Diner Reviews
  • "The atmosphere was great & it was a hot evening so we got a great seat with a view on the patio. But I have to say, as fancy & renowned as this place was, it was not even close to the best place we ate at during our trip. The wines were not very fantastic, for one. But more so, the recommended wine & food pairings which I went with from the menu were really not that great paired with the food. The food was okay on its own, but there was some element that didn't go very well with it. I had the Elk steak and with smoked farro. The smokey farro wasn't my cup of tea. The elk was cooked well but it was a bit much for me. The budino for dessert sounded great on the menu but just ended up being a chocolate pudding. I expected more."

  • "overcooked food, lacking in visual appeal and product freshness - nothing of the bright, summer environment. terrible waiter, no communication skills not aware of his customers"

  • "We've been here a few times, and always enjoy the experience and food. The view here simply can't be beat, it's spectacular. On our last visit I had the Tuna in a can appetizer, and the Elk with smoked faro for the main, my wife had the chef's 3 course tasting menu. I really enjoyed the tuna app, but wasn't a fan of my Elk main, most notably the smoked faro. The smokiness of the faro overpowered everything else on the plate, it was just too much. If you like the smell of a forest fire, and always wished you could eat a forest fire, then this would be a dish for you. I finished my meal with the chocolate budini, which is always awesome, love this Miradoro dessert!! My wife really enjoyed all her plates, and we'll be back again."

  • "We've dined at a number of Okanagan wineries over the years, but this was our first time to a Tinhorn Creek. It won't be our last!"

  • "My wife and I ordered the chef's special....it was not special. I think he was trying to do too much, or something. There were little gems, like the hand crafted pasta on the main chicken dish, but only about 8 pieces of that. The chicken...meh. The appy was pretty good, better than expected for farmed fish. The desert was an unfortunate blueberry tart. The crust...bulletproof...the blueberries...dessicated to tastelessness. It was sugary. But I expected, and paid, for more."

  • "This was our second visit to Miradoro at Tinhorn Creek Winery and just like the first visit, the food and service were outstanding. It's hard to beat the beautiful view of the valley and miles of vineyards, from the restaurants lovely deck. What better way to cap off a day of wine tasting, than to enjoy an exquisite dinner artfully presented in a beautiful environment. We would highly recommend checking out the Tinhorn Creek winery, and a night out at Miradora if you're visiting the Okanagan's wine country. I'm sure you won't be disappointed."

  • "There are better places in the valley for dinner. We found it to be quite loud and the service not up to snuff"

  • "We arrived the evening of Fathers' Day fearing it would be crowded and noisy. It was not. We ordered the three course tasting menu with accompanying wines. Their tasting menu features seasonal foods. That day it featured zucchini blossoms stuffed with halibut and new potatoes , duck with young vegetables, followed by a little new rhubarb in the dessert. All were excellent. And the wine pairings were exceptional. Excellent service was also paired with a very pleasant ambiance."

  • "We dined here last year and loved it so much that we brought 2 other couples with us this year (from Vancouver) and we all left there saying "wow!". We ate at 2 other wineries in the area this year, but Miradoro at Tinhorn Creek was a hands-down favorite (as it was last year, too). Both the food and service were fantastic!"

  • "Food and service at the restaurant were great. However, parking was a problem. To Miradoro - In the future, please reserve parking spots for your patrons if there is a conflicting event at the winery. Or at least, advise your patrons of the other event and give them the option to choose another evening (a quieter one) to come for dinner. We had done the Half Corked that day (18km), were dressed up for dinner (heels and sundresses) so did not appreciate parking down the hill and then walking up."

  • "Our group of four was in the Okanagan for a three day wine tour. We had not previously been to this restaurant and so put it on the list. The restaurant is large and modern with lots of windows to showcase the views. Everything we ordered was superb. The thin crust pizzas are outstanding and made a great appetizer for sharing. Everyone in our group ordered a different main course, from halibut to pasta and we all savoured every mouthful. The presentation, quality of ingredients and eating experience in this restaurant will have us coming back. "

  • "We had one of the best dinners we have had in the last few years. This is a place for those that are looking for some of the best food and wine in the valley. The chef uses local produce and is very creative. A must for foodies. The view from the restaurant is the best in the valley. "

  • "The restraunt is situated in a very appealing setting with beautiful views. The servers very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very appealing. I found some of the food pricey for what you receive. A place for special occasions."

  • "With its breathtaking view, great food and exceptional service this is definitely a place I would dine at again, our experience was made that much better when the owner offered us an exceptional bottle of wine from his private collection to enjoy with our meal. Thank you for a great evening."

  • "I went with my boyfriend to Mirado, excited to try the five course tasting dinner and was not let down by the quality of food, every course was delicious, and I found out made by the sous chef (as the head chef was away). What let us down was the service. We were at a vineyard, and the server had to be asked what type of wines she had paired with the food more than once. This was such a letdown, as we were hoping to learn more about their wines, and what notes had made her pair them with the food. Because of her limited explanation of the food and wine, we gave her an 18% tip ( which seemed quite fair at that point) and she looked offended that she had not received more not very professional! Overall: spectacular food, sub-par service"

  • "We ate here on a Saturday and we were so impressed with the food and service, we came back again the next day with our friends. One of the things we like about dining at Miradoro is that all menu items have a suggestive wine pairing, we especially like this. Defiantly we will be back "

  • "Miradoro is a beautiful venue, however would not even pay 1/2 the price for what they were charging for the food. Had the 3 course meal with wine pairings. Bait & Switch venison with duck. Don't understand the dehydrated root vegetable side dish. The vegetables were not eaten. The only thing good was the appetizer. Dessert was a ricotta block with jam and pears; tasteless. "

  • "Dinning in this restaurant is simply refreshing, the restaurant is not pretensious the service is great, in saying that all the severs are generally happy to be working. The food is always fantastic and you truly get what you pay for, maybe even more. I would highly recommend Miradoro to anyone and we will be back"

  • "Miradoro is a must visit along the Okanagan Wine Route. Truly inspired menu's changing regularly to keep it interesting. We've been back yearly and will continue to return every time we visit the Okanagan. Best plan for a visit is the Tin Horn Creek tasting room prior to dinner. There are also concert series held here that look incredible. They did very well with difficult food allergies also. "

  • "We booked on a Tue in the shoulder season. We were informed that it was a Communal dinner. The menu was fixed and the food was served family style. The salad was delightful esp the nettles and the beef was tender. The wine bathed risotto was wonderfful once you got past the purple color. The price was extremely reasonable"

  • "When we arrived at 8:00 PM, the place was full and noisy (high ceilings!). We were seated right away however the subsequent service was very slow. Our first waitress offered water and then was gone. A kind gentleman (who might have been in charge?) ended up being our waiter and was very helpful and stopped by frequently. The food took a while so I suspect they were short of staff either in the kitchen and/or on the floor. The food was excellent and the wine outstanding!"

  • "Lovely location overlooking vineyards. Menu options somewhat limited; however, food nicely presented and very tasty, especially the "Winter Greens" salad. Staff very pleasant and helpful and the service was well-paced. Our wine selection a little disappointing but adequate. Overall an enjoyable experience. I would recommend this restaurant for its Okanagan wine country cuisine and scenic view."

  • "I love this restaurant. Surprisingly for such a big wine town, there are only a few nice places in Oliver . But Miradoro is a gem. Great menu that highlights sophistication merged with rustic fare. Prices are standard for the quality, The service is always attentive and informed, and while you are waiting for your meal the view is captivating. I am looking forward to the Communal table on Tuesdays nights this year, and hope to attend a concert or two! Recommend this restaurant if you want to impress out-of-town guests."

  • "We have been wanting to try Miradoro since it opened, but being from the lower mainland the opportunities to visit the area are few. We made a last minute decision to come up to sample a few wineries and finally try Miradoro. Being early in the season the restaurant was not as busy as I expected. The greeting at the door, to the service, the food and the wine pairings with are meal were all outstanding. We were here in mid March and would love to come again when the patio is in full swing. Absolutely beautiful setting."

  • "We really enjoyed our meal at Miradora. The menu does not have the usual items on it and our meals were superb. My husband had the duck lasagna and I had the chicken and we both really enjoyed them. The presentation of the meals was lovely. The service was exceptional. We look forward to going back to Miradora in the summer to enjoy the view as well as another meal. We also plan to make a visit for one of their outdoor concerts. Miradora is an hour away from us, but we'd make the trip again in a heartbeat!"

  • "Wonderful food, great service and great ambience. The 4 of us ordered something different - steak, ham in hay, pizza and I had albacore tuna with sweetbreads. The sweetbreads were fantastic! I don't know when I have every enjoyed them more (and I order them a lot). Everyone raved about their meal."

  • "There were six in the group. Two of us ordered the special, soup and pizza. The soup was wonderful but the pizza came burned in a few ares. Not acceptable. These were replaced but not with all the ingredients that were mentioned. The replacement ones were very good though. The four other orders were much enjoyed. The service was very good. We all enjoyed the wine."

  • "Our server (and helper) was so friendly and attentive. She helped to make our dining experience a memorable one. The food was outstanding. Were vegetarian so shared the homemade pasta with heirloom tomatoes and pizza with 4 cheeses including grana padano. We also shared a salad first with greens from the local farm which was the best salad ive ever had! the wine of course was perfect we chose the merlot. this was our last night of our vacation and having dinner at Miradoro was a perfect ending. Thank you!"

  • "Mirador is set on the hill overlooking the Okanagan Valley on the grounds of beautiful Tinhorn Creek Winery. It's a new, beautiful modern design building. The service was very good and the food beautifully presented. The menu is interesting with a good variety and our food was very well prepared. Pricing was fairly standard for that type of restaurant and meal."
