One of my favorite patio restaurants. We started with the crab cakes, very good not to bready or fishy tasting. The entrees we ordered were shrimp tacos and fish fry. Both were very good. Would like to try the brunch sometime.

Enjoyed dinner with my parents on the patio. There weren't a lot of people seated outdoors, so it was pretty quiet. My parents ordered the Fried Fish and Fish Tacos. I ordered the Guda Burger (the specialty burger of the week/month). Both fish dishes were really good. The Guda Burger was ok - it could have used some salt and pepper before being cooked. The price for everything was very reasonable.

I would recommend going else where and saving your time/money for a more deserving business we were excited to try out Sail Loft since it opened recently. The location is great and it is nice to have a new place on the water way. But we were disappointed from the start. The bar was filled with 3 extremely drunk bachelor/bachelorette parties, but figured it would be fine since it was nice out and we were sitting on the deck. But the disappointment continued, the drink menu is terrible for a city like milwaukee that is filled with great microbrew options. They carry the standard fare of cheap college life beer. There were limited specialty drinks too. The food was par with the bar options with tasteless cut rate quality and options.

We try many Friday fish frys every year and have a few that we find unusually good and therefore go back again. We really like the food at the Sail Loft. The cod is beer-battered, perfectly cooked, and very crisp. The clam chowder is one of the best I've ever tried. What a great place to sit outside and watch the boat traffic.

Had a most enjoyable dinner August 6th at a table for 3 outside at the water's edge. As often happens when dining out I was looking forward to I was hoping for a fish entree and by the Open Table menu there was a blackened swordfish which sounded delicious. Unfortunately I had not confirmed the item was on the menu and was diappointed it was no longer served. As I had salmon a couple days previous and it being the only other fish option I ordered a burger. Wait staff (we had 2 young ladies as one was just being trained) who gave us excellent service. All 3 of our party enjoyed our meals with perfect weather for an evening outside. Will return again.

Setting was lovely. Went for a romantic birthday dinner. We sat outside, along the river. Started our meal with artichoke dip and bacon wrapped scallops, which were quite nice. Our entrees, flat iron steak with garlic mashed potatoes & asparagus and seafood diablo were superb. Steak was cooked to perfection, and seafood diablo had just the right amount of heat. Even though there was a large party inside, our food arrived promptly and our waiter was attentive. On the downside, the outside seating is on the walking path for the river, and several non-diners, some with pets were walking through the outside tables.

First, the service was great, and the food was decent. It is certainly a better summer location than a winter spot. The only concern was the price. It was a little overpriced. I am glad I went there once, and I may go back in the summer, but this is not a place I need to come back to.

Arrived at 7:30pm on Saturday night and the place seemed empty. We like seafood so we were expecting a good Experience. Service was good (how could it not be, server had nothing else to do.) Food was actually good but near 9:00pm the bar crew showed, played dice and got obnoxiously loud. Had to leave, not a good atmosphere.b

I went with 3 others for lunch on a Saturday and we were the only ones in the dining area with about 6 people eating at the bar. Too bad because we had a great experience. The ambience is nautical, but not over the top, as one would expect being on the Milwaukee River. Very scenic and pleasing to the eye, this place would be even better in the summer due to the giant deck that was obviously closed due to snowy and cold conditions. The food was delicious. All of us were pleased with the quality, presentation and taste. I had battered perch tacos which were light and flaky. The New England clam chowder was absolutely amazing and was loaded with yummy clams. Service was excellent and our waitress was sweet and knowledgeable.

This was our first time at Sail Loft and we will be going back in the future. Even with a large group service was excellent. Our waitress was helpful and checked on us often. The food was really good, everyone enjoyed their meals and requesting separate checks for each group was not an issue.

The food was ok. Milwaukee has some amazing restaurants in the same area that I would go to first before going back to Sail Loft. If you decide to go the one dish that was worth the drive was the small plate shrimp.

The location of the restaurant cannot be beat, right on the rivers edge at the mouth of the lake. The decor in the restaurant is nice and the menu is good. I had trouble picking between two dishes and just picked one when the waitress came. The wait staff was friendly and we were seated immediately when we arrived. My tuna entree didn't have as much flavor as I think i was hoping for, but there was plenty of other menu options.

Sail Loft is a wonderful place to enjoy some outdoor dining. It is right on the Milwaukee River near the arch of the Hoan Bridge. We dined as the sun was setting. Beautiful view. My husband had the fish and chips. I had the blackened Mahi Mahi Po Boy. Both were very tasty. The service was average, but friendly. Soda/Iced Tea refills were made without even having to ask.

Our first visit was on a Friday night to try the fish fry. Its a great place to sit outside on the water and watch the sun set and the boats go by. We thought the beer battered cod was excellent. So was the coconut cream pie and key lime pie. The steak salad was not our favorite.

Nice restaurant for before a show at the Marcus or on a weekend. Food was good and plentiful. The perch was heavily breaded so the broiled option may be better to find the flavor of the fish. Beer selection was very disappointing for Wisconsin. No New Glarus, no Point, lots of InBev.

They need to hire more help and pay better attention to their customers.

Had dinner Friday night and was very pleased with the salmon. They also offered perch and cod for their Friday fish fry. Their New England clam chowder was one of the best we've had. They offer a wide variety of beer and wine. The restaurant is in the former location of Riptide. Can't wait to return when weather is warmer to dine outside and sample more of their menu.
