The service was very good, and the food was, too.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat little restaurant downtownOriginally we were going to go to the Chophouse for Milwaukee Dining Week but we decided to order off the regular menu once we arrived (and I'm glad we did!). I had the Ahi Tuna and it was absolutely amazing. Our server was really attentive, as were the various water and bread servers. My only complaint about the restaurant had nothing to do with the restaurant itself. There was a table of very loud women in gym shorts. They seemed very out of place and quite distracting to other patrons. Also have an excellent wine list. May have been the finest calamari I have ever sampled. Top notch sides and salads and fresh baked rolls also featured. However, we asked if we could leave the car in the parking garage qvernight to allow a designted driver to get us home. The Host said no problem with the parking validation. We were then treated to a nasty experience with the parking attendedent who proceeded to berate us for parking overnight and charged us $12.00 to get out.

The waitress was very friendly and all of the staff was focused on giving their customers the best possible service. When I made this reservation to celebrate my husband's birthday, I asked if our previous waiter Joe still worked there. He did still work there so I was told he would be our Waiter --- I was thrilled. My husband and I have thought Joe was the best waiter we ever had. It was like old times; Joe remembered certain things about us and asked us what was new, etc. It was great getting reacquainted again with Joe. The food and wine recommendations from Joe were right on the spot....and we appreciated this! The food was awesome as well as the service. ttle bit before our entrees came. The food was delicious, service un-rushed, and ambiance perfect. I indicated in the comments on the reservation that it was a special day for our son and every member of the team wished him well by name. That small attention was really fun. The food was delicious and price as expected for a downtown steak house. We especially loved the calamri app. One little glitch in the service happened after we ate our dinner. The server sort of disappeared. She did eventually return and offer coffee and dessert but I was wandering if she forgot us. The ambience is sedate and the menu is primarily on the meaty side as the name Chophouse suggests. A bit on the pricey side. Would recommend for a special occasion or business lunch or dinner. The service was wonderful. Parking is free or valet. The quality of the food served, filet and sides of asparagus spears, four-cheese twice baked potato and mushroom caps all very good. The Basil Tomatoe Garlic Soup left something to be desired. It is our go-to restaurant. We always have a lovely time. The ambience with the dark wood and the music is extremely relaxing and we always find the entire staff super friendly. We highly recommend the crab cake appetizer, the wedge salad, and we have so far enjoyed the shrimp, chicken, salmon, and steak entrees on several occasions. We witnessed a marriage proposal on this evening so you can see it is a very romantic restaurant too. We had a lovely time each evening. The staff is so very friendly and welcoming; the decor is so classy with its dark wood and music; the food is outstanding; and overall it was just a wonderful dining experience. All the cuisine that we have tried on the menu this evening and previous evenings has been delicious. We loved the crab cake appetizer, the wedge salad, and the chicken, shrimp, salmon, and steak entrees.
