Mira Sushi & Izakaya BarExceeded expectationsFirst time customer, so didn't know what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised. Fish was extremely fresh - sashimi platter was amazing. Creative appetizers - jalapeño hamachi is a must try. Service was excellent, suggestions for sake pairing was spot on. Will definitely go back.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMQuick ServiceThe special rolls I had were a little too sweet, but other than that they were really great!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Korean-Japanese fusionEvery dish was so delicious that I have to return to try all the other items on the menu.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMan oasis of pan-asian goodnessLocated in the flatiron in an intimate space not large but also not too small, my first dining experience at Mira Sushi was memorable for all the right reasons.. The service was extremely friendly and helpful and marked by well-spaced inquiries as to how my date and i were doing. The food -was amazing.. both the sushi and the cooked aspects of the menu were extremely well prepared, presented beautifully, and tasted wonderfully making for a heady mix. This was accentuated by a wide range of quality sake (our choice) as well other beverages and cocktails. Its a testament to how pleasant the experience was that several hours passed without realization of the time.. Hope to see Mira Sushi and Izakaya Bar around for a very very long time.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth a visitParty of two for lunch. We ordered four dishes and three small bottles of cold sake, which, including tip, came to $80.
Of the four items, three of the four were successful.
Spicy Tuna Pizza - Crispy roti, guacamole, masago, kani, furikake flakes: very decadent, perfect for sharing for two.
Kyoto Crunchy Sloppy Joe - kurobuta ground pork, sour mustard, Hawaiian bun: Came three to an order - yummo.
Hamachi Jalapeño - yellowtail sashimi, yuzu chili oil: Best dish of the four. Delicious.
Salmon Poké - salmon sashimi, avocado, togarashi, sweet aioli: Suffered from excessive aioli, which overwhelmed in texture and taste the dish. Our server: poor communicator, lacked knowledge of the preparation and ingredients in the dishes.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat sushiwe found this place and tried it twice; and both times were thrilled with our meals. there are interesting rolls, great salads, delicious soups. love it!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAny night of the weekGreat place to go any night of the week. Food is good - was skeptical about the spicy tuna pizza but glad I tried it. Overall, good place to go with friends or someone. Great ambiance - not too loud or quiet. Perfect neighborhood joint5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSolid and diversified Japanese menuThis is a great neighborhood spot with friendly and attentive service and a well-executed and interesting menu, beyond the standard sushi spot.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy Sushi!Fantastic little place (found it on Yelp) the sushi was AMAZING (I got something called Miso Over Yu that was REALLY good) and very attentive wait staff. Loads of interesting cocktails too. Plenty of things to eat if you aren't into anything raw as well.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDecided to try Mira SushiDecided to try Mira Sushi with friends to celebrate a birthday. Our waitress was so nice. She was very helpful with our selections and everything was on point. Because their address came up wrong and it directed a surprise member of our party to Brooklyn, and he did not make it to the restaurant until we were having dessert, we were comped for a round of drinks and the dessert! They did not have to, but it was very nice. Will go back!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMRecently went to Mira withRecently went to Mira with a group of 10 people, and they were very accommodating. The food was really good, especially the spicy tuna pizza. I would definitely go back with a large or small group.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe second time I've beenThe second time I've been here and it was even better than the first. Great food, wonderful cocktails and great ambiance. The Angry Lobster roll and the TNT roll were two of my favorites. A definite great new neighborhood find.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Meal! What an amazing meal! This was our second time here and it was wonderful. Our server Ellen was the best and after we asked about he chef she brought him out to meet us.
Chef Brian was so nice and spoke to us about his dishes and how he came up with them. He then sent out a dessert for us on the house.
We can't wait to go back. The food was delicious.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMToo close for comfortThe food was great. We ate the minced pork skillet and chicken potstickers for appetizers. We tried 2 specialty rolls, all which were tasty. They were, Hawaiian & Dynamite. What was REALLY quite good was the cocktail Sidecar YUZU. The only drawback about the expereince is that the table were too close to one another and the 2 women sitting next to us were talking way too loud and dropping way too many F-Bombs. There was a party of 12, which took up a lot of the tables. My thoughts are if that party wasn't there they they would have had more room to put these obnoxious women some place else.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMira U R the Loveliest of AllI Never fill out these rating things but this restaurant truly inspired me. Waitstaff was very attentive. We had a 9:30 reservation you know what that usually means in NYC but arrived at 9:10 and they sat us immediately. The Bar area is quite busy with diners at the bar. Modern hipster crowd but not pretentious. Food was totally amazing. The specialty Margherita was lovely. Korean Style Tacos, The Spicy Dumplings, assorted specialty sushi rolls Can't remember everything we ordered but absolutely fantastic time for me and my wifey!! We will return too try other dishes on this menu. If you enjoy japanese food this is a real winner!! BTW easy on the wallet too we had 8 dishes 5 cocktails buck 30 including tip!!!3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFound it on a whim and lovedFound it on a whim and loved it. Great new neighborhood sushi place that offers more!2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, worth the locationThe food was really fantastic! The location is a bit strange and out of the way, but it's definitely worth the trek. The pizza appetizer was really original and delicious, as were the special rolls we ordered (the Mira roll in particular).2/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
