Mission Rock Resort
Brunch at Mission Rock ResortI made a reservation for 10:30am brunch this past Sunday, and I was impressed with the sense of urgency that the staff had when my friend I approached the bottom of the stairs. We were seated, as I requested, on the outdoor patio. The weather was lovely. Our waiter was very attentive and recommended the Breakfast Biscuit, which we both enjoyed. I'd definitely come back.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AM"Resort" in the name sold usAnd the experience clinched the deal. We ate lunch on the deck terrace on a pleasant sunny afternoon. My companion said she never would have thought of coming over here. Wonderful to eat by the bay, good drinks menu, and, oh yes, food terrific too, especially her shrimp roll! I'll be back.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMfavorite placeWe have come here twice on warm sf days....a go to place...great service....reasonable annd tasty food....relaxing fun place. Coming back soon.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOyster brunchWe had a great brunch before the ballgame, starting with a selection of oysters and micheladas followed by burgers and egg dishes. Everybody was happy, the weather was perfect, the view from the deck overlooking the bay was great, the waiter was efficient and friendly and the bill was large. Pricey, but it beats a $10 hot dog at the park.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!We had a surprise birthday party with 9 gals and all of us were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food, the Happy Hour drink specials until 7pm and great service. They even threw in two free desserts for our birthday girl. Really enjoyed the burger and the mac and cheese and the quinoa dish. And the bread pudding dessert was totally yummy. I'll be back for sure.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI write great for view butI write great for view but to be sure it's of a shipyard, but overlooking SF Bay is not to be missed no matter in what neighborhood. We had brunch on a sunny Saturday, and it was just perfect. Drinks pricey, however. Food quite good. Menu is not huge but enough choices for a nice brunch.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat views of the bay. DogsGreat views of the bay. Dogs are allowed on the deck.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate outside which was reallyWe ate outside which was really nice - they even had a heater! The food was "ok" and the menu was really limiting. I'm glad we were able to eat outside, as the inside was really loud and noisey. It is definitely a place that we will return...probably more for lunch.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service is amazing fromThe service is amazing from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. We have only been a few times and have always sat on patio. The servers work together as a team and there is always a manager in sight. They always remember us and check in with us. Fun on a date or with children.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable and relaxing atmosphere.Enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere. The brunch was delicious.Especially sourdough french toast that was the first time I've tried french toast made with sourdough bread. My Girlfriends and I had a great time! We will be there again on May 5!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a neighborhood gem! What a neighborhood gem! ANYTHING on the menu: never have gone wrong! Thanks Pete for being such a terrific host!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOur food was good; the viewsOur food was good; the views lovely. Bloody Mary small and weak.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem in Dogpatch. The risotta and Salmon dishes our party ordered were outstanding. The oysters, as usual, were superior, along with white wine selections.
It is a place I always recommend for food and location.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is no better place toThere is no better place to nurse your hangover than on the deck at Mission Rock. A Rock burger and a greyhound or bloody mary while sitting in the sun is just the ticket! Happy people dine here!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's a place best kept a secret......I'd love to sing accolades for Mission Rock Resort but then EVERYONE will end up going there! Suffice to say the food, the service, the bar, the staff are AHmazing! And what takes the cake...the view! And its Portrero Hill so its always sunny. There's nothing like sipping in bottomless Mimosas and hanging with good friends over brunch and just relaxing...and 4 hours later...best brunch of my life!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best place in the neighborhoodGreat brunch, Breakfast Biscuit and the Rock Burger were delicious. Free coffee refills, good service. On a sunny day, the view and atmosphere are wonderful. The restaurant is spacious and airy. The bar area has TVs if you want to watch sports but it is inaudible in the seating area. Plenty of seats outside on the terrace. Will come again.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe shrimp entree was oneThe shrimp entree was one of the best that we have had3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough it seemed to be aAlthough it seemed to be a slow night, it seemed as though it would be a fun, energetic venue, especially in the summertime - 2 floors, 2 bars, a fireplace and and outdoor deck area. Participated in restaurant week; Cipianno was ok as was the Ceasar salad. Appreciated the substitution of a gluten-free option for dessert-never had butterscotch pots de creme and it was very good. Would have liked to see an actual gluten-free menu, though.1/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed great cocktailsWe enjoyed great cocktails and beer with a terrific seafood experience. Fresh raw oysters and clams, plus light and crisp fried calamari were winners for starters. Ceviche was a bit odd with minced seafood rather than bigger chunks. The cioppino was very tasty and one of us raved about the fish and chips. The shrimp louie salad was also a hit. The only thing to keep in mind is that you have to walk upstairs to find the dining area and bar - and there wasn't anyone there to greet you upstairs - but once we found the host we had a great evening. I'd like to come back in the summer when it's warmer and sit in the outdoor area looking out over the bay, ships, and other nautical sights.1/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
