This is a great place to get to know someone because its quiet but not like a library. The food could be better, I suggest you stick to the Indian food which was very good.

Service so poor, while we were waiting for drinks and the table to be bussed, completely forgot how much I enjoyed the food. Most disapointing was that when I alerted someone who appeared to be a manager, their was no increase sense of urgency.

The interior space is very dramatic and appealing. The service was very helpful and good. However, The food got mixed reviews. We had a smoked eggplant dish that was spectacular. The vegetable biryani was quite good. However, the chicken in the chicken tikka masala was tough.. as was the lamb in the lamb saag. However the sauces were flavorful and the bread quite tasty.
Overall we would go back.

We decided to have a tasting of the appetizers to get a feel for the variation in tastes (south asian flare) and we were delighted with the outcome except for the calamari which had little taste and the associated dipping sauce was bland. The potato pancakes with the chickpeas was yummy, scallops were perfect, shrimp just spicy enough, and the naan was soft and tasty. We had a glass of the house wine which was not good--go with a bottle or try their specialty "tini's" is my suggestion. Service was iffy--I think they have new staff and are getting out the kinks.

Long Island does not have one good Indian restaurant and Mint does nothing to change that. The food is, at best, middling to fair. The service is anywhere from atrocious to slow. If you can't make the trip to the city, Mint is the best out of a very sorry lot.

I went twice to Mint last week and I really enjoyed the food. The vegetable samosas were delicious, the Malai Chicken incredibly juicy and the Chicken Masala addicting! Their naan bread is very good and overall everything we tried was very good. I would definitely recommend it!
