My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Mirador. We were shown to our table by Jordan who took great care of us throughout the entire meal! The food was excellent, and not your typical everyday type menu, great for a special occasion. The restaurant was quiet except for a large party seated in a room separate from the main dining room. Jordan checked on us frequently to make sure our celebration wasn't overlooked!

My wife and I were seated upper level. On lower level another couple were dinning. They finished and left. A wait staff with dangling keys proceeded to disrupt our dinner by clearing their table. It was 8PM at night, but he wanted to go home. Food and view were great.

  • Food was quite good. Understaffed

Food was quite good. Understaffed with tables that were not bussed after the diners left-very unsightly. Our server was quite friendly but he was basically it for the restaurant as the other servers were taking care of room service in the hotel. He admitted they were understaffed. The hotel itself is quite out of the way so diners should be aware. I would not go back as there are many other better choices in the Vail valley.

  • Expensive and Poor Service

We had an Xmas Eve dinner at Mirador and were greeted with a "special" menu that was not relayed to us upon making the reservation. Long story short we ended up with bill for nearly $300 for 3 people for such Xmas favorites as oysters, lobster salad and bass. Our server also disappeared after our main courses were brought out so we ate our meal and then sat for literally 30 minutes with half eaten plates in front of us before giving up and walking around the restaurant to find the server and ask him to box up our desserts as we really didn't want to sit for another hour to wait for that to come out. Worth noting we were the one and only table in the restaurant at the time, 2 other tables showed up later after we had already sat for 20 mins.

Wonderful Dinner at the Mirador. We had a beautiful view of the mountains in a very nice lodge. Our service and food was outstanding. I have already booked another stay later this year and definately will return for a delicious dinner.

What a gorgeous view from the Mirador dining room! This weekend was especially stunning with all the color in the hills near Cordillera. While the food was excellent, as was the server, we were mystified why we had to wait over 45 minutes for any food to appear after ordering. We were the only ones in the dining room. It would be great if the timeliness of the food service matched the quality of the view!

The view from the tables in the main dining room and ambience were the selling points of this restaurant. Mirador at the Lodge at Cordillera is the only place to eat literally within miles in the off season. The staff is nice and attentive. Dinner was fairly pricey: the $16 Mezze plate was small 2 Tbps portion of bean hummus, a few artichoke hearts, 10 olives and a sprinkle of caper berries. 5 Oz salmon portion with blood orange gastrique, handful of fingerlings? $20. Salads were tasty but $12 each for smallish plates of greens. Breakfast was very good. Try the Belguim waffle, extra crispy and crunchy with warm syrup. Cobb smoked bacon also a treat. Chicken apple sausage was okay. Eggs Benedict had great hollandaise sauce.

Fabulous mountain views and a rich romantic atmosphere. I eat here often, because I live in the nearby. There is a separate wine room for groups of 10 - 12 that keeps your party separate and private. The staff is friendly and the food has been great. The chef has recently changed so they may be changing the menu but as of now, it's still wonderful. Rather pricey but worth the trek.

The WORST food I've had in ages - sent back my friend's dish and barely made it through mine. Great lodge but horrible restaurant for dinner. Breakfast, however, was lovely.

Good food in pretty environment. Appetizers may be better than entrees. Quite pricey and staff seemed overwhelmed by 3/4 full restaurant. But they do turn out good food

The food was acceptable but the service was very poor. Our server didn't even pay attention to us. We had to call in multiple occasions to request to have our water replenished or to have new bread brought because the meal took a while to come. I think they have great location and a beautiful restaurant with a great potential but they have some work to do with customer service and hiring people that have a passion for the service field. They are not very hospitable.

  • We ordered a Beef tenderloin
    OpenTable Diner Since 2004VIP
    Dined on 8/5/2012
We ordered a Beef tenderloin that didn't even taste like beef. Not sure what it was, but certainly not beef tenderloin. It was overcooked. My wife ordered the day's special which was halibut encrusted in potatoes. It was so overcooked that it was inedible. Both dishes were on very hot plates, so we had the sense they had been prepared and left to roast under hot lights for 10-15 minutes. We overheard the server making misrepresentations about wine. For example, that a Mendoza Malbec was from California. The whole experience was terrible. We will not come back, which is especially bad as we were staying at the resort and driving into town was 20 minutes. But worth it to avoid the restaurant.
