The staff at the resorts are top-notch -- from the valet parking staff to the servers at the restaurants. The food... meh, need a bit of improvements (their food quality has been slipping lately). The place is stupid expensive and has a vacant ghost town feel. Service was very good as was the food. Bacara is suffering from years of treating local Santa Barbarans poorly hoping for the beautiful people from LA, Europe or NYC. They need to do damage control and reach out to the community. The steak entree was spectacular, and our server suggested a wine that was both perfectly suited to our meal and reasonably priced, too! Not pretentious but very classy. We had wonderful service, delicious food (everything we tried was top quality with generous portions). The ambience is low key elegance and our table by the windows gave us a romantic view of the ocean, complete with fishing boats casting lights on the waves.
