Diner Reviews
  • "This is our second visit to Miranda's and we will definitely be returning . The food never disappoints, the service is excellent, the staff is warm and friendly and it is everything a good restaurant should be without being pretentious. Definitely a jewel in Williamsburg!"

  • "I keep returning for the food, the service, the warmth. Such a wonderful restaurant in the middle of "loud" North Williamsburg. I discovered Miranda just after it had opened. Went once and was hooked. Now I bring friends and family there all the time. I'm welcomed warmly. The food is inventive, well prepared and beautifully served. I love the octpus on arugula, avocado and cukecumber -- so cool. The pappardelle with mole lamb ragu is spicy and delicious. And the duck breast perfectly prepared. Miranda's desserts are perfect endings to a perfect meal. The wine list is quite varied both in terms of region and price. I can always find a reasonable bottle from an area I enjoy. All around, great meals! Servers charming, knowledgable."

  • "My favorite brunch spot in Williamsburg. Never packed or loud, unlike it's neighbor across the street with an inferior menu. Love this place."

  • "Miranda is one of the best restaurants in Williamsburg for brunch. The Pernil is perfectly cooked and the coffee is delicious and flowing. Service is always pleasant, and I've never felt rushed to leave, which is good, because it's hard to stop at just one Bloody Mary there!"

  • "This excellent restaurant serves mainly Italian fare, but with an original twist. Latin flavors surprisingly infuse both the menu and even individual dishes. Amazingly, in the heart of Williamsburg, a table was easy to score at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Just not hip enough, I guess - thank goodness!!"

  • "Vibrant restaurant with mediocre food. Outstanding flour less chocolate cake."

  • "Great service, nice vibe to the place. The food was not as great as friends who had recommended the place claimed. Though one of our party had a delicious meal (roast pork) -- I just found the spaghetti and meatballs bland. I would need to explore the menu further to give a reliable review."

  • "I thought to celebrate my husband with surprise dinner with a few friends and family. Miranda's was a perfect choice! Wouldn't change a thing"

  • "Would have returned here for dinner had we experienced it sooner in our stay. Absolutely a fabulous restaurant. Wife/chef; husband/manages/serves/host. This is a first-class event. You would be remiss in not having a meal here. You know at first bite that every ingredient in your meal is fresh. Italian/Latin mix of options. The restaurant is on a corner, and they advised us that in good weather, the windows all open out for an outdoor effect. Will be going there when we return in April. Did not review the wine list as a glass was included with our meal. It was their house brand, and we had a red and a white, and enjoyed each. Would definitely bring guests here as well."

  • "I picked this restaurant out randomly on Open Table because it was close to our Friday night destination, and was blown away. The food is super good, the drinks amazing, and the service impeccable. I can't understand why it wasn't packed! I would recommend eating here before it closes - the place must be in trouble, because there were only 4 or 5 other parties in the restaurant while we were there, but I can't imagine why. Seriously, the food is such an imaginative take on Italian - everything has a little Spanish or Mexican twist. Really tasty."

  • "At Miranda, the service is good and friendly. Though, this restaurant cannot call itself Italian. The Arancini have nothing to do with the breaded rise balls you should receive. The pasta is anything but properly cooked, while the sauce seems to be made with canned tomatoes. The branzino we ordered was overcooked. It is a pity because they make an effort and I would have loved to have found a gem. No luck."

  • "My fourth dinner at Miranda's and it keeps getting better! From the warm welcome to the effusive "thank you" at our goodbye, everything was perfect. We were three for dinner and each had a different appetizer and main course. The grilled octopus with arugula and avocado was tender and grilled to perfection. The buffalo mozarrella was so soft and creamy. we had duck -- perfectly cooked rare as requested; lamb ragu mole deliciously chocolatey and spicy; and salmon cooked to perfection. White wine was so earthy and the bottle of Tempranillo rich and earthy as well. A perfect a companion to both the duck and the ragu. Our servers knew the menu and were helpful when one of us requested a change to the dish -- substituting one side for another."

  • "I went here for brunch last fall and loved it! Dinner was a little out of my price range, but I really wanted to go back and try it. I got a gift card for christmas (beautifully packaged and sent by the way), and finally got to have dinner at Miranda. Everything from the food and drinks, to the service, to the atmosphere is fantastic at Miranda. We had the chorizo risotto balls, arugula salad, branzino, and duck. They were all wonderful, however, the portions are on the small side. Regardless, we had a great time and left extremely happy."

  • "I've been to Miranda several times and have taken friends with me. It has never disappointed. The servers are charming and so welcoming. It is an oasis of warmth in the hubbub of Greater Williamsburg. The owner and chef is very talented, presenting the delicious food in an attractive, elegant way. Both fish and meat dishes that we had were perfectly prepared. And the warm octopus over salad was perfect. The wine list complements the food offerings. I had a lovely red Alto Adagia, dry and minerally as it should be. All in all, a wonderful meal."

  • "I made reservations at the restaurant via open table and mentioned that it was my boyfriend's birthday. When we arrived, service was very attentive and the good was wonderful! We were full after the meal and decided to go for a walk and didn't order desert. But Miranda's staff surprised us with tres leeches (on the house) and a candle! They were very sweet and discreet, and my boyfriend was delighted! Everything about the place and the good was just perfect!"

  • "Have been to Miranda a number of times, but twice in the last three nights. Menu is short but creative. Six great pastas of which my favorite is the Pappardelle with lamb shank in a little spicy mole sauce. Branzino is great as is the duck. Good wine list and always consistent. Miranda is a terrific chef."

  • "Usually going to restaurants in Manhattan, we decided to go to Williamsburg to see what all the hype was about. Having read excellent reviews about Miranda, we decided to give it a try and we weren't disappointed! Not only was the food prepared to perfection, but the selections were innovative and tasty. What was most inviting was the fastidious of the staff- from the person who greeted us at the door to the busboy, who were attentive to our every need. The restaurant was very busy, but the routines in place were carried out at every table, such as cleaning the table after each course. So much of that is lost in restaurants today. Miranda's is truly a gem that I would highly recommend."

  • "My wife and I stayed in Williamsburg and we did end up going to a couple of upscale restaurants over in Manhattan and Miranda was BY FAR the best we went to in New York. The Latin/Italian cuisine reminded me of a great blended wine--bringing out the high notes of each country's cuisine. The service was sincerely cheerful, perfectly attentive, never intrusive. After each course a server would effortlessly whisk the crumbs away. The brick walls, the tastefully muted but distinct lighting, the beautiful windows, and the glowing bar/kitchen to the back made for a romantic ambience. Our food was fresh, creative, delicious, and was handsomely presented on the plate. The music, the wines, perfect. I highly recommend this gem, especially for lovers."

  • "Wanted to dine outside of our usual area and selected Miranda based on previous reviews. Our group of 4 were thrilled with the choice. friendly, knowledgeable staff; range of choices; the best butternut squash soup - ever; delicious seasoning to all dishes, prepared with great care. While our group was a 'bit' older than the majority of the other diners, we did not feel uncomfortable and the sound level was quite tolerable. A must for all"

  • "We ate here for the first time, and will definitely return. The room was cozy and inviting, and we could hear ourselves speak. The service was attentive, but not rushed. The food was delicious. We had the squash soup, which was creamy but made without dairy, and nicely spiced, grilled octopus, a special salad available that day and arancini, an arborio rice and chorizo dish that was fabulous. Main courses were equally good. The pappardelle was spicy and rich, the branzino delicately flavored and the grilled skirt steak (churrasco) perfectly cooked. It was worth traveling from Manhattan to dine at Miranda."

  • "After visiting Miranda 3 times, I must say, it was our pleasure to enjoy the food and great service. A nice fusion of Italian and Latin cuisines. Good selection of wines and yummy deserts."

  • "not as "trendy" as some places but the food is really delicious and personally i prefer to be away from the 'scene,' can actually hear the people talk that you are dining with and enjoy a nice meal The service is a bit too formal for my taste, and for the neighborhood (IMO) i prefer to not have my water glass refilled over and over or esp i prefer NOT to have my table wiped between courses that sort of thing.."

  • "Took my Jersey cousin to Miranda and we were certainly not disappointed. From our welcome and the offer af any table we wanted since we were early diners to the "thank yous" from the entire wait staff as we left, our dinner at Miranda was marvelous! The grilled octopus appetizer was tender and beautifully presented. We shared the truffled ravioli -- so delicious-- and the Branzini on a bed of quinoa. Both really wonderful. Will definitely be back!"
