Bay). The service couldn't have been more attentive or gracious (keeping food warm under cover, providing last minute requests, etc.), despite the fact that some of us were late and the last to leave the restaurant. Thank you! We'll be back (and on time).6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe dover sole is worth the price. This was my first visit to Mistral. I split the white brick oven pizza as a first course (four cheese with fresh tomatoes and arugula) with another diner and it was delicious. Be sure to ask for the chili oil. The dover sole was like an extravagant gift. The portion is huge but presented flawlessly with fresh sauteed spinach. The market price for the evening was $68.00 but well worth it. The wine list was solid. I paired the courses with a very nice Far Niente chardonnay. The service was excellent but not intrusive. The atmosphere is a little more casual/energetic but certainly very comfortable and quite relaxing. Well done!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful! The food was great. The service was great. Overall it was a good experience. The beef tenderloin was excellent. The foie gras was good but not the best I have ever had, but I would eat it again.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI wish I could give 10 stars!Amazing experience, food was perfection, and service was outstanding.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for a Graduation Brunch! We live just outside Boston so we wanted to find a place that had that perfect mix of ambiance and good food in a festive brunch atmosphere. I have enjoyed Mistral for dinner in the past but brunch was a new experience for me. It was perfect! The service was personal and top flight while not intrusive. The menu selection was broad and offered something for everyone whether you were in the 17 - 25 age range or 50+ (the parents!). Pricing was very reasonable and the atmosphere lively while not too loud or boisterous. Clearly, a great spot for celebrations and consumption! We can't wait to go back!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat foodthe service was excellent we both had the duck superb and the crab ravioli are excellent6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Evening! We went there last weekend and the service was wonderful. Everyone from the Maitre'd to the waitstaff were very attentive and friendly. Only wish I'd known enough to request a corner table when making a reservation--they're a little larger and cozier for conversations for two people.
Food was, as always, amazing! ....and as it was our anniversary, the desserts were on them!!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable nightWe had a wonderful meal. The wait staff was very responsive and gracious.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWinnerFavorite place in town so far. Food was excellent, we had the crab ravioli and mozzarella pizza for apps which were both great. I had rack of lamb which could not have been prepared any better. Finished off with profiteroles which had ice cream center I will go back just for these but everything was outstanding from beginning to end. Nice wine selection too, half bottles and by the glass made for easy pairings with each course, and I've never seen Far Niente offerered by the glass anywhere else but here (it was Pinot noir very nice).5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. Would recommend to friends and look forward to going back.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench food, large portionsGood food, large portions, very pleasant and helpful waitstaff.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectionThe service is impeccable, and the food is incredible. This is one of the best restaurants in Boston!!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful food in a classy settingWe had the tenderloin, truffle mashed potato pizza for an appetizer... REALLY good! The duck and the filet were also great. We didn't order dessert, but our waiter brought us some sorbet with a candle because we were there for a birthday. I was full, but found some room for delicious sorbet... the lemon was particularly fantastic. Well done. This place is holding onto its quality over the years.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food better work on serviceWhile this was an outstanding food experience, the service la lacked the quality that the food brought to the experience.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMDaily specials not to be missedWe ate at Mistral on our last night in Boston and it was definitely a highlight after many other great food experiences. A most impressive wine collection and the food was impeccably prepared and presented. Excellent service without being intrusive.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOh what a nightWas truly a wonderful place to go. Everything was amazing. Party of 5 treated so nicely. We even took our 9 yr old with us who enjoyed the pizza and Shirley temples! A must for a special treat5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFour For Four! There were four of us and we got four different appetizers, four different entrees and four different desserts. Mistral got them all right...very right! The service was excellent. One of the few restaurants that seems to continue to improve with time.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious. EveryoneFood was delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We had a fabulous time. Staff was terrific.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTwo birthdays & 2 anniversariesNot inexpensive, but worth the cost. The decor is unusual and lovely. We all loved the Portobello Carpaccio appetizer. The Dover Sole lover was particularly happy, as was the steak lover. Two of us were very please with the halibut cheeks. We were happy to be in the corner booth which felt very intimate even though the place was jammed. We were very impressed that you can reserve seating at the bar and will be back to have one of the gorgeous looking pizzas that we saw there when we had a drink while waiting for our friends. It was a wonderful way to celebrate all our special occasions.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for BirthdaysI took my girlfriend there for her birthday and we had a wonderful meal. The food (I highly recommend the Salmon) and drinks were great and the ambience was well put together.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMStill great but very priceyDay in and out a very consistent performer. But unless you are on an expense account, or a very special occasion, quite expensive. Their wine list, for comparable restaurants, is about 15-20% high. The Pizza, at $20 is a bit over the top.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMToo bad that the food is soToo bad that the food is so expensive as I'd eat at Mistral more frequently if the price level was better.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the opportunity toWe had the opportunity to (choose) to dine here thanks to a gift certificate provided by friends. Although we wouldn't usually opt for an early reservation (5:30 since it was a last minute decision to go), I'm glad we did. The natural light provided by the huge windows made the space feel fresh and inviting (loved the color scheme!)...and as the sun went down and the place filled up, we noted the lovely change of lighting and how smoothly everything seemed to run around us.
Our drinks (cocktails and wine), appetizers (salad and escargot), meal (I had the salmon, he had the duck) and dessert (cocktails!) were all fabulous. Excellent service. What a great experience!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPhenomenal service food andPhenomenal service food and ambiance. It was pricey and that was wxpected but I didn't see that reflected in open doors assessment. We will return4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMYour Best Dining Experience Yet!Absolutely phenomenal. Every time I go, I leave saying it's the best meal I've ever had (hint: I always have the rack of lamb, and a side of both horseradish mashed potatoes and spinach)). The escargot is lovely, the cheese plate is always different and fun, and the wine list is my favorite in Boston (I prefer American Reds - they always have what nobody else does). Service at a table is unparalleled - the servers make sure you have everything you need, plus some... At the bar it is, understandably, a bit harder to get attention. I suggest going a bit early a having a cocktail from one of the waitresses in the "lounge" area. Make reservations early - they book up - but if tables are not available, ask for one at the bar. Worth it!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I love goingMy husband and I love going to Mistral. Whether its for an anniversary, a Friday night date, a group dinner or just a quick appetizer based meal. It is always exquisite. Service is impeccable. Ambiance is so fun just make sure you go after sunset.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMistral is Amazing!Mistral is amazing! This was my first visit and it was even more than the fantastic reputation I had heard. Everything was fantastic. Our waiter was incredible, very helpfu, knowledgeable and courteous. When he brought the Clos de los Siete wine, he carefully explained about teh vineyard and their growing process and blend of Malbec, Bordeaux and others.
Then the meal was amazing. I had swordfish that had a wonderful confluence of flavors. My friend had steak which was equally wonderful.
We will definitely go back and highly recommend Mistral.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMTook a number of clients thereTook a number of clients there for a business dinner. Atmosphere was terrific, service was gracious, food was wonderful. We had a fantastic time.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMCopley Square gemGreat sevice, people have great sense of humor and fun. Good for small groups too. Very professional wait staff. Sophisticated but not stuffy and formal. Food was very good and well presented. We did not order appetizers but were given a little something from the kitchen. Delightful attention.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the bestI'll be brief. It's one of the best restaurants in Boston and nobody serves a better rack of lamb.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great birthday dinnerHad a great birthday dinner here with my sister. Very expensive, but incredible quality food and amazing ambience. Similar to the feel of Sorellina! Would definitely recommend for a special occassion, especially with a significant other... the vibe is very cool and could be very romantic.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat job by all support teamsGreat job by all support teams in the restaurant. Although only he and his sister and the couple next to us spoke French, he was very extremely pleased as were the rest of my family, inclusive.

The food was beyond delicious and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable. Top notch describes everything at Mistral!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI always enjoy my experienceI always enjoy my experience at Mistral. The only draw back is the noise level. If it could be tempered just a bit it would add so much to the diners experience.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNice upscale restarauntNice place good vibe and great staff. The food was very good but lacked an overall uniqueness. This does no mean I wouldn't return as everything was well prepared and very good.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was wonderful,Everything was wonderful, but it is an expensive treat.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat value for a high endGreat value for a high end restaurant worthy of Michelin status. They were running a homemade Boston Cream Pie donuts special that was one of the best things I've ever eaten. I will dream about it for years to come.
All the food was totally amazing-- the duck hash never fails to disappoint--but all the pastries were especially out of this world.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWow!! Outstanding experience!Wow! The food choices were refined to a respectable selection and the quality was impeccable. The decor was very nice and understated. I would come here again and recommended it.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and the service isThe food and the service is really good. The price though is not. If yo want a complete meal with desert and wine you should expect something around $100/person.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGracious host and hostesses,Gracious host and hostesses, promptly seating us on busy Friday. Very knowledgeable waitstaff. All 4 appetizers and entrees exactly as described, and worthy of 28 or 29 Zagat rating: The sirloin carpaccio, delicate and tender, with shallots, truffled pecorino and watercress. The foie gras was masterfully prepared, presented on a brioche with duck confit. The Ricotta and ramp tortellini with English peas and chive blossoms, and Lambs lettuce salad with chevre, pecan melba and red wine vinaigrette, refreshing and vibrant.
