  • "View was great, would be great for a summer destination. Had the fish and chips and the fish tacos. They were very good. Waiter was great as well. Would definitely go back."

  • "First, the service was great, and the food was decent. It is certainly a better summer location than a winter spot. The only concern was the price. It was a little overpriced. I am glad I went there once, and I may go back in the summer, but this is not a place I need to come back to."

  • "Arrived at 7:30pm on Saturday night and the place seemed empty. We like seafood so we were expecting a good Experience. Service was good (how could it not be, server had nothing else to do.) Food was actually good but near 9:00pm the bar crew showed, played dice and got obnoxiously loud. Had to leave, not a good atmosphere.b"

  • "I went with 3 others for lunch on a Saturday and we were the only ones in the dining area with about 6 people eating at the bar. Too bad because we had a great experience. The ambience is nautical, but not over the top, as one would expect being on the Milwaukee River. Very scenic and pleasing to the eye, this place would be even better in the summer due to the giant deck that was obviously closed due to snowy and cold conditions. The food was delicious. All of us were pleased with the quality, presentation and taste. I had battered perch tacos which were light and flaky. The New England clam chowder was absolutely amazing and was loaded with yummy clams. Service was excellent and our waitress was sweet and knowledgeable."

  • "This was our first time at Sail Loft and we will be going back in the future. Even with a large group service was excellent. Our waitress was helpful and checked on us often. The food was really good, everyone enjoyed their meals and requesting separate checks for each group was not an issue."

  • "Our server had an attitude and needed to be reminded to bring requested items."

  • "The food was ok. Milwaukee has some amazing restaurants in the same area that I would go to first before going back to Sail Loft. If you decide to go the one dish that was worth the drive was the small plate shrimp."

  • "Great assortment of small plates at the Sail Loft! I ordered the chicken lettuce boats and it was a very large serving, plenty to share or great for an entree for one. There was a lot to choose from, I'll be going again!"

  • "Food was very good. Service was efficient. Nice views, right on the river. Very pleasant. Will go again."

  • "The location of the restaurant cannot be beat, right on the rivers edge at the mouth of the lake. The decor in the restaurant is nice and the menu is good. I had trouble picking between two dishes and just picked one when the waitress came. The wait staff was friendly and we were seated immediately when we arrived. My tuna entree didn't have as much flavor as I think i was hoping for, but there was plenty of other menu options."

  • "Sail Loft is a wonderful place to enjoy some outdoor dining. It is right on the Milwaukee River near the arch of the Hoan Bridge. We dined as the sun was setting. Beautiful view. My husband had the fish and chips. I had the blackened Mahi Mahi Po Boy. Both were very tasty. The service was average, but friendly. Soda/Iced Tea refills were made without even having to ask."

  • "Our first visit was on a Friday night to try the fish fry. Its a great place to sit outside on the water and watch the sun set and the boats go by. We thought the beer battered cod was excellent. So was the coconut cream pie and key lime pie. The steak salad was not our favorite."

  • "Nice restaurant for before a show at the Marcus or on a weekend. Food was good and plentiful. The perch was heavily breaded so the broiled option may be better to find the flavor of the fish. Beer selection was very disappointing for Wisconsin. No New Glarus, no Point, lots of InBev."

  • "We enjoyed a table outside on the river. Our server was fabulous, and I wish I could recall her name, as she deserves a shout out."

  • "They have a beautiful outside seating area. Some of our side dishes were cold, but we did not complain because it took so long to get our food."

  • "Good place for a drink and to meet with friends. Food was disappointing. Service was very good. Very good response to concerns per managment re: food but unfortunately food was only fair."

  • "Food was very good. However, we had a big group but only one server and no other bus or table help. When the food came out dishes were still on the table We spent almost $400 and if it wasn't for the view would have been very disappointed. They need to hire more help and pay better attention to their customers."

  • "Had dinner Friday night and was very pleased with the salmon. They also offered perch and cod for their Friday fish fry. Their New England clam chowder was one of the best we've had. They offer a wide variety of beer and wine. The restaurant is in the former location of Riptide. Can't wait to return when weather is warmer to dine outside and sample more of their menu."
