Black Label gets gold starBlack label burger was very good. Could taste different cuts in there. Carmelized onions great touch. Crepes with hazelnut buttery sauce was a great finish.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreatest Burger EverMy friends and I went here for brunch and it was just a great experience overall. We had ordered the latkes and of course the black label burgers and everything was just phenomenal. The server and staff were very polite and attentive. I cannot wait until I get to come back for dinner.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMno condiments necessaryI had the black label burger and it was so perfect it needed no ketchup or mustard. The beef was juicy and flavorful; I wished I had ordered two.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPhenomenal BurgerMust order the Black Label Burger.....it is no joke! While the price tag may seem hard to justify to some, it is honestly worth every dollar. You will not be disappointed!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousFood was wonderful! A little pricy ($26 for a burger) but definitely delicious! It was however a little cramped inside.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGet the Black Label!Appetizers were the bone marrow and a special foie gras pâté. The marrow was delicious and flavorful, served in the bone
Is the burger worth $26? Yes and no. No in the terms of are you really getting $26 of food for that money--nobody's arguing that you can't get a burger for less money or as much food or better nutrition, what have you. However, you're getting a unique culinary experience. To call this burger "art" isn't right. Eating meat of this quality is as if you're eating your favorite steak in a hamburger. The flavors of quality beef are on the money and the top quality of the meat truly allows it to be cooked to order. All this in the texture and seasoning that only ground beef allows.
$26 for perfection in a burger!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTHE best burgerThe Black label burger was incredible...best burger I have ever eaten!!! The potato pancakes with smoked salon, poached eggs and hollandaise was so perfect....and the pasta with pancetta was excellent. The side of bacon was tasty but I've had better, so I would not order that again. I cannot wait to go back!!!!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOld skool NYCSteeped in old skool city charm.
New York's answer to the brown derby
Server was new and not so hot, but wasn't able to dampen the experience.
Very pricey, but O so cool!!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNice meal! The kitchen prepared our steak and hamburger to precisely the correct temperature, which many restaurants fail to do with bone-in steaks and thick burgers. Bravo! This was our second time at this restaurant, and we were pleased. Will be back.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMYou MUST have the burger it'sYou MUST have the burger it's the reason we traveled from London and it simply has to be the best burger in NYC if not the US of A. Beautifully cooked and rare means rare - nearer to blue but that's how a burger made with good aged beef is cooked. Staff friendly without being overly so. Well worth the flight over!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways wonderfulEverything about the Minetta Tavern is well done and fun.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place !!!!Great food, great service. IF ONLY FOR THE BEST HAMBURGER ON THE EAST COAST, YOU WILL BE DELIGHTED!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent choiceA top quality experience all around. Excellent food, well-crafted cocktails, and thick ambiance. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Great for a couple or group of 4 or less. Call early for reservations, I would not recommend walking in and waiting. Minetta Tavern is highly recommended.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTables are FAR too close together,Tables are FAR too close together, but the food was delicious. One of the main reasons for booking had been the infamous souffles for desert, but I was extremely disappointed when I came for lunch and was told that they only served them at dinner time. I had hoped they may accommodate my special request, but to no avail. Great restaurant in an otherwise studenty neighbourhood.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding! This is the first time I have been in your restaurant. My brother recommended this place and I don´t regret going.
When we arrived and looked outside, we thought okay place. But after coming in we were quite surprised. The atmosphere was amazing. the bar was just incredibly nice. Very good drinks. The food tasted very good, I ate Black Label burger. The burger can recommend everyone to try. The waiter we had provided full service. Dice 6 of Minetta!!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMDidn't disappointMy friend and I were very much looking forward to dining here and we booked our table online from Australia. The food was outstanding and it felt like a real privilege to dine in such a famous restaurant with a rich history. Service was very smart and professional but also friendly.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBurger HeavenThis place is a gem! You must get the "Black Label Burger", might be the most expensive burger I have ever had but WELL WORTH IT! The ambiance is awesome. Very much like a speak-easy. Romantic, good service. Next time I will be getting the bone marrow... looks to die for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic! In a cosy, classic old restaurant is a real gem. Due to the original setting of the place the seating is somewhat cramped, but that is quickly overcome by a very friendly and professional crew. Perfectly timed and personal with a fingertip feel!
The food was very good and the drink suggestions were to the point.

A style of restaurant that is sadly disappearing. A must-dine for anyone in NYC.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOMG, Burger. The food was seriously amazing. We went for brunch and ordered the french toast and duck hash for the table to start. Both were absolutely delicious.
Then we each ordered the Black label Burger. Definitely worth the $26.
The service was not great, though. Had a bit of an attitude. But, the experience was not lost.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMReminded me of stepping backReminded me of stepping back in time, quaint and classy at the same time. Food outstanding. Great bar service too.

I had the poached eggs with salmon on a latke and it was fantastic, although a bit heavy in the morning. The cafe au lait I ordered was near perfect. My friend had the Black Label Burger and that was incredible as well. Most surprising aspect of the experience was that on a Sunday, this gem was not overly crowded. Even if we had not made an advance reservation, I don't think getting a table would have been overly difficult.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMStill going strongStill going strong after all these years. Still hard to get a table. Good food, great service. Definitely a repeat visit, if you can get a reservation at a decent hour.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSeating on banquettes painfullySeating on banquettes painfully close. Wonderful food!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best restaurantsOne of the best restaurants in New York, and as an extension, America.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to the Minetta TavernI've been to the Minetta Tavern a few times and have never been disappointed. This time was no different. Thanks to it being Easter weekend we were able to be seated an hour before our reservation. The staff are friendly and diligent and the food great. The duck hash is my favourite and they make some of the best fries ever.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was fantastic fromThis place was fantastic from start to finish! We felt like we were in old New York, we'll be back for more.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSqueeze In and EnjoyOur reservation was honored on time.
We received a nice, if cramped, table at the circular banquettes in back. Appetizers were exemplary - the marrow bones were a wonderful presentation, more dramatic that that at St. John which started the craze. The shallot confit was a nice complement. Huitres et crepinettes brought four briny bivalves and two meatball-like sausages, wrapped in melting caul fat. A yummy combination.
My son and I had the famed $26 Black Label burger. It had a deep rich meat flavor that was more like a good steak than a burger. No cheese, just well cooked onions bibb lettuce leaf, tomato. Excellent fries. Ketchup not offered, not needed. Wife's pigs trotters were dispatched quickly. Spinach and mushroom sides also good.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic athmosphere andFantastic athmosphere and fabolous service combined with good food provides for a great dinner set.
Really enjoyed this3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went late at night andWe went late at night and it was very busy and bustling so maybe not the best place for a romantic dinner. As with a lot of New York restuarants space is at a premium so it is cosy to say the least and you may find yourself listening to your neighbours conversation whethwr you like it or not!
The food was very good though with an interesting and varied menu choice. We ordered White Asparagus and Halibut from the specials and Roasted Bone Marrow and Pig's trotter. Very rich but the menu encourages a sense of adventure. The service throughout was of a very high standard.
Discretely located in the hustle and bustle of Grennwich Village we would definitely recommend for dinner.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service & outstandingGreat service & outstanding food! Came highly recommended and didn't disappoint.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeNice place, nice location. On the walls, pictures of a relative of my wife... It's lovely to see, many yeras after. They were the owners until the end of the Sixties. Picutres with Frank Sinatra, Joe Di Maggio with... some relatives of us, living in the Usa at that time (we are italians). Good foord, place a little overcrowed ant too mucho noise for conversation. But great restaurant.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great ambiance,Great food, great ambiance, a true New York dining experience. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone, foodie or not.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent evening. VeryAn excellent evening. Very friendly staff particularly at the bar and reception. Great food. Great ambience.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMReally, really good. We managedReally, really good. We managed to score a table one month in advance, and we were oh so glad we did! Took our 12 year old who was feeling a bit under the weather, and the waitress was so kind and attentive, bringing him ginger ale for what ailed him, as well as some comfort food, that by the time it was time for the chocolate souffle, she had effected a 'miracle' cure. Wonderful ambience and location in the Village make this a splendid place for a date or family night out before Monday Night Magic a couple doors down. We had the filets and they were done perfectly, with the perfect amount of crusting. Good food, well prepared, excellent service, fabulous ambience -- I'd be here at least every week if I lived in New York.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWow! great lunch! Last timeWow! great lunch! Last time we were in NYC we were previously at Minetta Tavern for dinner and decided to try it for lunch - We were not disappointed - service was excellent and the burgers were great!! will definately come again.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Black Label was everyThe Black Label was every great thing that has been written. For a busy brunch time, the food arrived amazingly quick. Latkes were just right, the salmon was not too salty and was very fresh. Shirred eggs were quite fluffy for a baked dish and allowed the mushrooms to shine through. Duck hash had a minimal amount of grease keeping the potatoes crispy. Bacon was thick, smoky, and had just the right texture - firm but not at all tough.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBEst burgers ever!! And theBEst burgers ever!! And the bloody marys are also great!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMthe joint is jumpin'From the outside you wouldn't notice much of anything about the 75-year old Minetta Tavern has changed. The Greenwich Village hangout of writers, poets, and pugilists looks much the same as ever: frozen in time on a shoddy corner of MacDougal Street and Minetta Lane, it’s louvered storefront windows creating the perfect redoubt for all sorts of layabouts and hangers-on. Inside, however, restaurateur Keith McNally along with chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson have meticulously updated the interiors and the menu, transforming it into the hottest French steakhouse in town. It's six o'clock on a Saturday night and behind the velvet curtains – ropes being so last century - the joint, as they say, is jumpin’. more: http://bit.ly/10Nrfkg3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA delicious dinner and excellentA delicious dinner and excellent service, albeit a bit noisy for folks who want to talk.2/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband comes here allMy husband comes here all the time for lunch, this was my 2nd time. Burgers are the best. I prefer the Minetta, he the Black Label, but both are delicious and juicy! We started with bone marrow, with its delicious sweet onion accompaniments. Drinks are amazing and they have a nice selection of gin based cocktails which is nice (oh and a delicious one using Tito's vodka, try it). Sat in the corner booth close to the bar, so it was a lively, but comfortable.1/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
