Diner Reviews
  • "When we arrived, the staff at the counter was not friendly and helpful and didn't even know about OpenTable reservations. Disinterested, cold face when we asked about the menu, he just point towards the board though they have printed menu. Have not seen such un-friendly staff!!!"

  • "Mimi's Kabob had a pleasant write up about its predominantly Afghan cuisine. We were not expecting the interior ambiance of a sub shop. (Subs are also on the menu.) Ordering at the counter, I was hopeful for savory Afghan food I had before as my dining companions had not. After getting our own drinks at the fountain, a basket of warm delicious bread arrived. Shortly thereafter, two vegetable platters and a chicken kabob entree were brought. The chatter at the table covered my disappointment over the soggy bland spinach and plain pumpkin next to the okay potato and peas. The best of the vegetable dishes was the eggplant strewn with tomatoes and herbs. If the eggplant was the best of the vegetable dishes, the best of all: the drink dough."

  • "Mimi's is fine if you know in advance that it's not the kind of restaurant one expects when making a reservation through OpenTable. No one greets you at the door and asks if you have a reservation. Instead, you enter a small cafe where you walk up to the counter to see the menu board and then order at the counter. Then you walk up to another counter to get your own tableware, napkin and water. When my main course arrived and my appetizer was no where in sight, I walked up to the cashier to inquire, at which point he pointed to the pass-thru to the open kitchen where my appetizer was waiting for me, so I carried it back to the table myself. It wasn't the sort of place I would have chosen to go to with an out-of-town coworker."

  • "Mimi's is a terrific little place where the food is consistantly good! Mimi is there working all sides of the restaurant."

  • "The service was excellent here - everyone was accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. Our food, the vegetable platter and chicken/kofta combo, was filling and a good price for the size. Everything was flavorful and authentic. The atmosphere was energetic, with children of various ages enjoying themselves, and a diverse group of people were present. I plan to return again soon and would recommend it to a friend."
