.....are perfect for sitting out on the deck. Being in Mission Bay, generally the weather here is the best you're going to find in the City anytime. With the large piers close by, you get a break from the wind. But do be aware: deck seating is first come, first served, even if your reservation requests outside seating...it will not be honored if others walk in before you!

Came here for a work lunch with 4 other people. It was quiet when we started around 11:30 but then a large group came in that made it very loud very quickly. By the time we left the place was packed! Love the louie salad. We ordered 4 of them!

We went there mainly for happy hour oysters, drinks, and to enjoy the view (also planning to order dinner, but we didn't have great expectations for that based on Yelp reviews). The oysters, drinks, and view were great, as expected, and I was surprised at how good my salmon entree was. I ordered it medium rare - it was a bit more done that I would have liked, but it was still very good and the salmon was served on a bed of tasty veggies. My son liked his fish tacos, too. 2 rounds of oysters, 3 entrees, 4 cocktails, and the tab w/ tip came to around $185. Not cheap by any means, but it was a good & memorable evening. Regarding the service, they didn't have enough servers. Our server was doing the best anyone could, but needed more help.

A wonderful place for lunch, especially on a sunny day. Or at happy hour, watch the sunset over the East Bay hills from a table on the deck. Great cocktails, although the mixing is sometimes a little shy on the alcohol. Really nice wines and beers and non-alcoholic options too. Fabulous fresh oysters from the west and east coasts, as well as other great selections on the menu. Easy, easy, easy free parking or just take the muni to a block away. And really, the best views of the bay ever!

I dined with a party of 6 on Friday at Mission Rock Resort. The food was good, but for the price and its location in San Francisco, there are other seafood restaurants that are great. The highlights - the view from the upstairs deck. It is this romantic, industrial view of the East Bay and of the tankers on it. The best dish was the sauteed summer squash with olive tapenade. That tasted fresh and was very good. A note on the service. Our party was indecisive. This said, our waitress was rude. Perhaps our indecisiveness angered her, or she was having a bad day, or both, but she dampened our experience there. I would go back for the view.

Always enjoy dining at Mission Rock. Dog friendly on the deck, beautiful bay view, great staff. Don't much like the heat lamps on the bay side of the deck. Not really needed during sunset hours. Staff very understanding and were able to turn ours off. Make it a priority to dine at Mission Rock.

Arrived 1hr early, 11:30, but, received by friendly Hostess & seated immediately. Sat on the terrace with a Bay View, under a sun umbrella. Excellent waitress & service. Crab & shrimp salad was very good, lots of salad stuff, but a bit more seafood would be desirable. Fish Taco excellent & plentiful. Clam chowder, hot & hearty, with sourdough bread. We ordered a wine spritzer, but, were dismayed by the $11.00 price tag, expected more like $9. The place became quite busy, inside & out, by our exit time, 2 hrs. later, with no pressure from our waitress. I've eaten here several times & always found it consistently the same; very good!

I love mission rock resort and this is my third time dining there and may be my last. Our service was horrible - the waitress was rude and in attentive saying "We aren't going to do that" to a special request in a rude and condecencing manner. I love the food and the restaurant itself but after that experience I am hesitant on going back. The waitress left us unattended for 30+ minutes while we were waiting for the bill. Then it took her another 20 minutes to return with my credit card.

Went here for the first time solely based on online reviews. Overall, most of the apps were pretty good. My wife got Halibut--usually a favorite of ours. Unfortunately, it was pretty dry and flavorless. Outside of that, the service was good and the restaurant had a cool setup on the water.

We live close for the restaurant so for us it is pretty convenient to diner here. It was good, even if the fish was a little bit overcooked. My only regret is that they have changed their menu, I liked so much the last time I came. PS: I like very much their calamari!

It seemed odd that it was so quiet at 7pm on a friday evening with such a great view. We started with raw clams, which were excellent. But the mains were mostly a disappointment - the salmon with red curry was quite tasty, the crab louie salad was mundane, but the halibut was terrible! the fish was overcooked, the polenta was like spackle (no salt even!), and the "ratatouille" were about four quartered pieces of squash of 2 pieces of onion placed in a ring around the fish atop the polenta. the halibut was actually a recommendation from the waitress! and when my mom told her it was dry and barely edible, the waitress didn't offer something else and didn't take it off the check.

I loved the old Mission Rock Resort and I love the new one. Great casual outdoor dining with fabulous views. The crab and shrimp Louie is excellent, basic, even traditional, but excellent. The calamari is also quite good. I have dined here many times for lunch only. It has always been a warm and sunshiny experience as early as February and as late as November. Good food, good view and easy parking.

Nice open space, very casual, super good fresh seafood, and the sourdough bread is among San Francisco's best. It is not cheap, but was worth it. I checked "scenic view" - "scenic" is probably a bit of stretch for a dry dock and big commercial ships, but it is interesting, and site is right by the water. Location provides a good opportunity to explore the Dogpatch and Portola Wharf areas being rejuvenated from their previous industrial past. We traveled by public transit and the Google directions sent us far afield. After a long walk (2 muni stops away) through a very deserted area, we found it. In fact it is just a very short distance from the Mariposa stop on the T line.

The new Warriors Arena is planned for virtually across the street, with more offices going up. That’s going to make this a high destination place, while currently it is almost a secret, out of the way place -- not that it deserves to be. We had a delicious meal, looking out at the bay ship repair industry, and a San Francisco-that-once-was. Perfect for locals like us and for bringing friends from out of town.

This is my favorite spot to visit for brunch in the city. The bloody Marys, fully loaded, are scrumptious as is the Michelada - both have the perfect amount of "kick" for me. My usual is the fresh dungeonous crab benedict but I tried the fish & chips last Monday for lunch. The fish was perfectly done - crisp light batter on the outside, tender and flaky mild white fish on the inside. The chips were lightly seasoned and perfectly crisp, I had trouble keeping my dining companions fingers away from them. They all enjoyed their meals too. We truly had a great time with great service.

It had been a while since I had been to the former mission rock, but since it's been redone, it's incredible! The food was quite good-- much better than your average seafood joint. The menu looks similar to other places, but don't let it fool you-- it tastes SO MUCH BETTER. the crab was super fresh and displayed well, the oysters were excellent, the clam chowder was really tasty with delicious herbs and not too overly creamy, and the fish and chips were some of the best I have ever had. Don't miss the fish tacos either! Can't wait to go back. Came here with our 2 kids and they loved it too. Plus the people watching and boat watching was a hit.

I love the space in the place and choice of indoor outdoor dining. The view is amazing. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the happy hour. The 99 cents oysters are limited to just one kind, and the drinks are limited to the cheapest wine on the list and beer. No cocktails. If you are not looking for deals on that end this is a perfect place to take a date.
