A word from Milwaukee ChopHouse
The Milwaukee ChopHouse began its critical acclaim six years ago. From the beginning it has earned a reputation for providing a spectacular wine list, a consistent classic menu, all while being delivered by some of the best service professionals the city has to offer. Our cellar is extensive and well thought through. With a list that was honored by The Wine Spectator with the Award of Excellence, how can one not find the perfect choice? The menu is a reflection of its classic steakhouse atmosphere. Some of the best steaks and chops are served along side the freshest seasonal seafood. Located in the heart of downtown, the Milwaukee ChopHouse is within walking distance of the theater district, sports venues, shopping and the lakefront.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "My wife and I had dinner at the Milwaukee Chop house before going to a live show. The table was ready for us however, no assistance was provided to enter the back position in a booth. Our waitress was not attentive at all. The order was incorrect for the sides ordered. The entree was very good however, the sides, service, and overall experience was below the standard for an upscale restaurant. Attention to basic detail would be a step up. If the night is expected to be busy, staff accordingly. We were disappointed and looking forward to a much better experience."

  • "Chop House is the perfect combination of enjoyable restaurant with an exceptional menu and a business location to allow for critical conversations over dinner. On the menu side: The steaks are superb. And there are more than enough other options to satisfy varying tastes. Perparation is spot on, allowing diners to have a truly spectacular meal. Regarding business: the dining room is well-appointed, clean, "hushed" and not cute or themed. It is a comfortable foil for getting to know your work colleagues as well as having a dialog on important business matters. Service is attentive yet not distracting--exactly what you want in this situation. I'd highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "I had the filet and my hubby had the porterhouse with a surf addition of scallops. While our steaks were cooked perfectly and were delicious, the scallops were laughable. Literally. We ordered the trio of sides. The scalloped corn could have been amazing, but was a tad chewy and very difficult to serve out of the plate/tray they used to deliver it to us. The mushrooms were fantastic. The baked potato was nearly inedible, still hard and not that wonderfully light and fluffy potato you should find at a high-end restaurant. Don't bother with making it "loaded" either. Plenty of other options for sides, so try some of those. :). Our waiter, Joey, was friendly and fun to chat with. Definitely will go back, but will just avoid a few pitfalls."

  • "Went for convenience since kids didn't want to go anywhere. Steak alone is around $40 average without any sides nor salad. If you add everything, salad, soup, steak and sides, they are over the price steak house. Good for romantic evening for couple, not for family like we were."

  • "The food was great, service top notch, the only bad thing I could say is it was a little too dark. Turn up the dimmer switch just a hair and it's five stars all the way. Perfect place to take that special someone fir any occasion."

  • "We enjoyed our time at the ChopHouse. Everything was fine except the service was slow. We had to wait for drinks upon arrival, waitress never came back to ask if we wanted a second round, coffee after dinner was slow to be offered, and we waited for our check for sometime. I expected better from the ChopHouse."

  • "A few years ago, my husband and Icelebrated our anniversary there, we decided because we had such acn amazing time then that we'd celebrate our anniversary there again. The 2nd experience was no where near as grand. Our waitress was as pleasant as she could be but so busy and unorganized that she didn't give us much attention. Waited long to be acknowledged wait a long time for drinks meal was just ok when a long time for the bill. We weren't in a hurry but it was hard to watch this poor waitress running so much. The first time we were there they asked what the occasion was and made a feel very special. Also paid for parking because we didn't see a sign saying free valet. Disappointed in the evening and I was so looking forward to it."

  • "Another great dinner at the Milwaukee Chophouse. Went the day after Valentine's but still got to experience their Valentine's menu. My wife and I shared a lobster tail and a New York strip steak, and it was fantastic. There was also mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was fantastic! Dinner started with oysters, shrimp, and seared ahi tuna, followed by chopped salad. Everything was really good. Service was great, food came rather quickly, and they made sure we had enough bread at the table. All in all it was a great experience. If you're looking for a great date night place and love good steak try the Chophouse!"

  • "We enjoyed a nice dinner here on VD. We enjoyed the steak and lobster for two. It got a bit noisy by 7pm but it was tolerable."

  • "Only issue was I noticed I was billed at least $20 more than what was on the bill. Don't know if I missed an added gratuity or a server took advantage of the out of towners."

  • "We made reservations on OpenTable for Sunday night ... but the earliest on the system was 7:15. We had to call the restaurant to get an earlier time. (5:00) Seems there is a glitch in system somewhere. When we arrived at 5, there were plenty of tables available. Othere than that, dining experience was fantastic, as usual."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for a special birthday dinner. We both had a blast, but she thoroughly enjoyed herself! Our server was top notch, attentive, but not pushy. She also made an extraordinary suggestion for our food and we were both very pleased. I would certainly recommend the Milwaukee ChopHouse to any of my friends."

  • "My boyfriend ordered the New York Strip Steak, and I ordered the Crab Cakes from the appetizer's menu (I have a small appetite), you have to order the side dishes ala carte, I sampled his steak, and it was soooo delicious, it was very flavorful and tender. We ordered the Trio Side Dishes (you select three side orders for a fixed price). The service was wonderful, the food was great, and the cost was very reasonable (not including the tip the bill was under $100). You can get valet parking too! We will definitely return again and again."

  • "It was exactly the feel we were going for celebrating our anniversary - romantic, private, and delicious. The restaurant has a cool Chicago vibe similar to The Hilton Hotel. The interior is rich, the ambiance is warm, and the mood is swanky. The decor, design, layout, and menu selections are the best. Every detail is covered and perfected is this Milwaukee gem. We had a two hour dining experience which was just the way we like it when we get every course. We received excellent wine and meal recommendations from our server and we were treated with a special touch."

  • "Great atmosphere and terrific service. Staff from the busboy to the manager were very accessible and pleasant. Salads and soups were good. Sides were all good as well: lobster mac, mushrooms, asparagus. Fish entrees were enjoyed... especially the salmon. The steaks were surprisingly the downfall of the meal. Filet was dry and the prime rib was extremely disappointing. Carrot cake desert helped calm the disappointment."

  • "We have been going to the Milwaukee Chop House for years and I can only say it is getting better and better all the time. If you go - order the filet mignon, it is so tender that you hardly need a knife to cut it with. My favorite side dishes are the creamed spinach and grilled asparagus, just delicious. Additionally, the service is always impeccable - just right! While the Chop House may be a little pricey for everyday dining out, it is certainly more than worth it for a special occasion."

  • "I've always had great experiences at this rextaurant. Not this time. The food wasn't as flavorful and I ordered the same item as always. The service was okay. This is the first time the manager didn't stop at the table to ask how the evening was going. He stopped at other tables, though. I'll go back but it won't be the next time I'm in town. Not looking forward to it like I usually do. Bummer!"

  • "Date night with my Beautiful Wife started bad at ChopHouse, finished great at Pfister Blu. My 14 oz Ribeye medium, charred was just short of 0.5" in thickness, it came out medium, not really charred, and the extra 5 bucks for Black Garlic Truffle Butter was a joke. My wife's opinion regarding her surf your turf 12 oz Filet with shrimp was that we have had it better on our own grill. Few pieces of bland shrimp for $15 ! Trio of sides consisted of grilled toothpick Asparagus, HungryMan's Mashed potatoes, and unique tasting Sauteed Mushrooms. If you are hungry for a good steak for same price try: Mason Street Grill, Capital Grille, Carnivor Steakhouse, Milwaukee Steakhouse (Coerper's chef is here now) etc. Thanks for reading my ramblings."

  • "I have wanted to visit this restaurant for some time. I finally got the chance and used it as a surprise for my wife of 21 years. The meal was excellent. Steaks were cooked to perfection. We were a table of 4; each of us chose a different steak and all were done perfectly. I would recommend this restaurant"

  • "I truly cannot remember a more memorable dinner. The food was perfect; in both presentation and taste. She ordered a medium rare rib eye and I had the lamb chops, medium well. There was no need for excuses because both meals were cooked to order and served at the perfect temperature. Dessert included a puff pastry dish with sliced strawberries, with a syrup and powdered sugar topped with a scoop of custard. We shared that along with a creme brulee. The waiter provided just the right repartee needed to keep the meal enjoyable and lively. I cannot say enough about the quality of the entire dining experience."

  • "I've been to the Chicago Chop House so I had high expectations for the Milwaukee one, It did not come close. The ambiance was great. Our waitress was nice but uncommunicative, she did not pay much attention to us. Typically when you dine at these prices you have at least 2 waiters/waitresses and a bread person and/or water person, not here. We were served one piece of bread and were never asked for a second. The waitress brought out our soup and practically threw it at us before running off without a word. We wanted some fresh cracked black pepper but our soup got cold before we even found someone to ask. Our dinner was served in the same brisk manner and without my wine I requested, again there was no one to ask. The steaks were only okay."
