I love mission rock resort and this is my third time dining there and may be my last. Our service was horrible - the waitress was rude and in attentive saying "We aren't going to do that" to a special request in a rude and condecencing manner. I love the food and the restaurant itself but after that experience I am hesitant on going back. The waitress left us unattended for 30+ minutes while we were waiting for the bill. Then it took her another 20 minutes to return with my credit card.

We live close for the restaurant so for us it is pretty convenient to diner here. It was good, even if the fish was a little bit overcooked. My only regret is that they have changed their menu, I liked so much the last time I came. PS: I like very much their calamari!

It seemed odd that it was so quiet at 7pm on a friday evening with such a great view. We started with raw clams, which were excellent. But the mains were mostly a disappointment - the salmon with red curry was quite tasty, the crab louie salad was mundane, but the halibut was terrible! the fish was overcooked, the polenta was like spackle (no salt even!), and the "ratatouille" were about four quartered pieces of squash of 2 pieces of onion placed in a ring around the fish atop the polenta. the halibut was actually a recommendation from the waitress! and when my mom told her it was dry and barely edible, the waitress didn't offer something else and didn't take it off the check.

I loved the old Mission Rock Resort and I love the new one. Great casual outdoor dining with fabulous views. The crab and shrimp Louie is excellent, basic, even traditional, but excellent. The calamari is also quite good. I have dined here many times for lunch only. It has always been a warm and sunshiny experience as early as February and as late as November. Good food, good view and easy parking.

Nice open space, very casual, super good fresh seafood, and the sourdough bread is among San Francisco's best. It is not cheap, but was worth it. I checked "scenic view" - "scenic" is probably a bit of stretch for a dry dock and big commercial ships, but it is interesting, and site is right by the water. Location provides a good opportunity to explore the Dogpatch and Portola Wharf areas being rejuvenated from their previous industrial past. We traveled by public transit and the Google directions sent us far afield. After a long walk (2 muni stops away) through a very deserted area, we found it. In fact it is just a very short distance from the Mariposa stop on the T line.

The new Warriors Arena is planned for virtually across the street, with more offices going up. That’s going to make this a high destination place, while currently it is almost a secret, out of the way place -- not that it deserves to be. We had a delicious meal, looking out at the bay ship repair industry, and a San Francisco-that-once-was. Perfect for locals like us and for bringing friends from out of town.

This is my favorite spot to visit for brunch in the city. The bloody Marys, fully loaded, are scrumptious as is the Michelada - both have the perfect amount of "kick" for me. My usual is the fresh dungeonous crab benedict but I tried the fish & chips last Monday for lunch. The fish was perfectly done - crisp light batter on the outside, tender and flaky mild white fish on the inside. The chips were lightly seasoned and perfectly crisp, I had trouble keeping my dining companions fingers away from them. They all enjoyed their meals too. We truly had a great time with great service.

It had been a while since I had been to the former mission rock, but since it's been redone, it's incredible! The food was quite good-- much better than your average seafood joint. The menu looks similar to other places, but don't let it fool you-- it tastes SO MUCH BETTER. the crab was super fresh and displayed well, the oysters were excellent, the clam chowder was really tasty with delicious herbs and not too overly creamy, and the fish and chips were some of the best I have ever had. Don't miss the fish tacos either! Can't wait to go back. Came here with our 2 kids and they loved it too. Plus the people watching and boat watching was a hit.

It was nice to sit on the dock of the bay. The view is good but not great. My fish and chips were ok, my fiancé's crab benedict was delicious. I love the space in the place and choice of indoor outdoor dining. The view is amazing. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the happy hour. The 99 cents oysters are limited to just one kind, and the drinks are limited to the cheapest wine on the list and beer. No cocktails. If you are not looking for deals on that end this is a perfect place to take a date.

Everything was fabulous!! Food, View, Libations, only exceeded by the fine service. Ordered an appetizer of baked oysters with chorizo -- one oyster had the chorizo but was missing the oyster. Asked if I might have one more to replace that one and was compensated a full order of five instead of just one replacement. It doesn't get any better than that for excellent customer service -- I know, being a restaurant hostess myself, providing my customers with the ultimate of customer service. We will return and recommend Mission Rock Resort to family, friends and colleagues.

I literally had a standing brunch reservation here every Sunday. I have a toddler, and this was the only place we could come straight in with a reservation and get to sit outside and enjoy the afternoon. This Sunday, I brought my family as usual, and we were told we had to wait to sit outside even though we had reservations. There was a table inside we could sit at. I know other places did this but not my Mission Rock?! So we got to wait for about an hour with a toddler for an outside table. I'm sure they are trying to attract a different crowd, not the toddler-toting ones, but we still loved getting to chill outside with some eggs and mimosas while having the security of knowing we could get in when we showed up. :(

A heaped plate of perfect shoestring fries w rosemary to share set the tone for a delicious & leisurely lunch. Siitting in the outdoor deck under the sunshine yellow umbrellas, time slows down. Creamy clam chowder was excellent, & shrimp Louis refreshing. Fish tacos looked great & I'll get round to those next time. Split dishes were nicely presented and details of preferences noted & served accurately. All service was just right at the right time.

3rd time here which should say it all. We arrived early enough to secure a table on the outside deck; if the weather is pleasant, I think this al fresco option is primary to one's enjoyment here. Food is better than adequate, drinks good, service very pleasant, but, mostly it just feels so good to eat outside in this kind of out-of-the-way location.

What makes Mission Rock Resort a great place to dine is the outdoor seating area and the views of the Bay. Food is ok but nothing exciting or different. Our group consisted of people who do not eat animals or anything that comes from an animal so our only choice left was a few unexciting salads in the menu. We had vegan people visiting from the East Coast and they were shocked to see that nothing other than salads was available for vegans and vegetarians in a San Francisco restaurant. It would be great if the Chef recognized that there are more and more people who do not want to partake in the killing of animals to become human food and could include cruelty and slaughter free items in the menu.
