The tradition of excellence has continued to grow under the current ownership Milton Fare Inc, who purchased the business in 1997. Executive Chef/Owner Brian Boston was named Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Maryland in 2011.Chef Boston has also received many other awards including The Five Star Diamond Award by The Academy of Hospitality Sciences , The DiRoNA Award, and top ratings from Zagat. Diner Reviews
  • "It was our 17th Anniversary and we usually treat ourselves to a nice dinner. It was the best we have ever had."

  • "This is such a classy place. Have gone several times to meet friends and taken my mom for her birthday but it is even a pleasure dining alone. The staff is always courteous and they have their diners' best interests at heart. It's especially a pleasure when they bring these little samples to try along with the meal. Will always go when there is a chance."

  • "Sunday Brunch at the Milton Inn has always been a delight! Not terribly crowded, quiet atmosphere, fabulous Bloody Marys, superb breakfast/lunch choices, and impeccable service."

  • "Food and Service were excellent--both great reasons to recommend and return. However...the room in which we were seated, "The Hearth Room," was very dark and very poorly lit. This is not as much a complaint from someone with aging eyesight, as it is from a diner who enjoys the presentation of the dishes one is served along with those one's companions receive. The chef has designed wonderful plates that not only taste delicious, but have color and texture upon which the eyes also should be able to feast. The room's darkness prevented these visual subtleties from being enjoyed. And parenthetically, made it a chore to read the menu."

  • "The seafood we had was all very fresh. I had the rich boy sandwich. Chucks of losbter and shrimp. The lobster chunks were amazing; tender. The shrimp were small and without a lot of flavor or texture. Fried calamari was also good."

  • "It is always a pleasure to dine at the Milton Inn. My husband and I first ate there over 50 years ago and we are still pleased to return."

  • "My wife took me to the Milton Inn (MI) for a private celebration of my birthday. The staff was ready when we arrived, commented upon our "Open Table" reservation, and seated us at the perfect table. Garth, our meal guide, told us about all of the gastronomical opportunities; we were pleased that his suggestions tasted exactly as described. The entire evening was perfect from the service, the ambiance, quality and quantity of food, and cocktails/wine service. Thumbs UP!"

  • "They say you gt what you pay for ....... Fantastic food, impeccable service but very pricey. We would definitely return but it would have to be for a special occasion not just a date night."

  • "Quite expensive. Fish preparation very ordinary. Husbands entree was very good."

  • "We had a wonderful Sunday Brunch at The Milton Inn! The food was yummy, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the service outstanding. I hadn't been to MI for many years, I am going to make it back there soon. It is a treasure for nice dining!"

  • "Thank you so much for making our 1st anniversary such a special event. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was excellent!!! The room was incredibly romantic-dark with soft white lights. We loved it and will be back."

  • "We were looking for fine dining for a birthday dinner. I knew the birthday boy wanted a good steak and many places now change their menus so often that you can not rely on there being a good piece of beef on the menu on any given night. Although the food is good at our downtown Baltimore steak houses, they tend to be noisy places to be seen. We were looking for something more intimate and Milton Inn did not disappoint!"

  • "We had another fabulous experience at the Milton Inn. Food was well-prepared, well-presented and delicious."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with dinner here. The wait staff was nothing less than excellent, as was the food. At the end of our meal we received a special little treat acknowledging our anniversary. Very kind. Very classy. Most enjoyable!"

  • "My wife and I had a great experience at the Milton Inn. Beautiful setting. Outstanding wait staff. Great food. My only negative would be I think it is a bit overpriced based on comparable restaurants and cuisine. Overall experience was excellent."

  • "First time there. Have had to wait 60 years to go there. Great meal; great drinks; great service"

  • "We went for Valentine's Day. There was a prix-fixe menu ($90 per person). The food was amazing! Creative, unique creations (e.g., venison rack) with flavor. The dishes were not simply fancy, fad gourmet concoctions, they were delicious! A bit noisy and pricy, but that should be understood prior to arrival. HIghly recommended for the exquisite menu and historic atmosphere."

  • "This was my second time dining @ the Milton and once again it was fabulous! Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The ambience is very quaint and romantic, overall, although it varies from room to room. Our server was attentive but not overbearing; excellent on all counts! I highly recommend the Milton for any special occasion, but especially anniversaries. We went for valentine's day this time so it was very crowded, somewhat hectic. If you're looking for quietier, more private experience, you may want to avoid such holidays. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful dining experience. You simply can't go wrong with the Milton Inn!"

  • "It's bigger than it looks from the outside and very quiet and quaint on the inside. It's a great first date location if you don't mind spending some money some money to impress the lady you want. The reviews are accurate, I would definitely recommend Miltons Inn as a place to bring your lady friend for good food and ambiance."

  • "We went the day after Valentines and had a great time - the menu was the special Valentines menu. They have an excellent wine list and the service is top-notch. We had a late seat time but never felt rushed - in fact we had such a good time we were all surprised to find we were almost the last table to leave."

  • "This was our first visit and it was great, we went for brunch and everything from the service, to the beverages to the meal was great. The Pre _fix Brunch offer options that were outstanding. Our server Mark R, was personable and very friendly, so glad we had him. Up scale dinning at a reasonable price."

  • "We wanted to stay close to home but also wanted a really nice, quiet and Romantic dinner. That was the Milton Inn in a nutshell. Food was outstanding..... We will return again."

  • "After a heavy snow on Valentine's Day we dined on Feb 15th in the Hearth Room and the roaring fire (real wood!) dimly lit room and quiet ambience, combined with the outstanding food and service made for an absolutely wonderful (and cozy) evening. All rooms in this restaurant are fantastic, but when it's cold and you want a nice warm fire the Hearth Room is IT!"

  • "One of the best around. Just wish tables were not on top of each other."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "The history and the setting is amazing - a very romantic, quaint and charming spot. Only downside I could say is that some of the tables for couples are fairly close together, so it's easy to hear the conversation of those next to you. However, the food, service, and atmosphere was well worth it. We'll be asking for the "hearth room" next time - an amazingly cozy room with fireplace."

  • "Everything was good until I went to pay. I had a groupon and they would not honor it. They said it was a holiday. I didn't know that Febrauary 15th had a new holiday."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "The most fabulous meal that I have ever had. Excellent service."

  • "Perfect food. Perfect service. Perfect everything! I especially enjoy their seafood dishes but everything is great!"

  • "The Milton Inn was HIGHLY recommended and as such did not reach these lofty expectations. The seafood was great quality but did not have the depth of flavor to mike the experience special or memorable."

  • "I should be the PR Director for Milton Inn -- because I simply love it! Everything about it is superb ... reminiscient of yesteryear's fine dining!"

  • "I hadn't been to Milton Inn for many years because the last time it was disappointing. It's a shame the food is not as good as the ambiance. The fish dishes we ordered were bland and dry...really not terribly inspired food. The waitress was excellent and the host staff was genial. The rooms are lovely and inviting...just have to improve that food before I can recommend."

  • "This has been our "go to" place for special occasions for the past 20 years. . .the quality of service and food are always top drawer. This spot is definitely unique, with a country inn atmosphere second to none. If you're looking for a romantic evening of dining, look no farther."

  • "The ambience was great, the wait staff were wonderfully informative and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. For starters, I had the pan seared foie gras, and my husband had the cream of crab soup. I also had the warm baby spinach salad. My husband and I each ordered one of the specials for the evening. He had a trio of filet mignon, lobster tail, and vichyssoise. I ordered a rack of lamb (4 chops) with side dishes of pureed sweet potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sause. We ended this gourmet feast by sharing a ramekin filled with apple cobbler, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream and homemade caramel sauce. Scrumptious!"

  • "The Milton Inn never disappoints. This restaurant certainly lives up to its 5 Star rating. The food, the service and atmosphere are outstanding! Best oyster stew we have ever experienced. The food is always prepared to perfection. Our server, Mark, went above and beyond to provide fabulous service. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable with the menu."

  • "Unless you want to be unbearably hot, do not sit next to a fireplace. The "real" fires add to the ambience, but they are stoked regularly and are way too hot to sit next to."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed the Milton Inn from top to bottom. We made reservations for 8 pm on a Thursday, and when we arrived the place was comfortably occupied--not full, but not empty either. Our waiter was outstanding and in addition to a varied menu, he introduced us to several specials, each expanding the diversity of our selections. We each had a soup (French onion for her, Maryland crab for me). I tried a special mixed grill (steak, lobster, and veal) while she had the salmon. We finished with desserts (chocolate truffle and apple cobbler--each large enough to share, and we should have!). Everything was excellent and nothing was small. I also appreciated how everything was seasoned--nothing bland, but nothing overdone. Just terrific."

  • "A delightful dining experience from the time you enter the door until the time you leave. Very friendly, knowledgable, and attentive staff and a superb menu. The cream of crab soup had large lumps of crab meat and the lobster tail was tender and delicious. I've already recommended The Milton Inn to family and friends. Can't wait for a return visit!!"
