We were so looking forward to a good solid dinner at Miss Mamie's Spoonbread Too. Perhaps our expectation of great Southern Fried Chicken and cornbread was just too great. The meal was just OK. Nothing special and certainly not anything great. Chicken was OK, the trout was quite good, the cornbread and the mac and cheese were both dry and the collards just so, so. All and all, a dissapointment.

Everything here is great. I've been here several times. This time I had the BBQ chicken...yum. The punch, especially, is unique and very tasty.

I can't say anything bad about what I had. Excellent fried chicken and sides of collard greens and sweet potatoes. In fact, whenever I go somewhere else, I compare their food to Miss Mamie's. It's delicious and I would happily go back any mean of the day, any season.

We came to Miss Mamie's Spoonbread Too for good fried chicken and it did not disappoint. Everything else was excellent too - the collard greens, the yams, the mashed potatoes and the cornbread. And the waitress was very friendly and sweet.

If you are a Yankee in NYC, prepare yourself for a quasi-religious experience. If you are a good ol' boy or gal, welcome home. Miss Mamie's is an unpretentious little slice of heaven on 110th Street. Perfectly prepared fried chicken (I chose the all dark meat option), expertly seasoned collard greens and a wonderfully textured mac 'n cheese made up the soul satisfying dinner I had there with a friend last week. Don't miss out on the seafood gumbo either - the precise amount of zing required), some of the best that will ever touch your palate. All of this cuisine served in colorful surroundings with complementary jazz notes floating through the air. 5 stars.
