Just went to Mirai on Friday night
for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. Food and drinks were great. The tuna tuna salmon roll was my favorite served along with a cucumber martini."

Our waiter was very nice but it
was difficult to get his attention in the darkness of the lounge. We sat for very long periods of time without a visit. Finally someone used their iPhone flashlight to get his attention- the tables were only half full. The sushi was very good. The wine list needs to be revamped."

A few of us wanted to get dinner
before meeting up with a big group in Wicker Park, so I found this place on yelp and booked through open table. It was snowing (again, shocker) and pretty nasty out so by the time we got here it was mostly empty, maybe 5 other tables tops. It was good - definitely lived up to it's ratings on both Yelp and Open Table. Our server had great recommendations and the food was yummy. The specialty and sushi rolls are limited in options so maybe not great if there are food allergies or picky eaters, but everything we got was good. One of my friends is a vegetarian and she found plenty to eat. Overall, a happy find for sushi in WP!"

Although the fish was very high
quality, the rice balls fell apart when we dipped the sushi in the soy sauce. In addition, the tempura udon had too many onions."

I've been looking for a good sushi
place, since I just moved here from California and it seems like most Asian food here isn't very good. The RW menu consisted of a drink, an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. For the drink I got a Cucumber Passion cocktail. My drink was absolutely delicious and very refreshing. For the appetizer I got the gyoza and my mom got the spicy mono. Both were very good, but I was totally wowed by the spicy mono. It was definitely some of the best sushi I've had in awhile. For dessert I had the red bean mochi ice cream and the mango mochi ice cream. I definitely liked the mango mochi the best. Overall, this was a great dinner and I will for sure be back!"

Although we were late they seated
us immediately and catered to our every need. Definitely a place to return to and recommend to others."

This was for a special occasion.
We originally had rez at Juno, but there was a fire so we switched. First, this place is gorgeous! The sushi is so fun and beautifully presented, but the night we were there the place was full and only two waitresses, one busboy and the host. We waited for quite awhile for someone to come over to take an order. Twice they brought us the wrong food-quickly rectified, once the wrong bottle of wine-50% more expensive, but the host said we could have it at the same price. I am not sure we would go back because of the service, but it could have been a bad night for them. But if you know there might be some service problems going in and can be patient, it is a terrific place."

It had been about 6-7 years since
we last had been to Mirai(which was our first time). What amazing sushi! We have been to many places since our first time there, but no other sushi restaurant could compare to our first experience. The food was fantastic this time around. We are definitely going to make it back sooner than later."

Mirai is quickly becoming my
favorite spot for incredibly fresh fish. From classics to imaginative menu items, I highly encourage you try this restaurant. Ask for the Omakase if you're an adventurous eater."
Dined on 1/31/2014
This restaurant advertises on Open
Table that they accomidate gluten free diners but they really don't. We asked about mulitple items on the menu and the server had to go ask, so he didn't know the menu very well. Some of the items could have been made gluten free but they made no effort to accomidate the fact that we eat gluten free. So don't advertise that you are gluten free if you are not ! ! ! ! !"

My dear friend and I found
ourselves without plans for dinner and decided that we wanted sushi. Mirai has always been a favorite of ours and does not let down! I absolutely love the upstairs dining experience (except it's too dark to read the menu) and the food is always exquisite. Highly recommended for anyone looking to take a step up from the run of the mill sushi available on every corner, we will definitely be returning :)"

Our fav spot in the city for fresh
sushi. So much better than all other places. Must try!"

Stopped in for dinner Sunday night
to catch up with old friends. Miei, the proprietor and erstwhile acquaintance, was exceptionally accommodating. The food was perfect as were the drinks. Never an unpleasant experience at Mirai!"

My boyfriend and I have always
wanted to try Mirai and finally got the change. The service was impeccable and the food was just exquisite. The sashimi was melt in your mouth and the rice was perfect."
Dined on 12/20/2013
What impressed me most was the
fact that the restaurant closed at 10 (unknown to me) and they stayed open while our table and another table of 4 near us were there enjoying ourselves. I felt bad for the staff because i had no idea we kept them so late but they acted like it was no big deal and they were only interested in our happiness."

I went here for my 23rd birthday
with some family and friends. There was a group of 5 of us. Service was great, the waitress we had was training someone but nothing went wrong. The food was fantastic. The table favorite was the Special Salmon so I definitely recommend that!"

We had a group of 12 and
pre-ordered the day prior. Great service and perfect timing with food delivery. Food was amazing and service impeccable . Job well done ."

desert was really bad..."

I've been to Mirai a few times now
and it never disappoints! This may be one of the best sushi restaurants in the city and is certainly my favorite. We had a late dinner on a Friday evening so it was pretty quiet in the restaurant which turned out to be nice because we were able to have a quiet, low key dinner with amazing food and great service. I strongly suggest the Shrimp Togarashi and Special Salmon roll. I can't wait for my next visit to Mirai Sushi!"
Dined on 9/14/2013
Sit by the sushi bar and enjoy the
work of the masters. Be sure to order from the chef's specials menu...your taste buds will thank you. The yellowtail (sashimi) and salmon (a chef's special, nigiri) that we ordered on our first visit was melting in our mouths as we mumbled "more, please...sir" to our sushi chefs. Our only regret is that we don't live in Chicago!"
Dined on 9/8/2013
The food was delicious, great
atmosphere, staff was a little off the night we came, otherwise good visit."
Dined on 9/8/2013
The sushi quality was great. Rolls
were OK. Decent wine selection. Nice eclectic neighborhood."

Best fish in the city. Slow!!!
service for a Sunday that's hard to overlook being in the industry myself. Guests need to be greeted in 3-5 minutes or less, not 10+. It would be one thing if there were more than 10 diners in the restaurant, but there wasnt. So instead I stared out the window or at the funny (their conversation) sushi guys chatting it up in Japanese. That left a horrid taste in my mouth, as it the first impression to my dining experience as a whole, and it was hard not to take it out on my server or her tip, but I certainly managed to be on my best behavior. However, it's the food that is irreplaceable and what keeps me coming back. A hiccup in the grand scheme of things, but an annoying existence regardless."
Dined on 8/26/2013
I love the restaurant - 3
different options for seating (outdoor, main floor and upstairs). The sushi itself is seriously incredible. The menu is simple and almost gets straight the point. Fish was fresh and worth every penny."
Dined on 8/3/2013
Very disappointing sushi
experience. I was looking forward to trying this place but it was a major let down. We got 3 rolls and some nigiri, but the rolls either had no flavor or were you filled with some mayo base, and nigiri was mediocre"
Dined on 7/28/2013
There may be equivalently good
sushi in Chicago, but it's hard to believe that anywhere else is better. The sashimi explodes in your mouth with flavor and freshness. And the service is excellent as well. Give it a try and keep this gem in business."

This is an exceptional restaurant.
The food is outstanding and the service is fatnastic. The upstairs has the best atmosphere in terms of ambience - it's quiet and dimly lit, so perfect for a romantic dinner. We will definitely return to this place."
Dined on 6/29/2013
The ingredients are first class.
The presentation of the food as well as the flavor was excellent and this is one of the best Japanese Restaurant in the US."

Service is top notch and food
couldn't be better. Highly recommend."

Outstanding quality. Perfect
presentation. The chefs and staff were very attentive. Sit at the counter to enjoy the great offerings that were very fresh. If you enjoy great sushi, you will not be disappointed."

If you are a sushi fan or even
just casual admirer, do yourself a favor and visit Miraj Sushi. The food was outstanding; some of the best sushi I've ever had and I used to live in New York and frequent San Francisco. Service was exceptional. Our server was always on hand to refill my beer (very handy) and the entire staff was highly knowledgable about all of the plates they were serving. A+++++."

I used to love this spot. It was
innovative and fresh. It no longer is good. The decor tired as well as the food."
Dined on 5/17/2013
Sushi was outstanding. Sake
selection seems not as good as it used to be."
Dined on 5/15/2013
- Great sushi, fresh and well
prepared to order - Drinks menu is A+++ (try the lichee or cucumber cocktail) - Service is engaged and friendly; and willing to adjust for the more fussy palate"

We really enjoyed our meal at
Marai. THey had great sushi roll and a good selection of saki"
Dined on 4/13/2013
Quality of food seems to have gone
down. A little scary when your order arrives minutes after you place it."
Dined on 4/14/2013
Hard to express properly how great
my experience at Mirai was, so I will keep it short. The food was fantastic! The wait staff was well versed in all the foods and made great suggestions. The place is well decorated and even sitting at the bar, the noise level was light enough to easily have a conversation without speaking above your regular volume. We even had a chance to speak with the owner of the restaurant and she couldn't have been nicer or happier that people come and enjoy themselves at her restaurant. It's a little expensive for sushi, but it's still a good value. The only downside, and this is not an inditement of the restaurant as much as the neighborhood, is that you'll have to do valet."

Mirai Sushi is hands down one of
the best places in the city. My husband and I dine here a LOT. It's worth every penny. The food is far fresher than most sushi places in the city. We love the special cocktails too and they have a nice wine list. We highly recommend going! In the summer they have a few tables outside which is great. The service is great. They are all VERY friendly. And there is a bar upstairs and down to enjoy a cocktail at, or eat at. They have the best spicy tuna roll in the city. And the best pieces! We love getting a few raw pieces. I would also recommend the Tuna Carpaccio Salad. Fantastic... so fresh and light! Also Kani Nigiri is to die for. Amazing and served warm. And be sure to try tne Spicy Mono and Special Sa"

I was recommended this location
from a friend. The appetizer was good, service a little on the slow side, I asked for no wasabi cream sauce on my order and it was on it. A little over priced for mediocre sushi"
