Miller Tavern- downtownconsistantly goodlove The Tavern. Monday night great to take a vintage wine & pay a $ corkage ! I have the artisan cheese board on Mondays to go with my wine :-) food consistently good, service great , 2 minute walk from condo - couldn't ask for more.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but cut off the bassOrdered burger and lobster tacos. Both were great. Server was attentive. Music (some jazz, dance) itself was nice enough to create a potentially enjoyable ambience. However, bass was way too loud and the thumping inappropriate for a dining environment. Detracted from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Marvelous MillerMet 7 friends there before the Stones concert. Our good natured, adept server Gregory was just like one of us...lots of jokes, attentive but not intrusive service...and the food was excellent...succulent Chilean Sea Bass, rich and robust short ribs, tasty quesadillas, tacos and chicken curry...and my steak, salad and steamed veg rocked. Delicious martinis and decent sized glasses of wine...all at good prices. It was my first time...but definitely not my last! Great ambience a hop skip and a jump from the ACC!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNot your typical TavernDowntown location does not have same ambiance as north TO location which has been around since 1857 however food and service are excellent. In addition to pub fare there are also other choices and we opted for shrimp and crab cakes for starters and lobster mac and cheese and scallops for entrees. The entrees were excellent but the shrimp in the starter was a little mushy and had obviously been frozen and thawed
Beer selection is a little disappointed for a tavern with only 5-6 choices.
Service was OK but not outstanding5/18/2013 12:00:00 AM5 star treatmentI had an enjoyable time at Miller Tavern on Saturday night. Food was great. Lots of flavour. Service was awesome and the waiter went way out of his way to make it a memorable evening.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVintage cocktails & So Much More.Jolly Miller is a great neighbourhood bar/restaurant with super-friendly service (thanks Douglas!), great light lunches and starters (the charcuterie and "this and that" combos are amongst the best deals in TO, a nice patio scene and excellent vintage cocktails & wine list.
Ambience is much better than "fake Irish pub" - modern, moderately quiet, spacious.
We work in the area and go to the Miller at all times of the day - for lunch and dinner and all times in-between for coffee and meetings.
Only downside - forget game or concert nights at ACC - unless you're going to the game or concert - Miller fills up from 5 to game and immediately after. If you want a nice dinner those night book after 7:005/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
