A word from MINT
The only Indian restaurant to be awarded by Time Out New York. The 110 seat restaurant is located within the newly renovated San Carlos Hotel with a street and lobby entrance. The exotic atmosphere whisks you to Southeast Asia as soon as you open the door and spot the stone waterfall

cascading down the wall. Orange, red, and fuscia drum lights are snuggled together throughout the long dining room, and painted panels of mint, yellow, and green hang over striped banquettes. There is a semi-private room complete with audio video equipment that seats 12. Mint is a labor of love for Gary Sikka, and he is taking great pride in bringing an exemplary dining experience in an atmosphere that is both tranquil and exhilarating. The definition of mint is "an aromatic refreshing herb that serves as a central ingredient in accompaniment sauces in Indian cuisine." That can also be said of the new restaurant that is its namesake.

Once I found this place, it's the first place I think of when I think of Indian food. It is very well prepared and served tastefully. The mix of dishes is great and our waiter has always made great suggestions. We really felt cared for.

It was my first time at the restaurant. The ambiance was good - more on the romantic side, that my cousin and I felt a bit out of place. But the food was good, a few items on the menu were different so we liked that. The service was ok, saying there were not too many folks there, we felt the waiters could have been more attentive to us.

I chose Mint for my Dinner Club outing. There were six of us and we all ordered different meals and a few appetizers to share. The food was fantastic! So delicious. The staff was very helpful with giving us suggestions. We had a vegan among us and one who didn't like her food too spicy and we all found something good to eat. I had the Chicken Jalfrezi with some garlic naan. Yum! Yum! Yum! Everyone applauded my restaurant choice.

Been meaning to try for a while, and finally went last night. It's a cute place, modern, clean/trendy. The garlic nanne which was perfect cuz it wasnt stale or hard or anything but soft and tasty! I will def go back to try other things on the menu! Nothing was really that spicy which was good for me cuz I can't take much of it, but I am sure there are other dishes that are spicier. The decor and service was also very good and the place is perfect for a date or just dinner with friends. Entrees are pricey ($20-30 i think) but the appetizers are not really (under $10) and its all shareable. Can't wait to go back! i seriously have never been to an Indian restaurant where the food was just right and also clean and chic

Have been to this restaurant over the last 4 years. Always love the food! I recommend trying the shrimp balchau for appetizer and the lobster masala for the entree. Going with a group of about 4-6 people is great here because the waitstaff serves each person a little bit of each entree. Everyone gets a fair share!
