Mimosa GrillWe enjoyed it very muchBeautiful interior, lots of window tables. Service was quick, food was amazing. We loved the flavor palette, best shrimp and grits I've ever had. Portion sizes for salad, appetizer, main courses, and desserts was spot-on. We will definitely come back!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous LunchAfter a hiatus, two of my friends and I dined at Mimosa for lunch this week. I had the Mediterranean wrap with a side (I chose green beans but the decadent sweet potato fries were an option!). My friends had the trout and the Asian chicken salad respectively. All were phenomenal. I love the way Mimosa pays attention to details, regardless of what you are eating. I also appreciate the way they mix southern cooking with modern ingredients and cutting edge preparations. Mimosa just continues to keep things evolving while holding on to favorites.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a pleasureJust a fine restaurant. Fine Southern food beautifully prepared and served.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic Charlotte CuisineOne of the few restaurants that can be conveyed as a charlotte cuisine. It creates a new cuisine that is both flavorful yet unique to the region.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and ServiceWe arrived around 5:30 to beat the dinner crowd before the concert. The food and service were great - the only issue was a wedding rehearsal dinner in an adjacent outdoor area. The staff tried to minimize the noise and traffic with only limited success. We'll be back!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant was great for aRestaurant was great for a pre-symphony dinner for 4. Food was excellent and attractive; waiter was knowledgeable & attentive; blackened mahi-mahi was delicious, as was the trout.
We thought the 3 course special was a good option with a nice variety of choices; three of the four made that choice and everything was very good.
We keep going back to Mimosa's for lunch & dinner because it is not a noisy restaurant and the food and service are dependably good quality.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was beyond amazing! TheyFood was beyond amazing! They not only were aware of my food allergies but they accomodated my food accordingly. The cheddar-beer soup was great, I hope they don't take it from the menu. Excellent service.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dinner at an old favoriteOur three course dinner (only $33) was terrific on Friday night. the service was friendly and efficient - providing us with plenty of time to make our 7:30 NC Dance Theatre. Loved the ricotta and spinach salad and the trout was really exceptional. I usually don't order potatoes with fish - but the mashed Yukon golds were excellent and different. would pick the Crème Brule next time - although the chocolate cake was very good. Great value - had not been to Mimosa an a long time and really enjoyed it - we'll be back.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable Dining ExperienceTrendy Charlotte restaurant. Excellent food selection and excellent taste! Lovely experience. We received a tip from the hotel to come here and we were so glad we did - a wonderful experience.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday post opera dinnerWe really enjoyed our dinner...had the $30 special which included appetizer/salad, entree and desert...this gave us the opportunity to try quite a few dishes on the menu. Each dish was not only delicious but the right size and artfully presented. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable...Also, Sunday night was 1/2 price for wine by the bottle..So we had a great meal...I have a hearing disability and the booth was quiet and intimate but at the same time open to the rest of the restaurant...Also, I liked that the views out the window were of the huge courtyard, trees and water/sculpture installation, not cars and a parking lot. We'll definitely return sometime in the future.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpectedly impressedGreat experience. The waiter I had was amazing. Super friendly, helpful and attentive, despite visibly having a bad day (i.e., things were spilled on him, etc.). The restaurant was very accommodating to my constant reservation time changes. The food was outstanding and I was so impressed at how they opened up the whole menu to Dine Out Charlotte (vs setting aside the worst food items for the Dine Out menu). I definitely plan to return. This is a gem that needs to be in other cities as it truly sets the example of how a well run restaurant experience should be. The managers must've stressed the importance of waitstaff being the "face" of the customer experience.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Mimosa Grill duringWe went to Mimosa Grill during Restaurant Week. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the entire menu was available not just a few choices. The service was great and the food was excellent!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe server was very accommodatingThe server was very accommodating as a member of our group was late but we never felt pressured and our drinks were always full. The pre-dinner break/biscuits were FANTASTIC! The food was good; however the server recommended the specialty stuffed hush puppies. Although the dish was good, the hush puppies were burned on the outside. The other dishes (Swordfish special and Wagyu flank steak) were good.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate outside and watchedWe ate outside and watched the cycle races - what a perfect night. The mussels were excellent and spicy. The "strawberry rubarb" salad was ok, the goat cheese and strawberries fresh and the rubarb mere dried slivers. The entrees were excellent - salmon and pork chop but sides of spinach was way to salty and the potatoes with the fish we thought we be a german warm potato salad with bacon turned out to be chunks of burned potates. Our desserts were excellent - a peach cobbler and cheese cake.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant is great. The onlyRestaurant is great. The only think I really disagree with is that most of the food has pork in it. The Maui Maui fish with sweet potatoes and dumpling is one of the best dishes. CJ they store manage is great he make sure you are being assistant, and the serves are treating and getting your food out on time. I am not from Charlotte but when I am in Charlotte I have to visit the grill.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed Mimosa Grill!I had not been to Mimosa in several years, so decided to check it out before going to a concert a Knight Theater. The restaurant is conveniently located to the theater. We had a wonderful meal! The menu has a nice variety. There were 5 of us, and they seated us at a wonderful round table by the window.
Several of us got a salad and an appetizer as an entree...which was a perfect portion! The mussels were fantastic, as were the crab cakes. THe beet salad is a "not miss". Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgable. They have a nice wine menu; though the mark up is a bit higher than some other restaurants.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTheresaDinner was delicious and CJ (GM) made sure all of our needs were met. I definitely recommend Mimosa Grill. Our table was by the window so we could enjoy the uptown sites while dining.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI made a business lunch reservationI made a business lunch reservation. Upon arrival I was greeted by name. When the rest of the party arrived, we were quickly seated.
Service was exceptionally good, as were the food and the ambiance. We were expecting to have a great lunch and great time at Mimosa Grill and we weren't disappointed.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful lunch celebratingA wonderful lunch celebrating a birthday. The waiter was excellent.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMServer Adam was professional,Server Adam was professional, pleasant and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely dine here again.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal. Very knowledgableWonderful meal. Very knowledgable waiter who was able to discuss regional dishes and make recommendations. A great dining experience3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious! My friends and I chose Mimosa Grill as our celebratory restaurant as a treat to ourselves after finishing the NC Half Marathon last weekend. Overall, we had a great meal, from appetizers, to entrees to deserts. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We all had the same entree, roast duck breast with lobster ravioli and asparagus. Portions were large, except that there could have been a few more stalks of asparagus on the plate, as it was skimpy, but delicious. The duck was served rare. We also had desert--I had an apple bread pudding, served warm in a mason jar with a scoop of ice cream. The desert portion was not large, but just enough to provide a sweet ending to the meal. The restaurant also provides free valet parking.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant!Fantastic menu and dinner. Creative without being froufrou, just delicious. Great service, local food prepared with a fine hand. Smooth going on a busy Saturday night . We'll be back!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMEXCEPTIONAL!Everything was exceptional! Server was Lauren who did a wonderful job informing us of the new menu and made great suggestions all 5 in our party was very pleased3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAn overall good, solid diningAn overall good, solid dining experience. Food was excellent except for shrimp appetizer (shrimp were overlooked)-it was sent back. No pushback from our waiter and manager apologized profusely. Biscuit with tasso ham and chow chow was delicious. I had the scallop entree with Benton's bacon and scallops were cooked perfectly and dish had excellent flavors. My wife had the short ribs and they did not disappoint. It's a busy, open restaurant, so noise level was medium to high as expected. Wait staff did a good job getting us out in time to make our show.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Brunch in town!We were there on a Sunday to celebrate my birthday with family -- we were not aware of the buffet and we normally don't do these....we were shocked! It was outstanding -- top quality, great variety, beautifully displayed, clean....we will be back very soon! The grits and crawfish etoufee were to "die for"! jean3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVery much enjoyed dining here.Very much enjoyed dining here. We made reservations for a Saturday, March 16th @ 6:00. There was a large street fair going on in front of the restaurant for St. Patty's Day but we were seated promptly at a window seat to watch the crowd. Appetizers and drinks were served in a timely manner but the entrees took quite a long time. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was amazing! Waitstaff was professional and knowledgable yet we did need to "flag down" our waiter on a few occasions. I had the North Carolina Wanchese Scallops which were cooked especially well. My husband ordered the specialty Sea Bass but was less impressed as it was served Asian style (entire fish served, including the head & tail) which required quite a bit of work.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMRay FThe service in the bar was lacking but the rest of the evening was great. I enjoyed the food very much. Wine list is fair at best (mostly American). There was only one french white burgundy on the list that I ordered to enjoy with the fish;they were out so I ordered a Pino Grigio and stuck with appetizers which were all amazing.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful gem with trueA wonderful gem with true farm to fork attitude. If you enjoy eating local and tasty food, give them a try....you will not be disapointed.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and the service atThe food and the service at Mimosa was great! We really enjoyed the sea scallops, and the restaurant was very accommodating in changing out the side options. On the downside....the restaurant was really loud and we were seated next to the loudest table (one with 2 children under the age of 1).3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious, theThe food was delicious, the duck is notable. Servers and bartenders are friendly.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food. Special ofDelicious food. Special of the day was pot roast. You could cut it with a fork the meat was so tender. Chris, our server, was friendly, helpful and attentive.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
