Minetta TavernBurger HeavenThis place is a gem! You must get the "Black Label Burger", might be the most expensive burger I have ever had but WELL WORTH IT! The ambiance is awesome. Very much like a speak-easy. Romantic, good service. Next time I will be getting the bone marrow... looks to die for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic! In a cosy, classic old restaurant is a real gem. Due to the original setting of the place the seating is somewhat cramped, but that is quickly overcome by a very friendly and professional crew. Perfectly timed and personal with a fingertip feel!
The food was very good and the drink suggestions were to the point.

A style of restaurant that is sadly disappearing. A must-dine for anyone in NYC.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMReminded me of stepping backReminded me of stepping back in time, quaint and classy at the same time. Food outstanding. Great bar service too.

Wonderful food!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to the Minetta TavernI've been to the Minetta Tavern a few times and have never been disappointed. This time was no different. Thanks to it being Easter weekend we were able to be seated an hour before our reservation. The staff are friendly and diligent and the food great. The duck hash is my favourite and they make some of the best fries ever.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was fantastic fromThis place was fantastic from start to finish! We felt like we were in old New York, we'll be back for more.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSqueeze In and EnjoyOur reservation was honored on time.
We received a nice, if cramped, table at the circular banquettes in back. Appetizers were exemplary - the marrow bones were a wonderful presentation, more dramatic that that at St. John which started the craze. The shallot confit was a nice complement. Huitres et crepinettes brought four briny bivalves and two meatball-like sausages, wrapped in melting caul fat. A yummy combination.
My son and I had the famed $26 Black Label burger. It had a deep rich meat flavor that was more like a good steak than a burger. No cheese, just well cooked onions bibb lettuce leaf, tomato. Excellent fries. Ketchup not offered, not needed. Wife's pigs trotters were dispatched quickly. Spinach and mushroom sides also good.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic athmosphere andFantastic athmosphere and fabolous service combined with good food provides for a great dinner set.
Really enjoyed this3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went late at night andWe went late at night and it was very busy and bustling so maybe not the best place for a romantic dinner. As with a lot of New York restuarants space is at a premium so it is cosy to say the least and you may find yourself listening to your neighbours conversation whethwr you like it or not!
The food was very good though with an interesting and varied menu choice. We ordered White Asparagus and Halibut from the specials and Roasted Bone Marrow and Pig's trotter. Very rich but the menu encourages a sense of adventure. The service throughout was of a very high standard.
Discretely located in the hustle and bustle of Grennwich Village we would definitely recommend for dinner.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service & outstandingGreat service & outstanding food! Came highly recommended and didn't disappoint.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeNice place, nice location. On the walls, pictures of a relative of my wife... It's lovely to see, many yeras after. They were the owners until the end of the Sixties. Picutres with Frank Sinatra, Joe Di Maggio with... some relatives of us, living in the Usa at that time (we are italians). Good foord, place a little overcrowed ant too mucho noise for conversation. But great restaurant.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great ambiance,Great food, great ambiance, a true New York dining experience. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone, foodie or not.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent evening. VeryAn excellent evening. Very friendly staff particularly at the bar and reception. Great food. Great ambience.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMReally, really good. We managedReally, really good. We managed to score a table one month in advance, and we were oh so glad we did! Took our 12 year old who was feeling a bit under the weather, and the waitress was so kind and attentive, bringing him ginger ale for what ailed him, as well as some comfort food, that by the time it was time for the chocolate souffle, she had effected a 'miracle' cure. Wonderful ambience and location in the Village make this a splendid place for a date or family night out before Monday Night Magic a couple doors down. We had the filets and they were done perfectly, with the perfect amount of crusting. Good food, well prepared, excellent service, fabulous ambience -- I'd be here at least every week if I lived in New York.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWow! great lunch! Last timeWow! great lunch! Last time we were in NYC we were previously at Minetta Tavern for dinner and decided to try it for lunch - We were not disappointed - service was excellent and the burgers were great!! will definately come again.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Black Label was everyThe Black Label was every great thing that has been written. For a busy brunch time, the food arrived amazingly quick. Latkes were just right, the salmon was not too salty and was very fresh. Shirred eggs were quite fluffy for a baked dish and allowed the mushrooms to shine through. Duck hash had a minimal amount of grease keeping the potatoes crispy. Bacon was thick, smoky, and had just the right texture - firm but not at all tough.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBEst burgers ever!! And theBEst burgers ever!! And the bloody marys are also great!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMthe joint is jumpin'From the outside you wouldn't notice much of anything about the 75-year old Minetta Tavern has changed. The Greenwich Village hangout of writers, poets, and pugilists looks much the same as ever: frozen in time on a shoddy corner of MacDougal Street and Minetta Lane, it’s louvered storefront windows creating the perfect redoubt for all sorts of layabouts and hangers-on. Inside, however, restaurateur Keith McNally along with chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson have meticulously updated the interiors and the menu, transforming it into the hottest French steakhouse in town. It's six o'clock on a Saturday night and behind the velvet curtains – ropes being so last century - the joint, as they say, is jumpin’. more: http://bit.ly/10Nrfkg3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA delicious dinner and excellentA delicious dinner and excellent service, albeit a bit noisy for folks who want to talk.2/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband comes here allMy husband comes here all the time for lunch, this was my 2nd time. Burgers are the best. I prefer the Minetta, he the Black Label, but both are delicious and juicy! We started with bone marrow, with its delicious sweet onion accompaniments. Drinks are amazing and they have a nice selection of gin based cocktails which is nice (oh and a delicious one using Tito's vodka, try it). Sat in the corner booth close to the bar, so it was a lively, but comfortable.1/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
