Diner Reviews
  • "Milleridge Inn offers a very nice dining experience in a lovely old house. Although somewhat pricey at $42 or so, the Sunday brunch included a vast array of breakfast and lunch items, including iced lobster and cocktail shrimp (yum!). They had several "bars", including ones that offered omelettes, waffles & pancakes, sliced turkey or beef, bananas foster and my favorite, chocolate fondue."

  • "While we found the menu limited and pricey the buffet was terrific. Big cold shrimp and lobsters were delicious. The dessert table was a feast"

  • "We were very happy with the food that we were served and the service was excellent. The price was a little steep for a Wednesday night dinner. I wish they would make things just a little more affordable for everyone, including us Seniors that would like to go out more but can't afford to spend $42 per person for a 2 hour dinner with one bar drink. The full price-fixed dinner ranged from $28 to about 36.00. That includes a very lot of great food, including appetizer, fruit cup, dinner plate and dessert and coffee. It does not include a bar drink and a tip and that's what makes the whole idea of dining out a turn-off for me, unless it is a special occasion."

  • " We went on Open Table to make a reservation and they did not have a reservation until 8PM. I thought wow - the restaurant will be crowded for a Monday night. When we arrived, we were the ONLY diners in the place. This restaurant is old and beautiful! It has charm and character to spare but the food could use a major overhaul. I ordered Chicken Francese and it was dry and tasteless. My husband and son ordered Prime Rib..it was nothing special. It is a shame that the food does not match the atmosphere. Overall we were very disappointed!"

  • "I made a reservation for Father's day, Ihave been here many times and was looking forward to it. What they did not tell me was that there would be a dinner buffet only ,not the usual menu i was expecting, since I was with a group of people we deciced to stay. The buffet was very expensive($43.00 each) and the food was poor quality at best, certainly not worth the price. Sorry"

  • "We went for my sons graduation. We should have been told that a while back there was a kitchen fire and would only be serving buffet style when I go out for a special occasion I would liked to be served. The restaurant was empty when we got there. They sat us at a long table against the wall. We didnt know until after we were seated it was buffet. Having a table against the wall, especially when restaurant was empty, was not a good situation when you have to get up and down for a buffet. The price for the buffet was high. It included unlimited drinks, but if you have people who don't drink it's not worth it . Would not recommend and won't go back"

  • "We went on a Saturday at 4:00 for a party of 10. There was a fire in the kitchen a week prior so there was only a buffet available. It was $45.00 a person!!! The carving station, pasta station and waffle stations were unmanned and we had to flag down people to help us! The two waitresses for the tables were nice though. THe food was so-so. For that money I would have expected more selection and better quality food. "

  • "Having made a reservation online I only had the website to go through . When I booked a table for Mother's Day no mention of having a special buffet menu was seen. I had expected the regular menu. While there was many options on the buffet the food was not up to par. The service was slow and our waitress was hard to find . We often asked other servers for help with drinks , ketchup for the table , etc... I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for special occasions."

  • "The service and maintenance of the buffet was disappointing at best. We have always liked the restaurant, but hadn't been back for several years. I hope my Mothers Day experience was just a fluke and not typical of the good service and quality now. I was surprised. Water at the table was not refilled once, spoons were not available. Stations at the buffet were not staffed. Ice cream was not available. Food was left uncovered and became cold. The hosting staff was disorganized, unwelcoming, and did not seem to know what they were doing. I wish we had ordered the sit down dinner instead."

  • "Went for the 1st time on Mother's Day and will definitely be returning for other special occasions. We took the evening buffet which was amazing. Next time we will be trying the Sunday Brunch"

  • "I brought a large party in for Mother's Day and I was quite disappointed by the buffet selection. For $50 a person, I was expecting a better selection of dishes. While the corned beef was spectacular, the prime rib was tasteless. I am a huge seafood fan but I found the shrimp cocktail to be mushy. Normally, truly fresh cold shrimp should be somewhat crunchy where it should "snap" when bitten into, not mushy. The lobster was extremely tough and tasteless, which I found virtually inedible. On a brighter note, the dessert selection was very good. Overall, I felt the $50/person price was extremely overpriced. No wonder there were empty tables, even on a busy day like Mother's Day. "

  • "I realize it was mother's day but the service was slow - we waited 1 1/2 hours for our meal. Poor waiter was overworked. Food was not as good as I remembered. We were all disappointed. Won't go there again. Sorry."

  • "I had always heard that this place was "known for their Mother's-Day Brunch" well what they should be known for is disorganization, really bad flow, a horrible set up, and a drastically overpriced menu. I will never return and will never recommend this venue for a brunch. I was embarrassed to have taken my wife here for brunch."

  • "We have been going to the Milleridge Inn for at least 25 years. We have celebrated many special occasions there. We decided to go out on the Saturday night before Mother's Day. Due to traffic, we were 30 minutes late for dinner, and they held our reservations. The food was delicious as always. The service, however, was terrible. Our waitress seemed to always forget about us. We sat for about 15 minutes before drink orders were taken. We waited a long time for appetizers and salads, and then once the salads came out, the main entree arrived. The timing was poor. Our meal took over 3 hours -- for 3 people. My first disappointing experience with them."

  • "Although the menu awas not as extensive as might be found elsewhere, id did offer a balance of meat, poultry and fish. The menu prices may seem a little high, but when an appetizer, salad, entee, coffee & desert are all included, it is in fact very reasonable. The Inn is quite historic and the grounds are very senic with quaint shoppes to browse through. The service was excellent, however the noise level was high and it was difficult to hear across the table to have a conversation."

  • "5 o'clock reservations. Seated immediately among many empty tables. Had to request water, bread and butter after waiting 15 minutes even though idle employees were milling around reception area. Soup was barely warm when it was finally served. My parents are in their nineties with limitations. Did not want to waste more time in getting someone's attention and sending the soup back to the kitchen. Noise level very high due to a large group previously seated near us. Perhaps we could have been seated in a more remote area? Entree menu offerings disappointing."

  • "We had a very nice time. You get a lot of food for the money and it's very tasty. My only complaint (and it's the same complaint from last time I was there last May) is that my food wasn't as hot as I'd like it. It was almost as if they kept my food out while preparing the food for the rest of the table. By the time it reached my place, it was room temperature, but I was not about to send it back and have the rest of my guests wait for my plate to return. As it turns out, at least one other guest had the same opinion of the food temperature, but also didn't want to share this problem and make the others wait for it's return."

  • "The food selection was impressive and high-quality. The price for the type of food offered is worth the money. The service was also very attentive. Dined with a very picky eater who wants to go back next Friday night! "

  • "The Milleridge Inn has been around for years, however, as of late the food has improved significantly, and they now have choices such as Sunday Brunch, Friday nite buffet and they participated in Restaurant week, which we took advantage of. Not disappointed. Brings you back to a bye-gone period. Improvements have been made, but my only complaint would be the chairs. While they are comfortable, they are too low. You sit and you sink. Other than that the food was great, the service was fabulous and they don't rush you out so you can enjoy a wonderful dinner with friends and family and not worry that you have to hurry up. Would definitely return."

  • "A Long Island tradition, this restaurant is showing its age. The food was substandard and abundant. the hostess was confused. Our waitress was sweet yuck incompetent. Our visit was memorable, but not in a good way. We felt as if we were in 1963. And maybe, that was the last time we will go."

  • "The food was better than it has been on the last few times I visited the restaurant. The service was excellent. I had requested" a round table in a semi-private because we would be celebrating a birthday" are when I made the reservation. That is exactly what we were given. Also, they brought a birthday treat for one of my guests even though I had not said anything when we arrived."

  • "We were a group of 12 celebrating a birthday on a recent rainy Saturday night. Our first impression was not favorable, as there was a bucket catching drops from a leaky ceiling in the strange entry area that had a makeshift feel to it. Once inside the actual dining room, we were pleased with the decor and ambiance, enhanced by soft piano music. We had a lot of catching up to do, so it was good that the place wasn't crowded and it didn't bother us that the service was slow. The food was nothing special, definitely not hip and adventurous. The prices were reasonable, as they included an appetizer, salad, coffee and dessert. The kids' menu was definitely overpriced, but at least they had it. Overall, nice ambiance, but needs renovation."

  • "I have been to this restaurant before a number of times, with the same friend. We keep choosing it for more than convenience. The food is reliably delicious; the service is warm, personal and attentive. Someone in the lobby labeled it as "expensive", but the price for our entrees included a starter, salad, dessert and coffee. It really was a good deal for the amount of food, and its quality. I highly recommend the salmon on the lunch menu."

It was great that the staff bought over a lovely cake and sang happy birthday to her!! Thank you and your staff for such a lovely time. We will be returning again."

  • "Checked the restaurant's Website before we went. Looked at the menu on the website for options, pricing, etc. After we drove 40 minutes to get there and we were seated we found that they had a very limited "St. Patrick's Day" menu. The prices were $7 to $10 higher per entree than on the menu posted on their website. There was also a MUCH smaller selection of entrees. I think there should have been something posted on their website saying that there was a special menu for the weekend. We would not have made the trip had we known. When I told this to the manager he just shrugged his shoulders. We did not stay for dinner and will not make the trip again. ."

  • "I asked for a quiet area for a party of 12, and was given a small, separate area, which was perfect! The wine was good, and our guests enjoyed their meals, from appetizer to dessert. The service was great. We were given ample time to enjoy our special family occasion."

  • "We had a very nice time - as always. Milleridge never fails to have great service, not in a hurry type atmosphere. We were there at a quiet time in the early evening and we were served well, attended to and had a good time. We told the waitress we were old friends catching up, so she let us talk and relax when we got there and did not hurry our orders. Milleridge Inn food is always great and you get a lot for your money. I highly recommend this restaurant for families, parties, or just the two of you."
