Diner Reviews
  • "Great atmosphere for couples or group. I enjoyed all of it including the wait staff."

  • "Restaurant is made of several antique barns. Beautiful and VERY COOL and sweet lighting. Nice little relish tray and fresh bread basket with unique spread along with butter. Delicious BBQ sauce. Very accommodating staff. Nice price on full slab of bbq baby back ribs all week long. If you live in the area, you can't beat their rib special. Unique corn meal crusted calamari although appetizer was smallish for the price."

  • "We saw the rib special ad and thought we would try it. Our server was attentive. We liked the bread and veggies that were provided on the table. The wine was a generous pour and the house red was delicious. The ribs were fall off the bone tender but the sauce was too salty for our taste. But we did enjoy them. And our server brought warm wet towels to clean-up - a very nice touch. The pistachio gelato dessert was fabulous."

  • "Millrose recently converted to a Supper Club, opening at 5:00 on Tuesdays through Sundays (plus Sunday brunch hours). We would dine here after work or mid-afternoon on vacation days. We recently retired and now prefer to have our main meal earlier in the day, so we're disappointed that we can't include Millrose in our new schedule as easily as we had hoped. That said, we love the ambiance of their seasonal decorations and the warmth of the fireplace. Their entrees are always deliciously prepared. I especially like the Pork Tenderloin Marsala or the Broiled Salmon. Give this place a try."

  • "Been there twice and will go back again, the food is very good. The meal come with soup or salad get the soup homemade and wonderful. The standard beef vegetable is so good you could make a meal of it. Will be going back that good."

  • "The overall experience was good, however I would not order the ribs and pasta again. While not bad it was not of Millrose's normal quality."

  • "Happy with the bar, not the restaurant. The musicians in the bar area had a great playlist, played at a level you could hear but still have a conversation. I will go back there with friends!! I wanted to love Millrose restaurant that night but it fell short. We had a reservation and still waited for our table (there were a number of empty tables). The restaurant needs to update. The decor was tired, the menu a little boring, the host a little pretentious, the waitress could have been more accomodating (the substitution for fries was $3 - a little steep I thought). The special was gone (7:30 reservation). Some entrees were very good but I had the ribs (a past favorite of mine there) and am not sure I'll eat the leftovers."

  • "Arrived 10 mins early for a reservation on a Thursday night place was almost empty but would not seat us because the wait staff was to busy. When we got seat 20 mins AFTER our reservation time our poor waitress was slammed an had almost a whole dining room to cover. However they appeared to be alot of mangers??? chit chating with "friends" vs helping out. The food is $$$ but decent, the relish tray cute an a throw back to my youth. Would I come again mmm probably not price, attitude of staff to many other restaurants in the area. But if you haven't been go once just to say you have.."

  • "Worst service I have had in a restaurant of this caliber in years. We had to ask for water, we had to ask to get plates cleared, we had to ask for everything... when bill came, by friend tipped 12% and the waitress IMMEDIATELY came over and asked if their was something wrong with the service. Reality is it was good to see that she could do something quickly."

  • "We were looking for a pre-theatre place and Millrose fit the bill. Hadn't been there for a while, and they did not disappoint. Nice supper club atmosphere, though I wished the relish tray was a bit more....I remember cottage cheese and pate..though the pimento cheese and veggies were good.Calamari needed a bit more crisp, but Manhattens and Rib specials were spot on. A mark for me is Creme Brulee...Millrose was very good. Wish they were open for lunch."

  • "We have not been to Millrose is years and were so happy to come back to this great classic! Had a wonderful meal and listened to great music at the bar. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed!"

  • "We hadn't been to Millrose for quite a while. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by friendly, personable staff. Our food, from the appetizer to the dessert was quite good and our waitress was really great. It was crowded, but that was not a problem. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. We definitely will be going back."

  • "Millrose is always consistently good. The food, the ambience & the service is superb. It is a great restaurant to go to for a special occasion. The staff is efficient, friendly & don't rush you. You feel like a guest in their home. To me that is very inviting. You want to come back time & again."

  • "Millrose has been a great place to dine over the years. The joined barns and great bar are to be relished. They have made changes in the recent past but the look and feel is still the same. i realize they are trying to attract a larger audience but the traditional items are still on the menu. Service was excellent and the food was good. The atmosphere adds to the experience. I will be back soon even if I were to sit at the bar and have a beer!"

  • "We went on Saturday to celebrate Valentine's Day. We haven't been there in years. Ever since they stopped making their own beer, my husband preferred going to the Lucky Monk across the street. I liked the atmosphere, more elegant than the Lucky Monk. I liked the live entertainment in the bar, that started early enough for us to enjoy it! The food was OK, my husband really enjoyed his whitefish, but my pork marsala was tough. I think that the food and prices are better at the Lucky Monk. They are able to charge less because they don't have a relish tray, bread, and soup/salad included."

  • "We meet friends at Millrose quite often and always have a delicious meal and great service. We love their homemade salad dressings and usually order the special -- always a great deal. This time we had the strip steak special that included a baked potato, soup or salad and a glass of wine for $19.00. I highly recommend Millrose Restaurant."

  • "From the server, to the dust balls above our table, to the quality of the food our overall experience was very poor. Our waitress seemed to forget about us, and when we asked to order she was rude, stating, "Well, what do you want?". My ravioli looked like it was from the freezer section at Aldi, and the wine available in glasses were all very sub-par. There is great promise in a location of such beauty but it seems to be taken for granted that clients will come for the ambiance, because the food and service do not live up."

  • "As a wannabe chef I do a lot of grilling and smoking. Had the Rose's Ribs and they were "fall off the bone" but that doesn't mean they taste good. No smokey flavor, no meat flavor, no sauce flavor. I can make ribs better on my worst day! The "large shrimp" are large but they must have had the flavor "fried" out of them. Maybe I was having a "bad taster" day and needed something stronger. By and large it was just OK and I was lookin for something above average."

  • "Food was good, but nothing special. My finacee's fish was a little under cooked. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant, but felt that the staff was over whelmed."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "I would definitely return to try more dishes. I ordered the side of Au Gratin potatoes and it was large enough to share. The portion sizes are very generous. The service was well-timed and friendly."

  • "The evening was enjoyable, relaxing, and the food was excellent. It was nice to enjoy a little retro supper club atmosphere with the relishes and pimento cheese. Loved It!!!!"

  • "We had a very nice Valentine's dinner. The specials for the night were great and you didn't have to chose from only that menu. We felt a little rushed though."

  • "I have one beef with Open Table It goes like this, I wanted a reservation on Friday 2/14 at 6;30-7 for a nice dinner with my wife ,but was giving the option of 5:45 or 8:15 option and this was a week out. I take the 5 :45 dinner place and I get to the restaurant I am there till almost nine o'clock with a half empty place. could have walked in at any time and sat and ate. I really like this place, but come on , any way we had a great time and we do like to eat before 8:00 pm any way Have Fun DG"

  • "Service was great. Food was great. Only draw back was no one at the front desk to seat us for over ten mins. I actually went walking around the restaurant to find someone and waked up on a group of staff sitting by the fireplace. Once I caught a waiters eye, soenome came to seat us a few mins later. She made it seem like we were interrupting her. But everything's else was great."

  • "Had my valentines day celebration a week early and really enjoyed it! Great live band, flavorful and hot food, wonderful friendly service, and even had the place decorated for valentines with a cozy feel to it. Loved everything about my evening there and will be back again to this neighborhood gem soon."

  • "Won't be going back any time soon. Over priced cocktails started the evening off on the wrong foot. Ordered there" SPECIAL" and was quite disappointed (ribs) mediocre at best--- in fairness I need to take some responsibility--what did I think I was going to get for $9.95 .There is a lot of character in the restaurant but the food quality needs some attention."

  • "We dine here frequently and have never had a bad experience. We were a little concerned when they changed to the "Supper Club" idea from the conventional restaurant, but this has worked out well. They have different specials every month, and every one is wonderful. We were just here for the $9.95 full slab of rib dinner and it was outstanding as usual. Our servers are always friendly and attentive, and pleasant. Go here for dinner...you will not be disappointed."

  • "Great ambience. Would go back. The food was tasty. One steak was not cooked as requested, but corrected the problem without hesitation. The tenderloin appetizer was great and presented well. Nice selection of desserts. The staff was attentive and food was well timed."

  • "Hadn't been to The Millrose in years, so we were out that way and remembered how much we used to like to eat there. Made reservations and walked into an empty restaurant. Everything that used to be great about the place is now gone. Food was so average, we would have been better off at a chain restaurant. The place looked old, tired and unkept. Service was weak and it even took us ten minutes to get our coats out of the coat check room. So disappointing when you remember greatness only to find out it left the building a decade ago."

  • "We come to Millrose often. We love this place. We went for the rib special, but half of our party decided on something else. Prime Rib, soup, tacos, All were excellent. The wait staff is very efficient and friendly."

  • "The only good part of our dinner was the beef. I had Prime Rib and my companion had roast beef. Those entrees were tasty. Nothing else was very good - and it wax very expensive."

  • "We have had breakfast here two Sundays running. Not as many choices as some breakfast spots, but unique choices and we've enjoyed all that we have tried."

  • "Beautiful restaurant. Our first visit. Went for the $10 ribs and fish fry. Great bread and relish tray. Our server was friendly. We ordered the sampler platter for our appetizer. We then ordered the house specialty beef vegetable soup, salad and our entrees. Soup came first. Very good. 2 spoonfuls into the soup the appetizer showed up. I asked our server to please slow down. Half way into the appetizer, here comes the salad. After 3 bites of salad came the entree. Really rushed. Not an enjoyable experience. Fish fry was good not great. Ribs were just ok. Very tomatoey. May go back to try the steaks. Heard they are great."

  • "I have been here many times over the past 10 years. This place is now under new managment and has changed into a "supper club" rather than a family dining establishment. What does that mean? Well to me, it means (WAY) higher priced food, smaller portions and less quality. Even after being a long time customer..I will explore new options in the area as there are many. No reason to waste money for food that is forgettable and super expensive ($20 for a chicken dish??!!!..WHAT???!)"

  • "I had breakfast with a friend I hadn't seen in years at Millrose on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was warm and inviting with a fireplace and eating sections divided so it feels like smaller rooms rather than one giant area. The staff was friendly and let us talk and talk. We were there for hours and they never once rushed us. We had typical breakfast fare and everything was prepared as we asked and tasted great."
